ORLANDO, Fla. -- It was George Anthony's turn to be deposed Wednesday by prosecutors working on Casey Anthony's murder trial. Cindy and Lee Anthony went last week, but George was the only one who stopped to talk with reporters.

George seemed nervous about answering questions Wednesday, but WFTV reporter Kathi Belich found out he may have had some questions of his own for a book publisher.

Eyewitness News heard from a reliable tipster that the Anthonys, their private investigator and their lawyer are negotiating a package book deal with Simon and Schuster, which is owned by CBS, so Eyewitness News asked about it, because the publisher isn't talking.

OMG!! This just infuriates me!!!! I can't believe someone is STUPID enough to give the Scamthonys a book deal!!! I will never PAY for anything that benefits the Ants...

No wonder Georgette skirted the question when he was asked before his depo about working.... and he said he just wants to work again... If anyone really believes that, I have a bridge in Arizona I'm looking to sell!!

Because if you are, I believe that is the discovery they released on July 30...... but maybe you meant something else.

That's what I read, too. It was dated today. Said updated August 5. So I'm thinking that means they just put that in that article sometime today. It wasnt on there earlier in the day. YAH

Boy, you said that right, awaiting. It's sickening. Then to hear GA saying today on the video on wftv (before going in for his depo)that he had been looking for jobs, but no one wanted to hire him when they knew who he was. Please. They'll live off the book/movie deals.

I'll pass on that book if it ever comes out. I don't want to help the Anthonys profit off of Caylee's murder, and I don't want to read a book that tries to convince people that Casey is innocent and that there really was a Zanny the Nanny.

I'm with you, J4A!!!! Let's hope everyone feels the same... I hope no one buys that book. But either way, the Ants probably receive a fixed amount... so their money will already made by the time the book comes out, don't you think?

I completely agree with you, J4A! It sickens me to think about how many people out there who will actually buy that book. They might as well be flushing their money down the toilet. To all those who might even be thinking about buying any book about Casey Anthony, I'd like to suggest that you make a donation to St. Jude Children's Hospital. It would really make a difference in the life of a child fighting cancer.

I think most of us have known (or believed) all along that there would be a book deal (and probably a movie deal, too) before things were all said and done......

I'm wondering if Simon & Schuster got a completely negative response from the public expressing their disgust if they would go through with the deal.... As c4c said, Oprah cancelled.... granted she wanted an exclusive, but I'm sure they also got tons of negative responses.... You know the old saying..... money talks. And maybe if these people who make these deals with the devil are going to be hit in the pocketbook, they will think twice about their deal. Just a thought.

Hate to say this, but there will be a lot of people who would buy their book. If for nothing else, just out of curiosity.
Remember last year CA saying she would write a book one day to "help" others know what to do if they ever had a child to go "missing"? Um, well, Caylee didn't really go missing; she was murdered, thrown out like trash. So wonder what the so-called plot of this book will be?
Neither one of the Ants can get a job now; that's pretty obvious. GA even admitted it in the video of him going in to be deposed yesterday. So they'll cash in on poor Caylee. Oh, and of course, help pay for KCs defense...
I will never understand how they could help finance a defense for a daughter that they HAVE to know is responsible for their grandaughters death.

I wonder if Simon and Schuster are getting the same heat from bloggers that Oprah got. Remember that bandwagon.

Jeanne, my guess would be YES..... whether or not it causes them to pull out of the deal, I don't know.

The publishing company, Simon & Schuster, denies any book deal or anything in the works with Casey Anthony's parents or anyone else with the case.

A local TV station reported a tipster had alerted the reporter about a possible book deal between Casey Anthony's parents, their attorney and a private investigator and Simon & Schuster.

However, Adam Rothberg, vice president of communication, sent an e-mail to the Orlando Sentinel.

That is one hot potato. I am happy to see a professional book company like Simon and Schuster said no.

I am sure they will find somebody sinister enough to publish their book and their story and their lies.

I agree, Jeanne.... but Simon & Schuster didn't actually say they said NO. They said they did not have a book deal with the Ants nor anything in the works. I guess that COULD always mean there might be one at a later date... or possibly another publishing company would give them a deal.

Honestly though, I am not sure why anyone would pay the Ants for their story.... they aren't going to say anything before trial that will incriminate KC (anymore than they have already done...lol). And if it's after the trial, everything will already be out. Why pay the Ants at that point?????

Diane Fanning already has her book, "Mommy's Little Girl", coming out in November. Anyone can write a book or produce a movie... no one needs the Ants permission. So it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

If anyone DOES pay the Ants for anything.... much of the public won't purchase it. Of course there will always be those who will.... but is it worth it to a company to waste their time and resources publishing a book they know will alienate at least half the country???? IDK....

Simon and Schuster denied there were any books about this case in the works.
