Details of Disappearance
Marjorie was last seen on 03/17/12 by her husband, It is believed that her and her husband had a argument and her husband left and 8 hrs later her came back and she was gone, leaving her 2 children behind at the home.. She also left behind her purse, cellphone, car and keys.

The husband stated at the time of her disappearance that she left behind a type written note saying she was leaving.

McCaffrey’s husband Robert – once considered a person of interest – is now considered a suspect after investigators determined a note supposedly left behind was fabricated.
Her case remains unsolved.

Somber second anniversary in search for Gayle McCaffrey

WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) – It's been two years since Gayle McCaffrey was last seen. The West Ashley mother of two was reported missing by her husband Robert. On Monday, McCaffrey's pastor remembered her during Sunday's service.

Pastor Marshall Blalock says McCaffrey was loved by all at First Baptist Church and they haven't forgotten the love she showed them as a long-time congregation member.

Flowers were left at the altar over the weekend where McCaffrey worshipped in honor of the missing mother of two.

"So today our hearts are still broken because there's still no definitive answers to what actually happened to Gayle," Blalock said.

Gray Court, S.C. - An off-duty Laurens County Deputy found human remains while hunting Saturday.

The Laurens County Sheriff's Office, Laurens County Coroner's Office, SLED and assisting agencies are investigating. The Coroner says the remains appear to be at least four years old, and it will likely be days before they have any new information.

The human skeletal remains were discovered in the vicinity of Warrior Creek Church Road and Bluff Road in the area of Gray Court.

Robert McCaffrey, whose wife disappeared more than two years ago, was arrested Saturday and charged with obstruction of justice, according to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

Gayle McCaffrey has been missing from their West Ashley home since March 2012 and is presumed dead.

The arrest affidavit says McCaffrey, 42, told several lies in his statement to deputies about what happened.

But McCaffrey's attorney, Chris Lizzi of North Charleston, said the arrest was only a "staged event" to make it seem as though the investigation has been fruitful.

The new details about the letter and about Robert McCaffrey's behavior when deputies first questioned him were made available after his arrest Saturday on a charge of obstructing justice. They were contained in an expanded incident report from March 18, 2012, the day he reported his wife missing.

It was the first trip behind bars for the 42-year-old man who deputies have long suspected in his wife's presumed slaying.

But it was a short one. He posted $100,000 bail Sunday afternoon and was released.

His attorney, Chris Lizzi of North Charleston, lambasted the Sheriff's Office for what he considered a maneuver to force his client into a second interview even though deputies knew he had a lawyer.
