Breonna Nichole Loftin -- Deceased 8/17/11

Four year old Breonna Nichole Loftin died a tragic death as a result of horrific abuse. She died of abuse injuries on August 17, 2011. Little Breonna sustained those injuries in Kountze, Hardin County, Tx. She died at Christus Hospital Saint Elizabeth in Beaumont, Tx.

The autopsy indicated that Breonna's cause of death was brain injuries.

Breonna suffered physical and sexual abuse and neglect for months prior to her death. There were never any complaints of abuse filed with CPS and CPS had not investigated complaints of abuse regarding Breonna.

Hardin County Sheriff's Office and Texas CPS have stated it is one of the worse cases of child abuse they have seen and it was horrific abuse.

Breonna's mother, Amanda Nichole Guidry, age 30 and her boyfriend, Jason Wade Delacerda, 34, are each charged with First Degree Felony Injury to a Child at this time. Both are in the Hardin County Jail in Kountze, Tx. Guidry is being held on $1.5 million and her boyfriend, Delacerda, is being held on $2 million bond.

Their arraignment was on Friday, August 19, 2011, in State District Judge Steve Thomas' Hardin County Court Room. Judge Thomas appointed attorney Sonny Cribbs to represent Delacerda and Jimmy Hamm to represent Guidry.

The Hardin County District Attorney might take the case to the Grand Jury early next month and is strongly considering asking the Grand Jury to indict Delacerda and Guidry on Capital Murder charges.

Breonna's funeral service and burial will be on Tuesday, August 22, 2011, in Vidor, Texas.

As this case unfolded, I posted links to various articles on The Hinky Meter. I have decided to start a thread here to bring attention to the horrific abuse Breonna Nichole Loftin endured prior to death. Breonna was an innocent, defenseless 4-year-old child! Her mother, Guidry, failed to protect Breonna.

It is my hope that Guidry and Delacerda are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and are held accountable in the tragic death of Breonna.

I think I will start this thread with Breonna's visitation and funeral plans and then post the articles as this case unfolded.

Breonna Nichole Loftin, 4, of Vidor, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. She was born December 29, 2006, in Beaumont, to Amanda Nichole (Guidry) and John Edward Loftin, Jr. and lived in Vidor most of her life.

Survivors include her father, John Edward Loftin, Jr. of Vidor; mother, Amanda Guidry of Beaumont; grandparents, John Edward Loftin, Sr. of Vidor, Thelma Wilson of Newton, Ronald and Sandy Guidry of Vidor, and Wanda and Brian Bailey of Beaumont; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church, 290 South Street, Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor under the direction of Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze. A gathering of her family and friends will be Monday evening, August 22, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.

KOUNTZE - On a night when a community is remembering a little girl at her visitation, a district attorney is looking closely at pursuing capital murder charges against the four year old's mother and the woman's boyfriend. Breonna Loftin died last Wednesday at Christus Hospital Saint Elizabeth.

Hardin County Sheriff Ed Cain told KFDM news Breonna was the victim of what he calls the worst child abuse case he's ever seen. An autopsy shows the little girl died of brain injuries. Investigators say Breonna suffered physical and sexual abuse for months at the home in Kountze where she lived with her mother and her mother's boyfriend.

They say an autopsy showed the child had a number of injuries, including hot coffee burns to her body, other burn marks and broken ribs.

Breonna's mother, 30-year-old Amanda Guidry, and Guidry's boyfriend, 34-year-old Jason Delacerda, are charged with the first degree felony crime of injury to a child. If convicted, they could face up to life in prison.

State District Court Judge Steve Thomas arraigned Amanda Nichole Guidry, 30, and her boyfriend, Jason Wade Delacerda, 34, Friday afternoon on 1st Degree Felony Charges of Injury to a Child.

He set Delacerda's bond at $2 million and Guidry's at $1.5 million.

The judge appointed attorney Sonny Cribbs to represent Delacerda and Jimmy Hamm to represent Guidry.

Investigators say the child suffered physical and sexual abuse, and neglect, for months.

District Attorney David Sheffield says additional charges could be filed in the case.

KFDM News has obtained a Probable Cause Affidavit for the arrest of Delacerda and Guidry.

According to the Affidavit, Delacerda admitted making the 4-year-old stand barefoot on water caps.

Charges filed in what Sheriff Cain calls worst child abuse case

HARDIN COUNTY - The Hardin County Sheriff's Office and Child Protective Services are investigating the death of a 4-year-old girl in what Sheriff Ed Cain and CPS spokeswoman Shari Pulliam tell KFDM News is "one of the worst child abuse cases" they've ever seen.

The girl weighed 32 pounds.

"That child suffered months and months of physical abuse, sexual abuse and also neglect," Shari Pulliam with Child Protective Services told KFDM News.

Late Thursday afternoon deputies arrested the mother, Amanda Guidry, 30, and her boyfriend, Jason Delacerda, 34, on 1st Degree Felony charges of Injury to a Child. If convicted they could face up to life in prison.

Sheriff Cain says the boyfriend called 911 Wednesday night and an ambulance took the child to Christus Hospital Saint Elizabeth. She died at about midnight. Sheriff's deputies and Child Protective Services began investigating and visited the couple's mobile home off Highway 69 in Kountze. Investigators say there were visible signs of abuse. A preliminary autopsy shows the four-year-old girl died of blunt force trauma to the head. The autopsy report lists the preliminary manner of death as homicide. Toxicology results are pending.

KOUNTZE, Texas—A Southeast Texas woman and her boyfriend have been charged after the death of her 4-year-old daughter who allegedly was battered for months.

Hardin County Sheriff Ed Cain told KFDM-TV that the girl had bruises and burns "basically from head to toe."

Funeral services set for slain Kountze child

Funeral arrangements have been set for a Kountze child whose death has been attributed to child abuse.

A service for Breonna Nicole Loftin, 4, will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church at 290 South Street in Vidor. Burial is to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.

This child was neglected much longer than she was abused. You can tell she did not have a proper diet and not enough sleep. She should have seen a dentist early on, and in some of the pictures with the funeral home video, there are real bad dark circles under her eyes, just like Caylee used to have.

I sincerely hope TX does a better job at prosecuting these two monsters than FL did with KC.

VIDOR - Dozens of people shared their grief at the funeral of a 4-year-old girl investigators say was the victim of child abuse.

Breonna Loftin died Wednesday, August 17 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. Officers working the case say the child suffered from months of physical and sexual abuse. She had a number of broken ribs and burns to much of her body.

Deputies arrested Breonna's mother, Amanda Nnicole Guidry, 30, and her boyfriend, Jason Wade Delacerda, 34, on charges of Injury to a Child.

A song played through the speakers of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor. It's about death and how a loved one is in heaven looking down on us.

You could see the heartbreak on the faces of those who came to remember Breonna Loftin's short 4 years of life.

Tragedies on the job take toll on investigators

The burial of 4-year-old Breonna Loftin was Tuesday. This as the Hardin County District Attorney's Office continues to prepare its case against Breonna 's mother, 30-year-old Amanda Guidry, and Guidry's boyfriend, 34-year-old Jason Delacerda.

The two are charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.

Investigators in the case spoke with 12 News HD about how they handle these tragic circumstances. Sgt. Mark Minton was first on the scene at the hospital where Breonna was pronounced dead. He says they can't let the horrible deaths they witness on the job drag them down, but they can't deny the emotions these cases bring to the surface.

"I've never seen a child with that many injuries before."

Jason Wade Delacerda, who is accused in the 2011 beating death of his girlfriend's 4-year-old daughter, Breonna Nichole Loftin, will go to trial later this year.
