What to do with Cindy Anthony...perjury
The prosecution went to great lengths to make sure they proved Cindy Anthony lied about the computer searches she said she did.
I take issues with this--did the Prosecution have a right to demand that Casey's parents testify in the first place? Any of you who are parents out there--would you want to testify against your flesh and blood child if the ultimate penalty is death? Hellowwwww.
I have been married 11 months now, and would not be forced to testify against my husband in a court of law. If anyone out there thinks that I would not lie for my children if they were facing a death penalty, they're mistaken. And I am not a liar. I would do ANYTHING to save their lives.
I say, how dare the prosecution even ask them to testify for a lethal injection of their daughter. It just shows pure stone cold-hearted people put that trial on. And they got what they deserve in that regard. Didn't they know they were probably hostile witnesses when they called them? I can only hope they get some Karma on them someday as parents.
If the state of FL prosecutes her for that, then they have no sense of family and of what is morally right and wrong.

Knock Knock Knock Aaaah Deb wake up. The DEFENSE started by throwing Geo under the bus so why do you think he has asked to take the stand? I for one am a single father and would tell you right now if one of my children did a crime like this and I knew it, I would take the stand and tell the truth because I teach my kids not to lie, steal,kill,ect... Morally right is to live what you teach your kids. So if you want a little future tot kill growing up in your home so be it. I want my kids to grow up to be good people. I hope Cindy gets 25 years and I hope they start throwing more charges at her like obstruction of justice. I am here for some JUSTICE for Caylee and nothing else. The justice has not YET arrived!
GOOD NIGHT NOW!

Cindy lied under oath, period. In my opinion, Cindy telling blatant lies that could be proven with facts only hurt her daughter's case. She should have just let it alone and not fabricated her search stories. Cindy offered up the computer search lies herself, and the prosecution proved her to be untruthful. Cindy and George were defense witnesses as well. That's what a trial is about - to get to the truth. No parent wants to see their child sentenced to death. Cindy should have known better, she made a huge mistake in that decision.

Most legal experts don't think Cindy will be charged. I wanted her charged at first, but since I heard the sentence for perjury was 15 years, I would hate to see her go to prison for that long. I would like to see her found in contempt of court and get fined and put on probation.

Re: What to do with Cindy Anthony...perjury
It was also proven that Cindy lied about making a call to George on the day she said she called him to ask him if he left the ladder up by the pool and the gate open. June 16, 2008. There was no call to George that evening.
So...Cindy began to cover this up when? At least by the time she told LE about the ladder being up by the pool which was after July 15th, 2008.
Nobody really knows what Cindy and Casey said to each other over the phone from June 16th to July 15th 2008. But we do know that Cindy kept a journal of sorts about all the stories KC told her about where she and Caylee were during those days. Why did Cindy keep a log of the stories?
We know she's a great note taker....just watching her in court writing down stuff during the trial...was she taking notes in hopes of being able to make more lies to cover what she needed to in order to get KC off the hook?
Was Cindy's breakdown when she heard the 911 tape of the call she made really about being sad over Caylee? Or was she extremely upset that she had started the ball rolling to get KC in the trouble she's in now? She hid her face as if in shame!
Deb, you talk about what a mother would do....I imagine Cindy would do anything to keep KC from being in jail and certainly from her being given life, not to mention the dp! But personally, I think this started when she smelled death in that car...or before that when she decided to keep a log of the phone calls for future reference.

I agree with you Breeze !! I wouldn't lie to cover up for any of my kids...What kid hasn't pilfered a buck or two from their parents? But kill a person or rob someone blind is another story...There came a time when I had to report my Brian for stealing my DVD player...It really was the last straw...He did his time and never stole from me again...I believe the time for support comes with the victim impact statement and at the time for sentencing...Then you can plead your heart out and profess unconditional love...A Crime is a crime...Once a child is raised properly and reaches the age of adulthood then it is all a matter of choices..

Maybe if Cindy & George, through their own example, didn't teach Casey how to lie as she was growing up, and if they would have taught her to take responsibility for her own actions, instead of coddling & babying her, they wouldn't be fighting to save her life, by doing on the stand what they seem to do best.......LIE!!!!!
Hopefully the parents of the next baby killer, murderer, rapist, etc. will not lie under oath to save their scumbag kid from jail time/death penalty, whatever. Hopefully all these people who say they would lie to save their own kid won't be faced with the same type of lying parents on a witness stand.
Sure it's easy to say you would lie to save your own kid, but if you were the victim, would you want a set of lying parents screwing up your Justice???
I didn't think so.

No one is gonna make me believe that Cindy didn't know that there was a very good possibility she was gonna get caught in her lies. Of course the prosecution busted her, that is their job. It was the defense and Cindy that made the choice to take a chance.
As adults we always have a choice. Good choice good consequence. Bad choice bad consequence. It's called free will.
Caylee had no choice. I've read your post and I have not seen one mention of Caylee and what she deserves.
You mention Karma, well you are right abut that. Karma is going to visit them all, starting with the person that murdered Caylee, her mother.

As a parent I would tell the truth on the stand, but I would beg for their life before the sentence was handed out. As for Cindy I have lost a lot of respect for her as a mother, she could have caused KC more damage by lieing. I think KC is a product of her mothers doing in a lot of ways and that is sad! She has told so many different stories it is hard to know what the truth is. I can understand 100% trying to protect your child, but her way of doing it has made things worse.
I guess you have to look at it like this, if it was your loved one killed how would you feel if the mother of the accused got up and lied for them (and that lie could affect the outcome?)

If you read the Robert Manwell thread, the accused 's dad testified against him and would not even look at him. He said later to the news media he never wants to see his son again because of what he did to this precious little boy. Daniel Sr. loved Robert like his own grandson, and he wanted to see justice done for him.
That's how a true parent reacts.

In seeking justice for Caylee, I think the jury needed to know how to weed and navigate through the quagmire of lies being told on that witness stand.
I don't care who lied, I think it is the state's responsibility in a death penalty (or any) trial to clear the smoke lies for the jurys' eyes.............

If my child claims my husband or I molested them or helped hide a dead body then yeah, I (or my husband) have the right to get on the stand and defend ourself.
Gosh, if poor KC would of just called 911 when HER baby accidently died then maybe no one would have to take the stand.
Oh I forgot, she was too busy having wild sex with her b/f and playing house with him, entering hot body contest, looking out for the shot girls, shopping, getting a tatoo and making up stories about a nanny to call 911. Silly me!

They should do the same thing to Cindy for perjury as they would do to anyone else. That entire family thinks they are above it, they lie to get the end result they want without any repercussion. That's why they have all ended up there now.
Her stance is she didn't lie... she didn't give any dates in her testimony. But that's all talk around the fact she said if those searches were done on those dates.... she did them.
She lied. George lied too, maybe they can all keep each other company for the next 15 years.

I changed my mind. I want to see her charged to the fullest extent of the law. Her perjury helped accomplish her goal of allowing her killer daughter to be set free, so I'm sure 15 years in prison will be worth it for her.

Had Cindy been completely honest from the get-go, this would have been a solved murder case long ago, with Casey in a prison, where she belongs.
So, yes, Cindy committed perjury often, along with altering/destroying evidence which would have nailed Casey.

Listening to Ashton he says.... yes it would be by his office if a charge was made. Someone not involved with the case who would look at the entire scenerio. He indicated that under the circumstances poor Cindy has been under and she's such a grieving grandmother.... he didn't think that would take place. Blah, Blah, Blah and more excuses for the Anthony family to lie, even under oath... and it's ok.

I think Cindy should be charged with perjury. An example needs to be set for the next set of parents who want to lie on the stand to save their kid.
Charging Cindy would make more sense than oh...say..... she & George going on an after trial mini vacation.

Casey Anthony's parents were forced to flee a Florida poolside this morning after an attempt to escape a wrathful public by going on vacation disastrously backfired.
Cindy and George Anthony, whose daughter Casey was controversially acquitted last week of charges that she murdered their two-year-old granddaughter Caylee, relaxed in the Florida resort this morning but had to leave a couple of hours later when they were recognised by other holidaymakers, a witness said.

I did not think that looked like CA & GA, especially GA.
With a private pool in their own back yard, why would they go to a public pool? If that really was them, I think they are just asking for trouble.

Unfortunately in the case of the Anthonys, crime does pay.
ABC + 48 Hours = $220,000
Murder + Perjury = No Jail Time

Mama, I'm not an expert on this, but most false imprisonment suits seem to stem from wrongful convictions. If there was probable cause for an arrest, I don't think there is any basis to sue for false imprisonment.
Also, she was convicted of check fraud and lying to police. The amount of time she spent in jail awaiting trial ended up fulfilling the sentences for those charges.
