JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Michelle McCoy disappeared January 10th and hasn't been seen since.

Her twin sister Melissa was the last person she spoke with before leaving home that night. Melissa told Action News her sister said she was meeting a friend, but was scared. Michelle told her sister "something just doesn't feel right."

Investigators Led To Kings Ferry Area In Case Of Missing 20-Year-Old

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- Detectives in Nassau County were searching the Kings Ferry area along the St. Marys River north of Hilliard on Wednesday in connection with the case of a missing 20-year-old Jacksonville woman.
Sheriff Tommy Seagraves said his agency was contacted by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office on Tuesday night with a tip that McCoy's remains might be found in the Kings Ferry area. He said detectives did a preliminary search with a K-9 team a couple hours after midnight but found nothing...

...A witness said he saw a woman believed to be McCoy being forced into a minivan not far from her Northwest Jacksonville home the night she disappeared. The witness said he recovered a shoe, rope and other evidence that led him to believe the woman was being kidnapped.

I am wondering why, after listening to the 911 tape, didn't LE pursue this?

Seems like there are too many times that LE fails to take these cases seriously.

Michelle McCoy: Body of woman found

A woman's body has been found in Northwest Jacksonville on Thursday evening.
A tip lead police to the 3700 block of Ribault River Lane in Florida where they found a woman's body. The remains are believed to be of missing Michelle McCoy, 20, that disappeared January 10.
Michelle left her house in Sherwood Forest and told her twin sister, Melissa that she was going with a man named K.T. Her father Otis Winn remembers her getting into a minivan that he didn't recognize, outside their home on Churchill Drive in Northwest Jacksonville.
About 15 minutes later, police received a phone call from a witness that said he saw a woman being kidnapped and being dragged into a minivan, but police were not able to find the minivan.

Sheriff Names Suspect in Michelle McCoy Case

According to Sheriff John Rutherford in a news conference this morning, McCoy's boyfriend, 52-year-old Larry Thompson is the suspect in the case.

Rutherford said Thompson is at large.

Thompson has a lengthy arrest record dating back to an unspecified charge in 1977.

The charges include rape, violation of injunction in a domestic violence case, aggravated battery on a pregnant female, battery, loitering and prowling, burglary and making threats. All of those arrests resulted in guilty verdicts.

Arrests for sexual battery, molestation on a victim 12-16 and battery on a law enforcement officer resulted in dropped charges.
