(AP) CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - A 1-month-old baby was found dead Friday in the trunk of a car in Florida, and the boy's father has been taken into custody, police said.

The infant was identified as Josiah Santil, said Coral Springs police Lt. Joe McHugh. The boy's father, Janus Saintil, 24, was arrested Friday outside a Coral Springs apartment. Charges were not immediately filed. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.

An autopsy will be performed on the child. An official cause of death has not yet been released.

Janus Saintil, 24, of Deerfield Beach, killed his son Josiah Saintil when he put the child in the trunk of a stolen car while the baby was still strapped into his car seat and covered him with a diaper bag and blanket, cops said.


A Florida man has been charged with murdering his 7-week-old son after cops discovered the boy dead in the trunk of a stolen car on Friday.

Coral Springs police found the body of Josiah Saintil strapped in a car seat beneath a diaper bag and a blanket in the trunk of a stolen 2008 Kia sedan at around 3 p.m., The Palm Beach Post reported.

Police said Janus Saintil, 24, left the boy to die after kidnapping him from his mother, who is Saintil's ex-girlfriend.

OMG! What a monster!!

I hope LE are thinking on their feet & have already arranged for air sampling of this trunk! Dr. Vass, where are you with your Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer?? A KNOWN case where a CHILD was decomposing in a trunk - they MUST collect data on this car/trunk so future monsters can be put in jail & not get away like KC did, we need enough reliable science to put the next KC away. Wouldn't it be amazing if they fully evaluated this trunk & could PROVE that Caylee was in in KC's trunk? This baby's tragic death could have one small positive note... making sure everyone, including the dim-wits from Pinelles County, have no reasonable doubt about KC's guilt.

Adding - should we e-mail Dr. Vass & make sure he knows about this case? Or is that 'too much'? I am just fascinated by him & his profession & want so much to have closure on the Caylee Anthony case...
