More Anthony Case Documents Being Released

A spokeswoman for state attorney Lawson Lamar said the office anticipates releasing between 1,000 and 2,000 pages of material Tuesday morning.

The material could include forensic reports from the FBI. As WESH 2 News reported last week, the FBI admits it destroyed residue of a heart shaped sticker on the duct tape found across Caylee Anthony's skull.

That happened while technicians were testing for fingerprints on the tape.

YAY! I hope we get to see something really damning this time. An absolute nail in her coffin, so to speak. I was so dissappointed in learning that the FBI lab didn't get a photo of the sticker residue on the tape. Hopefully, this document dump will reveal more.

More documents were released this this morning in the death-penalty case against Casey Anthony, the mother accused of killing her daughter last year.

The State Attorney's Office released about 1,000 pages. The Orlando Sentinel is reviewing the documents right now.

Dozens of FBI reports and e-mails were released, documenting the vast amount of items that were inspected by the federal agency.

An e-mail between FBI officials discusses hair found inside Casey Anthony's car that is microscopically similar to Caylee's. The e-mail states it is different from Casey Anthony's hair.

The e-mail author, from the FBI's Trace Evidence Unit, also stated, "...I can't say absolutely that the hair came from a dead body but it is consistent..." the Aug. 1, 2008 e-mail stated.

Reports show federal investigators examined items such as a spare tire cover and pants for blood, but none was detected.

Investigators collected everything from toothbrushes and a thermometer to debris from the spare tire cover of Casey Anthony's car.

Dominic Casey, the private investigator working for George Anthony and Cindy Anthony, kept a cheat sheet on the people involved in the Casey Anthony case, including reporters and hecklers, according to the documents.His report shows pictures and notes on the probability of the individuals carrying a weapon.

Included in his list:

* Nancy Grace. Talk show host. Disseminates hatred towards [sic] family.
* Kathi Belich. Reporter. Disseminates hatred towards [sic] family.
* Richard Grund. Threats against family. His SRT Website boasts: "My Glock Rocks." Note: Potential for carrying.
* Zenaida Gonzalez. Accusations against family…Note: Gang member tatoo's [sic].
* John Morgan. Exhibitionist. Attorney for Zenaida.
* Katherine Harris. Protester. Threats against family. Note: Potential for carrying.
* Leonard Padilla. Disseminates hatred towards [sic] family. Padilla carries knife at "lower back area" in a sheath.

George and Cindy Anthony signed a contract with the private investigator on Oct. 31, 2008.

"The investigator will focus primarily on investigating the circumstance surrounding the disappearance of Caylee Marie Anthony, follow up on all information and leads resulting from the investigation, leads provided by the client search and pursue the return of Caylee Marie Anthony," the contract stated.

Dominic Casey also would serve as security for the couple.

Dominick Casey exchanged dozens of e-mails with Cindy Anthony about potential leads, other potential suspects and report of Caylee sightings.

He did background checks on people seen outside of the Anthony's home on Hopespring Drive.

Cindy Anthony e-mailed him, asking him to help shut down a Web site that offered "Caylee Bears."

"This is not funny," Cindy Anthony wrote Dominic Casey on May 24.

He responded with an e-mail the next day: "I will take care of the sick bastards, this breaks my heart. I will deal with them severely!!!!!!"

In another e-mail on Sept. 9, 2008, Dominic Casey offered Casey Anthony's brother, Lee, an internship with his private investigative firm.

It's unclear if Lee accepted the offer.

Other documents contain e-mails to Federal Bureau of Investigations agent Nick Savage from Cindy Anthony.

Cindy Anthony writes in an e-mail dated Sept. 18, 2008: "Nick, this person has called George [Anthony] every night this week and is threatening to drag him up and down the interstate until he has no skin left. I want to do something about this threat."

Casey Anthony's defense team already has a copy of these pages. The State Attorney's Office is releasing the reports in response to a public records request made by the media.

Casey Anthony, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie. The toddler was reported missing in July 2008 -- about a month after she was last seen alive.

Her remains were found five months later in December in woods less than a mile from her family home in east Orange County.

The medical examiner determined the toddler was killed but could not give a cause of death.

Casey Anthony's trial is expected to begin next summer.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- WFTV has obtained more than 1,000 pages of new documents released by the State Attorney's office Tuesday in the case against Casey Anthony.

Among the documents are dozens of pages of investigative reports from Anthony family private investigator Dominic Casey, hundreds of pages of FBI investigative reports and DNA testing and the transcript of an investigative interview with Casey Anthony's former friend Annie Downing.

Included in the Dominic Casey documents is a "Characters of Interest" chart (see chart) that displays the name, description and photo of many of the key players in the case against Casey. Among the "characters" are bounty hunter Leonard Padilla, CNN host Nancy Grace and WFTV's own Kathi Belich.

The FBI investigative reports include a slew of DNA reporting on a variety of evidence in the case and the DNA paternity results (see paternity results) for Casey's ex-fiance, Jesse Grund.

Also among the 1,000 pages released Tuesday are detailed product specifications for Henkel Duck tape (see product specs), the brand of tape believed to have been covering Caylee Anthony's mouth when her remains were found. The same brand of tape was also found in the Anthony home.

FBI Intelligence Analyst Karen B. Cowan wrote in an e-mail dated Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, that "a very interesting photo exists of the trunk liner, which you have, which highlights the very large stain. If you look closely at this photo, there appears to be the outline or silhouette of a child in the fetal position. You can make out what may be the back, bottom, and legs most clearly. The image is best viewed on a computer screen, rather than a printout, but several of us can see this image and agree there is good chance we are seeing something significant."

The e-mail was addressed to Erin P. Martin of the FBI, and can be found on page 34 of this document.

Im not sure if we're supposed to post on this thread but, I have to say that this info about the outline of a child in the fetal position sounds like some great material for the state and damning for Bozo. If you read on they say that there was no DNA or decomposing liquids on the that stain. That sucks...Its very chilling to read that though.

Posting anywhere in this section is fine Indy. Snaz is in charge of this section and if we post in the wrong place, I'm sure she'll take care of it. LOL.

It is hard to believe that there was no DNA on the stain. This document dump is quite telling. I have found many things that I'd like to discuss. Maybe we can all get together this evening after we've had the chance to go over it all.

New documents reveal Cindy's strange quest

Strangest tidbit from the documents released today in the Casey Anthony case?

"Cindy Anthony wanted private detectives to look for a live Caylee as late as two months ago," WFTV-Channel 9 anchor Vanessa Echols said at noon.

Think about that one. Casey Anthony is charged with the first-degree murder of her daughter -- and Cindy's granddaughter -- toddler Caylee Anthony. The child's remains were found in December, and the family had a memorial service in February.

WFTV's Kathi Belich said Cindy Anthony and her private investigator "exchanged possibly hundreds of e-mails about how they could dig up dirt about key people in the case." Those people included bounty hunter Leonard Padilla, meter reader Roy Kronk and Jesse Grund, Casey's former fiance.

WESH-Channel 2's Bob Kealing also looked at efforts by Cindy Anthony and private eye Dominic Casey to find dirt on Kronk, who discovered Caylee's remains, and former fiance Grund. Kealing noted: "After receiving some of the information from Cindy Anthony via e-mail, Casey's attorney Jose Baez replied, 'Good work, Rosebud.' "

WKMG-Channel 6 focused on DNA evidence, notably a hair, found in Casey's car trunk, that showed signs of decomposition. "Now we know the FBI itself is not willing to say it came from a dead body," WKMG's Tony Pipitone said. "As one analyst wrote in an e-mail released today, 'If I find more than one hair with decomp, it makes the case stronger that it's from a body rather than from some other random possibility of why one hair would look like that.' But only one such hair has been found. So again the defense will try to prevent any mention of it getting in front of the jury."

WKMG's Louis Bolden looked at the family's finances and noted that the clan had financial problems before Casey's arrest. Bolden highlighted that Brad Conway, George and Cindy's attorney, is volunteering his services. But in the documents released today, a page from a contract with private investigator Dominic Casey is left out, Bolden said. "We still don't know how Dominic Casey is being paid," Bolden said.

On Central Florida News 13, Scott Harris highlighted that there were a lot of negative results in the FBI reports. "Nothing directly connects anybody to much of anything," he said.

Harris said there was confusion in the FBI lab over three pieces duct tape found on Caylee's skull. "They eventually identified some DNA residue, but they couldn't connect it to anybody in the case," Harris said. Instead, they connected it to someone working at the FBI, Harris added.

Central Florida News 13 also posted charts and graphs in the case, and Harris noted that the material would be difficult for people who aren't experts. "If you can offer us any insights into what some of that stuff means, we'd be happy to hear from you," Harris told viewers.

Also on Central Florida News 13, Jacqueline Fell highlighted that the Anthonys weren't very trusting of Casey's friends and the family feared their lives were in danger when protesters were outside the Anthony home. Someone kept calling the house and said they'd drag George up and down the interstate, Fell said. The latest documents released also contain a detailed list of people who barred from Caylee's memorial in February, Fell said.

He claims Casey and Caylee came into his store a week before Father’s Day and Casey inquired about a computer monitor. He gave Caylee a toy and he noted Casey didn’t behave like a normal mother. Then, the day AFTER Father’s Day, he ran into Casey and Caylee coming out of Walmart. He recognized them. He noted that Caylee was walking about 10 feet behind Casey and Casey made the little girl open the heavy door by herself. HELP. I need all of your expertise!

Manomanomanoman. I had to take a couple of days off after that doc dump!
I want to ask about the significance of the snake, if anyone knows. When the snake first "appeared" (Kronk), there was a woman "expert" on HLN one day; it was the ONLY time I had ever seen her on MG show speaking about the Caylee case. What she said still has my head spinning, yet I've never heard another word about it. She made the statement, something to the effect, "well, now we have this snake and it appears this snake had consumed part of this child's body"...They went right to commercial break. Never another word.
So, in one of the documents the other day, I ran across something from the FBI about the snake. It was from LE wanting FBI to test the snake for "poisoning" to see if that was a cause of death. Now, please correct me if I read that wrong, but that's what I read. My question is: The snake found was dead. They obviously tried to find out what caused this snake's death. I thought the snake had been run over until I read that document the other day.
So, IF the expert on MG/HLN was correct, and the snake ate something/remains that killed it, is that why they wanted the snake tested for poisoning? Were they trying to see if the remains had some type of poisoning/toxins on them? Perhaps some type of bug killer? IDK. I'm just asking if anyone else thinks this is strange. The FBI wrote back that it would not help to test the snake for poisoning because no tests had ever been done re:poisoning of snakes.

Am I the only one who saw this "expert" on HLN/MG that said this about the snake. Did anyone else read in the docs about testing the snake?
