After a highly dramatic day in the Casey Anthony trial, Saturday's testimony has gotten a little more down to earth.

Prosecutors have called a national expert in forensic entomology, the study of insects, who analyzed samples from both the trunk of Casey Anthony's car and the crime scene where her daughter, Caylee's skeletal remains were found.

Forensic Entomologist Discusses Insects Found On Remains

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Testimony in the Casey Anthony murder trial focused on bugs and stickers Saturday.

Forensic entomologist Dr. Neal Haskell testified that Caylee Anthony's body was in the woods since June or early July of 2008. He said the types of bugs found at the crime scene indicated the body had been there a long time.

Haskell also testified the number of flies found on the body were not in the tens of thousands, and only one leg of a fly was found in the trash bag retrieved at Johnson's Wrecker Service, where Casey Anthony's car was towed.

Haskell also said bugs found in Casey Anthony's car trunk showed the toddler's body was there for a short time before being removed.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A forensic entomologist and crime scene investigators testified on Saturday in Casey Anthony's murder trial, and prosecutors brought more hard evidence to the jury, including the duct tape found at the scene where Caylee's remains were discovered.

So the body was decomposing in the trunk 3-5 days.

That would mean if Caylee was placed in the trunk June 16th she was taken from the trunk the 19th-21st.

I think I smell a freezer being used in this.

The odd thing about the car abandonment story is that KC started calling for a lift about 9:30am....yet when Tony finally arrived (11 or 1ish...can't remember how many ones I recall) he said KC was standing there with some frozen foods from the freezer at her parent's house. Was she home earlier that morning? Was Caylee removed from the freezer along with the other stuff that had once surrounded her?

Man, I don't know...but I can just see KC borrowing a shovel on the 18th to dislodge a frozen Caylee from the other stuff...failing miserably and not having time to fool with it anyhow since she had more fun things to do and just telling herself it would wait since it wasn't going to stink and alert anyone anyway....and George did say the key to the freezer was missing.

A question about the decomposing in the trunk for 3-5 days....if Caylee was put in the trunk frozen, say on the 27th, and she thawed out and decomposed for a few days, do you think there's any way someone could get in to the towing compound and remove the body then? Cindy did suggest someone did that. Did George and/or Cindy say WTF KC! You can't just leave her in there!...and then go get her out and put her in the woods? I mean, maybe KC didn't want to deal with it and just left her car there with the body in it for George to deal with? She did say George was going to take care of the car.

During the recap, they brought up the fourth piece of duct tape found about six feet from the skull and mentioned that Caylee would've needed to be restrained from ripping the duct tape off her face.

The recap also mentioned that Casey's first chloroform search was on March 17, 2008, around the same time she found out she couldn't go to Puerto Rico with her friends because Cindy would not watch Caylee. Casey ended up visiting a site on how to make chloroform 84 times.

I figure if KC wanted to go to PR she would have left Caylee with her parents one day and just hopped on a plane and gone. I don't think she was waiting for permission. IMO she didn't go because she ended up killing Caylee about that time and had to hang around and keep an eye on things...and if not that, then it was because she didn't have any money.

But you know, KC was an opportunist when it came to serving herself. So if she was telling Cindy that Zanny had Caylee during June then she could have gone to PR and said she left Caylee with Zanny for that too. My point is, she could have gone as if Zanny had the baby. But KC's reason for Zanny having Caylee was, for the most part, that she was working. Why did she have to tell Cindy she was working in order to use the Zanny thing? My answer: because they both knew there was no Zanny and if that body was found while KC was in PR KC would have been suspect for leaving the continent. From PR she could have gotten a passport and gone anywhere else she wanted to...and she could have sold booty to get some money. LOL

The time the searches for chloroform were made searches for ruptured spleen and head injury and internal bleeding were also made. True, she didn't google these things specifically and it seems they were linked to some wikipedia page she was looking at. Why would she care about a ruptured spleen?

Andrea Lyon discussed the case on 20/20 Friday night. She says there is no more proof that this was a homicide than there is that it was an accident. I will take Dr. G's testimony over Andrea Lyon's opinion any day of the week. 911 is called during accidental drownings, and accidental death victims usually aren't stuffed in a trunk, duct taped, triple bagged, and dumped in the woods. Maybe Casey could've got an accidental death scenario to fly if she admitted that Caylee's body was in her trunk and took responsibility for disposing of her body, but all that wacky opening statement attempting to throw George and Kronk under the bus is going to do is make jurors doubt that Caylee's death was an accident.
