Update: Andrea Sneiderman remains in DeKalb County Jail. A bond hearing has been set for August 21.

Andrea Sneiderman was arrested at around 10:45 a.m. today after a DeKalb County grand jury indicted her in just one and a half hours on eight charges associated with the death Nov. 18, 2010 of her husband Russell “Rusty” Sneiderman in the parking lot of a Dunwoody daycare center.

DeKalb District Attorney Robert James held a press conference at 1 p.m. today to announce the arrest of the 36-year-old Dunwoody mother of two small children at her Lake Oconee home and to read off the eight charges contained in the 19 page indictment. The eight counts are:

• Violation of the Georgia Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act

• Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder

• Malice Murder

• Insurance Fraud

• Making A False Statement

• Making A False Statement

• Perjury

• Perjury

ATLANTA (AP) -- An attorney for the woman charged in the killing of her husband outside their son's preschool says her defense team is already weighing whether she can receive a fair trial in metro Atlanta, where coverage of the case has been intense.

Attorney John Petrey said Friday it will be a challenge to find a pool of unbiased jurors to hear the case against Andrea Sneiderman, who has been charged with malice murder and criminal attempt to commit murder in the 2010 killing of her husband.

Another key question is whether the man convicted of shooting her husband will be a witness at trial.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Back in March, DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James called Andrea Sneiderman a "co-conspirator" in her husband Rusty's murder. At that time, he insisted there was strong evidence to back up those remarks.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. —
Channel 2 Action News cameras were there Thursday morning as deputies arrested Andrea Sneiderman on murder charges in Putnam County. She faces an eight-count indictment.

Sneiderman's husband, Rusty, was gunned down on the morning of November 18, 2010, in the Dunwoody Prep parking lot after dropping his son off for pre-school.

The charges in Sneiderman’s indictment include murder, attempted murder, racketeering, insurance fraud, two counts of perjury and two counts of making false statements. Her lawyers released a statement denying the charges, saying the arrest was "choreographed for the media."

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Andrea Sneiderman's attorneys say her in-laws are responsible for stopping chats with their grandchildren.

Rusty Sneiderman's parents said they had regular video chats with their grandchildren until Andrea was charged in her husband's murder. The grandparents filed a legal claim to restore those visits and to get Department of Children and Family Services to do welfare checks on the children.

On Thursday, Andrea Sneiderman's attorney said in a court petition, "The petitioners have made no showing, by clear and convincing evidence...that the children will suffer actual physical, mental, or emotional harm unless such visitation is granted."

Judge grants Andrea Sneiderman continuance in custody deposition

A judge has granted a continuance of the deposition of Andrea Sneiderman in her visitation dispute with her in-laws.

Sneiderman, 36, was arrested last week and charged with murder in the death of her husband, Rusty Sneiderman. Since then, her husband’s parents said they have been cut off from their regular Skype chats with the couple’s two children.

Andrea Sneiderman’s parents are currently caring for the children, but Rusty Sneiderman’s parents have filed for custody, accusing her parents of interfering in the investigation into their son’s death.

The eight-count indictment, which reads more like a narrative than a legal document, claims Sneiderman and Neuman were having an affair and “developed and carried out a plan to murder Rusty Sneiderman, with the intent of acquiring property, money and life insurance proceeds.”

The indictment says the pair wanted to collect on Rusty Sneiderman’s life insurance, which was worth $2 million, as well as more than $960,000 he had in individual and joint bank accounts with Andrea Sneiderman.

“Neuman and Andrea Sneiderman conspired together to murder Rusty Sneiderman so that they could enjoy a life together, eliminate Neuman’s debt problems, and fully benefit from the assets the Sneidermans had acquired as well as the proceeds of Rusty Sneiderman’s life insurance policies,” the indictment states.

If Andrea Sneiderman is granted bond Aug. 21, she may not be able to foot the bill.

DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James last Friday froze nearly $2.3 million of the widow's assets, one day after she was charged with conspiring with her former boss, Hemy Neuman, to kill her husband. Neuman was sentenced to life in prison without parole in March for the November 2010 fatal shooting of Rusty Sneiderman outside a Dunwoody daycare facility.

The money involved came mostly via two life insurance policies, totaling $2 million, for which Andrea Sneiderman was the beneficiary. According to the complaint for forfeiture, those assets "were obtained through a pattern of racketeering activity."

Prosecutors sue for Sneiderman insurance money

The lawsuit alleges because Andrea obtained the money after knowingly participating in the planning of her husband’s murder, the money is “contraband and should be forfeited to the state.”

According to the documents, a DeKalb County investigator froze the accounts holding the money on Aug. 3.

The lawsuit doesn’t name Sneiderman as a defendant, rather the Bank of New York Mellon, where the money is being held.

I am also planning on following this case closely, I followed the Hemy Neuman trial for the murder of Rusty Sneiderman. In Session is now showing the recorded videos of his trial, they have played over and over Andrea's testimony; she was confrontational, combatant and defensive during the questioning by both, the defense and the prosecution.

Everything that she testified to during Neuman's trial is going to be used against her when her case goes to trial.

I hope we have the opportunity to discuss this case further.

She was not a suspect, had her murdered husband's 2 million dollar insurance money....plus everything he had worked for...and she get's on the stand and completely leaves no one with any doubt she was involved in the murder!

Her testimony alone will convince any jury she is guilty~! Local legals are saying they have never seen a witness testify as she did. The police never even suspected her so we can never have all the text messages, but there is no way this woman will walk free.

Good Morning all,
I have been following this on IS and I recall this when he as on trial.
I have wondered why the police didn't look at Andrea sooner. On IS some talking heads said they needed her on the stand. Perhaps they knew from the get go but they now have her outrageous testimony that has boxed her in tightly. When her trial comes up, she is toast. At least I hope so. After Orlando, I am still skittish.

Watched In Session today as they were re-playing the Hemy Neuman trial and their was no mention of Andrea Sneiderman's bond hearing.

Does anyone know what time it is or if it got cancelled?

As DeKalb prosecutors prepare their murder case against Andrea Sneiderman, they have to work around what isn't there — potential evidence that was lost because Dunwoody police never treated Rusty Sneiderman's widow as a possible suspect.

The police's posture, effectively ruling her out as a target, baffles experienced criminal investigators who have watched the case closely. "It's been a rule of thumb for a hundred years or longer that you always start with the closest person to the victim and move out," said Ralph Stone, a retired GBI agent and FBI-trained profiler.

Sneiderman, who has a bond hearing Tuesday, has denied that she conspired with the trigger man, Hemy Neuman, whom a jury found guilty but mentally ill. Among the decisions by investigators that could complicate the prosecution's task.

What will happen at the Andrea Sneiderman Bond Hearing?

Shortly after Andrea Sneiderman's August 2, 2012, arrest, Judge Gregory Adams scheduled Sneiderman's bond hearing for August 21, 2012. Andrea Sneiderman has been sitting in the DeKalb County jail since the arrest. This post addresses the bond hearing prior to its occurrence.

First, I have received several inquiries from people wondering why Sneiderman's bond hearing was set three weeks after her arrest instead of within 48 hours or some shorter time.

In Georgia, there is a procedure by which someone arrested for certain crimes may be held without bail. In those circumstances, a bail hearing need only be granted within 30 days of the arrest. It appears that Andrea Sneiderman was held without bail, and her bail hearing was set within 30 days of her arrest. See O.C.G.A. §17-6-1.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Andrea Sneiderman will try to get out of jail on Tuesday. The mother of two, arrested earlier this month, is accused of plotting to kill her husband Rusty.

A bond hearing for Sneiderman is set for later in the day.

Sneiderman's boss and alleged lover Hemy Neuman was convicted of gunning down Rusty at a Dunwoody daycare in March.

The DeKalb County District Attorney's office accuses Sneiderman of giving Neuman details of Rusty's schedule for the day the victim was shot outside the daycare center.

OMG is anyone watching the Hemy Neuman trial? Evidently when her 'best friend' had to testify and said that Andrea had called her and screamed into the phone that Rusty had been shot. Only problem was she told her that before she was officially notified that this was a shooting. Hmmmm
then when the friend left the stand Andrea stood up in court and gave her a big bear hug and held her. She walked out of the courtroom with her, but the friend's atty. just said the hug was for the cameras and out in the hallway Andrea ripped into her and told her she was no longer a friend. Andrea understood why she had to testify, but she would have to live with it and also (as she was wagging her finger in friend's face) she would have to live with Andrea had to do. As a result of that, they notified the school to protect friend's kids....definitely a strange, manipulative woman

Nothing about this woman (after displaying her true self on the stand) surprised me.....then to what she did to her friend whom she made an ex-friend after she hugged her in front of court camera's...I really cannot wait for Andrea to face her jury with her smug self.....gonna be fun to watch! I am understanding that her testimony (as filmed) will be admitted for the jury to watch.

The town of Dunwoody was not incorporated until a few years ago..IIRC....and the police department,ect...was relatively inexperienced. Here is an excerpt from an article on a local news station:

Rusty Sneiderman’s murder was only the second murder case worked by Dunwoody police. The chief said his detectives had prior experience with other departments and were balancing respect for a grieving widow with the need to get answers.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. —
A DeKalb County judge has granted a $500,000 bond for Andrea Sneiderman.

Sneiderman was arrested Aug. 2 after being indicted on murder charges. Her former boss, Hemy Neuman, was convicted earlier this year of shooting and killing Andrea's husband, Rusty Sneiderman, outside a Dunwoody day care in November 2010.

As part of Judge Gregory Adam's ruling, Sneiderman must pay at least $250,000 in cash to be released on bond. The judge also ordered, if she made bond, Sneiderman would have to live with her parents under house arrest, having to wear an ankle monitoring bracelet.

She will only be allowed to leave for doctors appointments and to see her attorneys.

'She wants to fight this': Andrea Sneiderman girds for battle

Now that she's been granted bond, Andrea Sneiderman begins the toughest fight of her life.

Friends say the mother of two — charged as a co-conspirator in her husband's murder — is ready for battle, conceding nothing.

"She wants to fight this," said Jeffrey Moss, a venture capitalist from Chicago and longtime friend of Andrea and her late husband Rusty Sneiderman. "She always felt like there was a desire by people to get her."

Yes! After watching both the prosecution and defense question her like they were teamed-up or something and listening to her smartass, know-it-all answers and have an answer for everything -- I was hooked. Poor Rusty. Jeez, she is such a two-faced wench.

And then the stunt she pulled when her best friend testified! I swear it looked liked she almost kissed her on/close to the mouth. I just knew it was all for show since she knew the jury was watching her. And both prosecution and defense wanted her out and told not to be in contact with witnesses. Judge decision: FTW!

It takes a lot for me to call someone out for being stoopid but this Andrea chick takes the cake. Hells bells, they weren't really looking at her yet/that much AND she made all of the investigators from both sides hone in on her. I would really like to see her testimony again; maybe I can find it on-line, not all chopped up. Apparently Andrea didn't have an attorney at this time? ~~C

I've looked for actual trial video of Andrea testifying at Hemy's trial. Here is one part I found. Watch it all with popcorn lol. Not sure this video has been posted...but dont choke on your popcorn in the last few minutes :)

Yeah, her best friend; friends as a couple for at least 10 years. That's long enough for her to know Andrea very well. They vacationed together, did things on the weekends, kept each others' kids. When I was watching Andrea testify, snapping her head, pointing and swaying her finger back and forth all Jersey-shore like, I just didn't know what to think about her. Is she a closet white trash and/or wannabe gangsta/ghetto chick? You couldn't have missed that body language. And, dude, defensive right off the mark. WTH? Don't even need body language/statement analysis on this bold-face liar. Well, JMO of course.

Andrea Sneiderman remains in jail

Andrea Sneiderman remained in jail Wednesday night, more than day after a DeKalb County judge granted her bail on murder charges.

Under bail terms set by Superior Court Judge Gregory Adams, Sneiderman, 36, must pay at least $250,000 of her $500,000 bond in cash and remain with her parents under house arrest. If she posts bond, she'll be required to wear an ankle monitor and surrender her passport.
