KC's Visitors in Jail
According to Casey's visitor logs she spent about 4 hours with Dr Steven N Gold who is a "specialist" in sexual abuse trauma. Could this be what all the fuss was the defense put up about having her visitors logs made public? Sounds to me like they are going to try to get her off Death Row by trying to say that she is unstable do to the abuse she suffered as a child. I wonder if George will finally come to his senses and "man up" or if he and Lee will willingly go under the bus for Casey. Me thinks that Cindy MAY let George take a dive but I don't think Mallory wants her husband and the father of her childern to be labled a sex offender. What do you think?

Re: KC's Visitors in Jail
I think it's pretty clear where the defense is headed with all this.... however, whether they go through with it or not is debatable. After all...... Cindy has said time and time again that KC never has any mental health issues, was never diagnosed with any mental conditions, etc..... not that that would keep the defense from using this as their defense.
Because I, for one, believe they WILL throw George under the bus... but along with him will be Cindy AND Lee...... no one in KC's family is safe at this point.
KB, I don't subscribe to the theory that George OR Lee would willingly let KC destroy them as a person (or what reputation they have left) to save her sorry butt..... but I've been shocked before... and with this family, anything might happen!!!
Anthonys............ be afraid...... be VERY, VERY afraid!!!

Kari, I think George is furious over Casey's allegations and will finally stand up to Cindy if she asks him to willingly take a fall for Casey. I also agree with what you said about Mallory. If it was just up to Lee, he might be willing to take the fall seeing how excited he was to see his loving sister when he testified.
The visit by the new attorney is interesting. Perhaps Mason is on his way out.

Oh my.... this opens up a whole new world of speculation!!!! I've got so many thoughts rolling around in this head of mine......
What IF the defense is planning to say an accident happened to Caylee and KC dissasociated herself from real life.... hence, she was able carry on her life partying, etc, as though nothing ever happened??????
What IF they are planning to say GEORGE was molesting Caylee and either he killed Caylee, or KC felt she had to kill Caylee to protect her from what SHE had endured as a child?????
Of course, we all know this is all BS and won't fly.... the defense would still have to explain why poor little Caylee ended up with duct tape on her face tossed out into the woods like yesterday's trash..... and BTW, the prosecution sees what we see... and more... I believe they will be prepared for whatever excuse the defense may try to throw out to save KC's hide.
At least the defense is beginning to be creative now....

I have said all along I think there was something going on between KC and the boytoy's in that house. I'm not saying it was against her will however. I think KC and Lee have always acted weird around each other. And poor ol' GA, he certainly didn't get any 'loving' from the Grinch.
I can't imagine anyone wanting to 'fool around' with CA, can you? Not even wheelie boy.
She may tell the doctor it was against her will, but I'll never believe that. I hope GA and Lee can finally see what KC and Bozo are doing, and they can start telling the truth, without giggling.

Snaz...Of course that was the reason they wanted it sealed...it is a direct link as to what way the defense is going to show KC's actions during the time Caylee was missing...and also a reason why she was such a loose person...She just wasn't right, it affected her ability to form long loving, trusting relationships...

Is there a statue of limitation on sexual abuse? I don't think so, because we have a case in NC right now of a Priest abusing boys, and they are in their 30's now.
If they can bring charges against GA, he really might be leaving the family for a long time. If this gets KC out of prison early, do you think she will put any money in GA's account? I know CA won't. Maybe his money will come from 'the Sky or the River.'

awaiting justice wrote:Snaz, I am thinking you are right on the money about sealing the log... but only for the sole purpose of keeping this from the Ants... and not the general population..
I have also suspected that the defense will go with the angle of implying/accusing and distracting with the possibility that GA had been molesting Caylee...
The defense cud then do a couple of different things.. they cud say (imply/distract) that GA killed Caylee, (becasue she was going to tell on him or did tell KC that GA molested her) ..
Or they cud go on another angle and say that KC killed Caylee in trying to protect Caylee for having to go thru the same experience where she felt she had to save Caylee by killing her.... or they cud even say KC was jealous as GA was supposed to be her abuser.... not Caylee's..of course trying to show how messed up KC really was... that she was insane at the time....
It cud get pretty crazy and I think CA and LA wud do this to help KC.. I think they wud do anything even if it was to throw GA under the bus....I dont think GA wud comply though...when this is all over ..no matter what.. i think he will leave the family...
I think he sees it coming... I also dont think it will work..
See, AJ, I don't think ANY of the Ants would take the fall for KC..... I mean, we are talking some SERIOUS criminal charges here..... I just don't see George, Lee OR Cindy taking ANY responsibility for what KC did..... I could be wrong, but I just don't see it. And I think blaming at least one family member (if not more) is EXACTLY where the defense is headed...... and honestly, if they want to save KC from the DP (which, BTW, she deserves), that's all they can do.....
It's called mitigation.....

There won't be any actual charges for the alleged sexual abuse....... they arent trying to convince a jury to convict George,
they will be trying to convince a jury in the penalty phase of a murder trial that has already convicted Casey of murder, that there Casey was sexually abused and traumatized as a child to try to safe her life from the DP. THink Menendez Brothers. kh

There is no way going with the George killed Caylee theory will work. If that really happened, Casey would have spilled her guts the second she was questioned by police if not sooner.

I do think they will imply and try and confuse ppl with the " possibility" but I dont think it will ever be something where he wud be charged with as there wud have to be witnesses..etc...
No there would not, they would have KC's word and that's all we would need. LOL
No, seriously, the men who have brought charges against the Priest didn't have witnesses. At first it was only one guy, and they arrested him right away. Now, 2 more have come forward. But, they were going ahead with his trial with just the one guy.

Personally, I think the abuse allegations are BS..... just another story they're trying to put together to save a client they already know will be convicted of murdering her baby daughter........ It's just a contrived "mitigating circumstance" for the penalty phase to try to spare her life. Just more BS.

I think so too, kh.....
I mean, George is creepy enough for me to believe it (with all his "Hey, beautiful"s and "Hi, Gorgeous"es), but I don't believe anything that comes out of KC's mouth. I believe KC says whatever she thinks she needs to say at that moment to get what she wants.
IIRC, the first time she mentioned molestation (by Lee, I believe) was to Jesse Grund, when she wanted out of her parents house and into a house with him (with him paying for it, of course). I believe she thought telling Jesse that Lee molested her would make him want to get her out of her parents house. And when Rev. Grund put the brakes on that, she no longer needed him and dumped him.

The statute of limitations varies by state. Here is a link where you can look up different sites.
http://www.smith-lawfirm.com/statutestable.html
In Florida, it is 7 years past the age of majority, or 4 years after the victim leaves the dependency of the abuser. There is also a delayed discovery doctrine in cases of repressed memory or amnesia. The age of majority in Florida is 18, so I believe Casey's claim would fall within the statute of limitations since she is only 24.

I think the abuse angle is a total crock of poo too but it is going to be very interesting to see how this all plays out. I know GA is way creepy but I don't think for one minute that he abused that baby in any way or KC for that matter. Now LA & KC? That's a horse of a different color. I've always thought that their relationship was a tad bit strange. Snaz I think you are spot on regarding why KC dumped Jesse. KC will say or do anything to get what she wants.

KC has had some new attorneys visiting with her recently. The Caylee Daily posted that she has been visited by attorneys Richard Alan Gabriel and Dorothy Clay Sims.
On 7/30/10, JB met with KC along with Jeanene Barrett (the mitigation specialist), Richard Gabriel and Dorothy Sims. That must have been quite a meeting.
It appears that as of this past Saturday, August 21, Jeanene Barrett is still meeting with KC.....

Decision Analysis and Renowned Trial Consultant Richard Gabriel's Jury Selection and Trial Strategy Key to Hung Jury in Spector Murder Trial
~Snipped~
The difference in this trial, as well as countless other high profile cases including OJ Simpson, Heidi Fleiss, Enron Broadband and Whitewater, was Decision Analysis, a trial consulting company based in Los Angeles with offices in Chicago and San Francisco. Richard Gabriel, President of Decision Analysis and co-author of the book, Jury Selection: Strategy and Science, says, "To overcome the extreme amount of bias against the defendant in this case, we employed new methods of jury selection and trial communication techniques. These methods include statistical modeling, nonverbal micro-expressions, documentary film and journalism techniques, and resistance persuasion strategies. As a result of our research, we made a 180 degree change in the way the case was presented."

Re: KC's Visitors in Jail
Based on the people who have been visiting KC, I think the defense is gearing up for mitigation, I think they pretty much see the writing on the wall and know there's a greater chance than not that KC will be convicted of murder.
And once she is convicted, I think the defense will have some sort of "psychological explanation," as the reasons for her behavior..... partying, unemotional about Caylee, etc. And I won't be surprised at all if sexual molestation is mentioned in the process....
I don't think the defense's explanations will be accepted by the jury... but they have to try something to save her life. And if KC receives LWOP rather than DP, I don't think it will be because of anything presented by the defense during the mitigation phase. I think it may be because she is a relatively young female.

Ocala Lawyer Pays A Visit, Renowned For Cross-Examination, Other Lawyers Say

How many attys can they keep adding to the defense side, and expect the taxpayers to pay for?

The taxpayers are not paying for attorneys fees. Judge Perry only approved specified expenses for the attorneys... and I doubt he would approve paying for the expenses of any additional attorneys.
As of now though, no new attorneys have been added to the defense anyway... so it isn't an issue. These two attorneys simply visited KC in jail. If they join the defense, it will most likely be pro bono.
