Worse than barking dogs, I had heard he had 4 of his dogs killed. Then the neighbor, who had complained, ends up dead. Does not look good.

Few details released about skeletal remains found in Dr. Phillips area

(VIDEO)

By Amy Pavuk, Orlando Sentinel
9:59 a.m. EST, November 19, 2012

Orange County Sheriff's Office officials remained tight-lipped Monday about the skeletal remains that were found over the weekend in the Dr. Phillips area.

A passerby spotted the remains in the woods near the Phillips Village shopping center on Turkey Lake Road late Sunday morning.

Detectives have not released the condition of the remains, gender, race, or cause of death.

~Snipped~

Sheriff's Office officials would not speculate whether the remains could be linked to the cases of missing persons Jennifer Kesse, Tracy Ocasio or Michelle Parker.

Twinkies won't die that easily after all.

Hostess Brands Inc. and its second largest union will go into mediation to try and resolve their differences, meaning the Irving, Texas-based company won't go out of business just yet. The news came Monday after Hostess moved to liquidate and sell off its assets in bankruptcy court citing a crippling strike last week.

The bankruptcy judge hearing the case says that the parties haven't gone through the critical step of mediation and asked the lawyer for the bakery's union to ask his client, who wasn't present, if he would agree to participate.

The case is being heard by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York in White Plains, N.Y.

Jury sentences Jessica Tata to 80 years in prison
By Jayme Fraser | November 20, 2012 | Updated: November 20, 2012 10:57am

Jurors could have given her a wide range of punishment, from five years to life in prison. Tata, who also received a $10,000 fine, said nothing when state district Judge Marc Brown offered her a chance to speak after hearing the jury's decision. She will be eligible for parole in 30 years.

Authorities in Colorado are trying to determine what happened to a young, blonde lingerie model who has been missing for more than a month.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, 19-year-old Kara Nichols was last seen in Colorado Springs on Oct. 9, the same day as the last call from her cellphone at 11:45 p.m.

Police said Nichols was traveling to Denver for work, but it appears she never arrived and her current whereabouts are a mystery.

"What causes us concern is that it is really uncharacteristic of her not to be in contact with her friends and family," Sgt. Joe Roybal told The Huffington Post.

Police are hunting two women they think may be linked to the disappearance of an aspiring teen model who vanished last month.

Kara Nichols, 19, went missing after leaving her Colorado Springs home on October 9 and was last seen with a brown-haired woman who detectives believe may have information about the young woman's whereabouts.

On Tuesday, El Paso County Sheriff's Office called the case suspicious, adding that Ms Nichols may have been exploited by an individual or group claiming they could further her modelling career.

'Even if this young lady has no information, just the simple fact that she could tell us how they parted, what her parting words might have been, could be huge,' El Paso County Sheriff's Detective Cliff Porter told ABC News.

Crews search frantically for missing 13-year-old Dylan Redwine

Blair Shiff

Video - Click to play

LA PLATA COUNTY - Dylan Redwine, 13, has been missing since Monday. Volunteers have been going door-to-door, searching for Dylan.

Dylan's father, Mark, reported him missing. Dylan was staying at his father's home in Vallecito - about 22 miles northeast of Durango - since Sunday as part of a court-ordered Thanksgiving holiday visitation. Mark said Dylan was at his house on County Road 500 when he left to do some errands around 7:30 a.m. Monday. Mark said Dylan was gone when he returned around 11:30 a.m.

"We have not ruled out any possibility" Dan Bender, Public Information Officer for La Plata Sheriff's Office, said. "This is the fifth day Dylan has been missing with few clues to work from. We have to consider everything from foul play to a runaway. We hope the broadened exposure to the public through the news media, the work of our investigators, and the national reach offered by the FBI and National Center For Missing and Exploited Children will result in a positive conclusion with Dylan reunited with his family."

DURANGO - Volunteers in southwestern Colorado spent part of their Thanksgiving searching for a 13-year-old boy who went missing while visiting his father.

Sixty people looked for Dylan Redwine around Vallecito Reservoir and Forest Lakes on Thursday. They also passed out fliers and knocked on doors seeking clues about his whereabouts.

~Snipped~

Dylan was last seen at 7:30 a.m. on Monday in his father's house. Dylan was gone when his dad got back to the house around 11:30 a.m. A resident said they saw Dylan walking along County Road 501 in Vallecito Monday afternoon with another boy around his age. The resident did not know the boy was missing until Tuesday.

~Snipped~

"The Sheriff's Office is not ruling out the possibility of an abduction but are also exploring the possibility that Dylan may be a runaway," the La Plata County Sheriff's Office said. "Some family members indicated Dylan may not have been in favor of the court-ordered visit this week. Dylan lived and attended school for years in the area and is known by many people."

Won't let me copy!

The reporter's questions, already bolded, are most interesting!

--- Which way was she pushing the child in the swing?
A. Toward the fence.
--- So her back was toward the street?
A. From my understanding that is correct.
--- So how does a 5 yo see a 3 yo get into a car?

Surveillance pics show the mother was at the park with 2 children, not the 3 she said.
Comments are good: What mother takes a child to the park at 5 PM on a cold day?

LITTLE FALLS, Minn. — The home of a Minnesota man held in the shooting deaths of two teenage cousins has been burglarized at least once before.

Byron David Smith of Little Falls told police he shot 18-year-old Haile Kifer and 17-year-old Nicholas Brady during a break-in Thursday. But authorities say his actions exceeded reasonable self-defense and plan to charge him Monday.

Smith's brother, Bruce Smith, tells the Star Tribune ( ) it was the eighth burglary at Byron Smith's home in recent years. http://bit.ly/WPRzYi

The only report the Morrison County sheriff's office has is for one break-in on Oct. 27. It shows Byron Smith reported losing cash, gold coins, two guns, photo equipment and a ring.

Arkansas police have arrested a neighbor in the killing of a six-year-old girl whose body was found two days before Thanksgiving.

Developing Stories - Page 2 Logo-558x250

Phoebe is building a nest!

Phoebe is the lovely, non-migratory Channel Islands Allen's Hummingbird, in Orange County, CA (southern CA).

The WebCam is now focused on her nest and you can watch her "live" during CA day light hours.

Phoebe has her own thread here at RC. I updated her thread and included a Link where you can click on and watch her!

Phoebe is beautiful; especially when the sun shines on her. Awesome colors! Amazing to watch this beautiful hummer!

Jersey Bridgeman

--- Read carefully.
The mother of Jersey had left her with the perp and the perp's wife, Holly. Story is the perp was the one babysitting, not the wife. And perp went missing but wife was "unconcerned", my words.

Why wasn't this info given to the LE IMMEDIATELY?
Would have saved on the search for the child.

Have to wonder why the mother did not have original custody or custody a year ago. I expect there is much more to this story.

Murder May Spread Like Infectious Disease
By Tia Ghose, LiveScience Staff Writer | LiveScience.com – 14 hrs ago

" In their study, Zeoli and her colleagues found Newark experienced epidemic levels of violence during the 26 years: Homicide rates ranged from between 3.5 and five times higher than the national average on average.

Zeoli's team found that murders mimicked patterns of infectious disease. At the beginning of their study, homicides spiked in central Newark, but over the study period, central Newark killings waned while the murder epidemic moved into the southern and western wards of the city. Like other infectious diseases, murder rates spiked in certain areas and spread to nearby regions."

This is exciting!

DNA from "In Cold Blood" killers may help solve 1959 Florida murder

" ORLANDO, Florida (Reuters) - A Florida detective trying to crack a 53-year-old unsolved murder case will ask a Kansas judge for permission to exhume and extract DNA from the bodies of two notorious killers made famous in Truman Capote's 1966 true-crime novel, "In Cold Blood."

Sarasota County Sheriff Detective Kim McGath told Reuters she believes the two men convicted for the 1959 murder of Herbert Clutter, his wife and two children in Holcomb, Kansas, might be responsible for a similar killing one month later of a family in Osprey, Florida."

" On the run from Kansas, Hickok and Smith, both ex-convicts, stayed briefly in Sarasota County, which includes the town of Osprey, and were in the area at the time of the Walker family killings, McGath said."

" McGath said detectives at the time never had a prime suspect. But they did have evidence that now could be combined with DNA technology that was unavailable in the 1950s. Christine Walker, 23, was raped by her killers, and detectives found semen."

John Wayne Gacy:

John Wayne Gacy's blood could solve old murders
By By DON BABWIN | Associated Press – Mon, Dec 3, 2012

" The Illinois testing, which began in the summer, is the latest attempt by Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart to solve the many mysteries still surrounding one of the nation's most notorious serial killers. Dart's office recently attempted to identify the last unnamed Gacy victims by exhuming their remains to create modern DNA profiles that could be compared with the DNA of people whose loved ones went missing in the 1970s, when Gacy was killing young men."

Bill to End Rape Kit Backlog Introduced in Congress

" There are an estimated 400,000 kits currently backlogged in the United States and one major reason is a lack of funding for local police. This bill will allow local law enforcement to apply for the funds they say are needed to test every rape kit."

Handcuffed Student Shoots Self While In Police Custody

By JUAN A. LOZANO 12/05/12 08:26 PM ET EST

Handcuffed Galena Park ISD student shoots himself in squad car

A suicidal high school student taken into custody at North Shore Senior High School, sitting handcuffed in the back of a patrol car, apparently grabbed a gun hidden in his clothing and shot himself in the back of the head, authorities said.

HOUSTON — A student taken into custody for his own protection Wednesday at his Houston-area high school shot himself with a hidden gun while handcuffed inside a patrol car, authorities said.

The student, a senior whose name was not released, was conscious when taken to a hospital and was in critical but stable condition Wednesday evening.

Police say deputies searched the 17-year-old before placing him in the back of the patrol car and are investigating how the gun was not discovered.

I see that, thank God! This woman Sylvia is none to stable and the mom barely knows her. This from the article;

Burley was unable to provide any additional information on the woman, such as a phone number or physical address, police spokeswoman Kim Jones said. But the mother told police Sylvia had previously lived at a homeless shelter and at another location near the H.E. Holmes MARTA station, the incident report states.

INO, The mom should not have custody of this child. Who will she give him to next?
Scary

Zach Sobiech and the song "Clouds."

CLOUDS LYRICS

Well I fell down, down, down
Into this dark and lonely hole
There was no one there to care about me anymore
And I needed a way to climb and grab a hold of the edge
You were sitting there holding a rope

And we'll go up, up, up
But I'll fly a little higher
We'll go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer
Up here my dear
It won't be long now, it won't be long now

When I get back on land
Well I'll never get my chance
Be ready to live and it'll be ripped right out of my hands
Maybe someday we'll take a little ride
We'll go up, up, up and everything will be just fine

And we'll go up, up, up
But I'll fly a little higher
We'll go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer
Up here my dear

It won't be long now, it won't be long now
If only I had a little bit more time
If only I had a little bit more time with you

We could go up, up, up
And take that little ride
And sit there holding hands
And everything would be just right
And maybe someday I'll see you again
We'll float up in the clouds and we'll never see the end

And we'll go up, up, up
But I'll fly a little higher
We'll go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer
Up here my dear
It won't be long now, it won't be long now

This one woman is making a difference. In ten years, she has managed to assist over 900 women who were snatched and held captive. Some of these women have been "sold" to other countries:

Argentine mom rescues sex slaves, but not daughter

" Trimarco's campaign to find her daughter led the State Department to provide seed money for a foundation in Veron's name. To date, it has rescued more than 900 women and girls from sex trafficking. The foundation also provides housing, medical and psychological aid, and it helps victims sue former captors."

Distraught family members searched in deep snow Wednesday and issued a public plea for help finding a 27-year-old Oakdale woman missing since Sunday.

Danielle Jelinek, who is from Cottage Grove but had recently been living with her sister, was last seen at the home of a 28-year-old man in Chisago Lake Township, said Rick Duncan, Chisago County sheriff. Deputies had been called to check on her welfare, and were unable to find her.

Jelinek's car and belongings -- including shoes, purse, cellphone and car keys -- were still at the home, leading to searches of the area, Duncan said. Dogs and a State Patrol helicopter also were used.

The man is being held in jail pending possible charges of drug possession and violation of probation in Anoka County.

Friends and family of Danielle Jelinek continued their search Thursday for the Oakdale woman who went missing last weekend, reportedly without her coat, purse or asthma inhaler.

The second day of the search ended without success after more than three hours of scouring the rural Chisago County area -- now swampy and covered with wet snow -- near where Jelinek was reportedly last seen.

Jelinek, 27, was reported missing Sunday by family members who say she would not voluntarily disappear. They suspect foul play. Sheriff officials say they've found no signs of such.

Search for missing Oakdale woman resumes in Chisago County

By The Post Review on December 13, 2012 at 12:03 pm

Authorities and the family of Danielle Jelinek are asking for the public’s help in locating the 27-year-old Oakdale woman.

Jelinek left a private residence in Chisago City on foot in the early morning hours on Sunday, Dec. 9, and has not been seen or heard from since. Because no one has heard from her, authorities are concerned for her welfare, according to a crime alert released by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Meantime, authorities are asking people to keep an eye out for Danielle on their properties or other places someone might seek shelter. They and family members are urging anyone with information about Danielle’s disappearance or whereabouts to call 911 or the Chicago County Sheriff’s Office at 651-257-4100.

Developing Stories - Page 2 Empty Dawna Natzke - AR

Post by Ann - Tx Thu Dec 13, 2012 1:51 am

I searched for a recent update regarding the status of the Dawna Natzke case - AR and could not find any thing by mainstream media.

If I remember correctly, 12/21/11 is when Dawna was last seen at the Christmas party leaving with Kevin Duck. Her body was found on 12/31/11 (I think).

I checked a Facebook page, Seeking Justice for Dawna Natzke - Update. Per the Facebook page, there is no break in the case yet. No one arrested for the murder of Natzke.

We all know Facebook pages regarding cases can be rumor mills. I don't know if the following are facts but here are a few things from the Facebook page:

Donna Worrell

I have a picture of Kevins mom at the jail in Garland County. I cantt get it to download on here. She was arrested for Harrassment.Maybe the next one arrested will be Kevin for murder.

I hope Dawna's friends arrange a 1 year candlelight vigil in her memory. I know we all get busy with our own lives, but let's not forget her.

I think of her and how terribly wrong justice has been in this case.

The angels must weep.
Sad

From the fb site given: Feb 2012
" "Sources close to the case have informed the Hinky that Garland County has had to ‘START ALL OVER’ on the investigation and case building in the murder of Dawna Natzke because the HSVPD botched it so bad virtually nothing from their original case can be used.""
