What Brought You To The Anthony Case?
I remember watching Greta Van Susteran one night and I happened upon THIS interview. I was so completely flabbergasted at the behavior of this grandmother that I was forever invested in this case. What's so funny is that this grandmother STILLS befuddles me..... What drew you in on this case? What's the first exposure you remember?
Just for fun, I HAVE to post this interview. I didn't actually watch this one until after it had aired, but it only confirmed my befuddlement about this grandmother.
(You just gotta love Megyn Kelly!!!!)
And then, of course, there was this one just a week later.
And nearly two years later, I am still befuddled. What say you?

Re: What Brought You To The Anthony Case?
I can't remember the exact details, but I first heard about the Anthony case on Nancy Grace in July of 2008 as I was channel surfing. The first few things that got my attention were the 31 days before reporting her missing, the lies to police, the video of Casey and Tony Lazarro at Blockbuster where Casey acted like she didn't have a care in the world, and Cindy telling the 911 operator that it "smelled like there’s been a dead body in the damn car." I started Googling for more information on the case, and that is what led to me meeting some of you and eventually starting RC with Fysty.

I also first heard of this case on Greta...I thought it was weird...I then spent my evenings watching both Nancy Grace and Greta...The more I watched the weirder it got...I think I saw a link to TCD at Greta so started lurking there. Dropped Greta when she went all political and dropped Nancy when I decided that I could do better on the net...Hardly ever watch Nancy anymore...I've met some wonderful people due to this case and eventually wound up here with all my old and new friends...

snaz... i dont think i ever saw that last interview you posted... i almost barfed when CA said she was not convinced that KC knew where the car was when it was abandoned... she wasnt convinced that KC was the last one that had the car. ... hmmm... that is funny, cause TL picked her up at the car...
i 1st heard of little caylee soon after cindy made that fateful 911 call... i think it was the picture of caylee herself and the video from the nursing home that just thrust this case directly into my heart. i saw very early on that there was no one in caylee's corner, and that just made it all the more surreal to me. .. the actions of the family made it evident that justice was not something they were seeking.
and... i must say, i do LOVE megan kelly!!

I remember HLN, during one of their commercial breaks, had a news for the day update, and they showed the clip of Casey being taken away in handcuffs, wearing the blue hoody, with that "Hey, I'm on tv look" on her face & that smirky smile, and I think they also played Cindy's 911 tape, that her granddaughter was missing for a month already. At that point right there, Casey was guilty in my mind, and Cindy actually sounded like she cared, and even would have her own daughter arrested to get to the truth of where Caylee was.

AJ, you're right too, it didn't take long for Cindy to do a complete turn around. George, he held out a little longer, and then he started too. But then they made him go to his Grand Jury hearing where he had to face all of his initial statements.

Re: What Brought You To The Anthony Case?
In October 2008 I had occassion to go to Miami to care for my daughter what was ill...Upon her recovery and as we were shopping I saw a child that resembled Caylee, however I did not call the hotline. When ever we would go to a mall and I would see a woman with a child I would ask if she knew Zenaida and if she knew Caylee. I even went to Little Havana...My daughter speaks fluent Spanish and I'd have her asking questions too. Everytime it was a dead end. I began to believe what I had felt all along, that precious Caylee was with God.

I was in Florida visiting my mother. We were watching television, when the local news came on. It was CA voice that rocked me to the core. Her words about the car smelling like "a dead body" in the same call as not being able to find her grand daughter, hit me like a ton of bricks. I think it was at that moment that I KNEW Caylee was dead.
Re: What Brought You To The Anthony Case?
I must have watched the same clip Julie did on HLN. I remember walking through the room on my way to put something away and heard the 911 call. I stopped in my tracks and backed up to see KC in her blue hoodie strutting as she was being led by the officers. That's what drew me in. "Somethings wrong" and the words after nearly broke my heart for Cindy. I thought she would move heaven and earth for "that little girl". Boy, was I wrong.

I assisted in a search in 1999 for Erica Baker, she was from my area. I always look for signs of her anytime we are in the Germantown Dam Park and Ceasar Creek State Park area, she has always been on my mind over the years. Her picture was in the windows of every store, business and anywhere else it could be posted. And it was haunting, right in front of you, and knowing she was probably so close by. You saw her face everywhere, for years, and everyone witnessed her mother's desperate pleas for someone to bring her home. Her body has never been found.

So I not only began following Erica's case, and unfortunately, so many others as well. There was another local case, years later, of little Marcus Fiesel. Marcus suffered a horrible death at the hands of his foster parents, he was first reported "missing" from a local park. A lame story concocted by his foster mother. Massive searches were done for Marcus. His bio mother never gave a shit about him either. Bless his little heart, he was a special little guy.

Then there's Danielle Van Dam, Samantha Runnion, The Groene family, Carly Brucia, Jessica Lunsford......and of course we know, it does not end there.
When I first heard the "TotMom" phrase, 31 days and then CA's statement " it smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car", I immediately felt that Caylee's own mother was solely responsible for her disappearance and death. I could not, and still cannot, fathom Casey Anthony's arrogance and total emotional void at the loss of her own flesh and blood. So, here I am. Waiting for justice for Caylee.

I've often wondered about Sabrina Aisenberg. Whatever happened to her? She'd be about 12 years old now.

Julie, I never really knew what to think of that case. I watched a 48 hours special on the family. I remember there was an unidentified blonde hair and a shoe print near Sabrina's bed. I know the parents were put through hell, charged with conspiracy, charges dropped and then they sued. And the prosecutor was demoted due to illegal wiretapping. You have to hope that she was abducted because a couple wanted a child to love, she was barely 5 months old. Unlike Casey Anthony, who so obviously felt Caylee was in her way of the good life and spitefully rid herself of the "little problem" between her and Cindy. I, too, thought Cindy Anthony would stand up for her granddaughter from the initial 911 calls.

Piper - maybe she'll be found someday, we can only hope. It must be hell for the parents, not knowing for 12 years, what happened to her.
I thought the same thing about Cindy at the beginning too. It sure didn't take her long to change!

I was hooked the minute I saw that beautiful little angel's face on the news. Imeadiately thought her POS mother had killed her. Only at first I thought she accidently overdosed her trying to make her sleep so she could party. This tragedy has brought a blessing to me through all of you. If it hadn't been for my obsession with this case I wouldn't have met all of you warm and wonderful friends.
