MUNDS PARK, Ariz. - Authorities are extending an Amber Alert to Arizona after a reported sighting of a 12-year-old girl abducted from California.

Cassidy Hayes was abducted from Cathedral City, Calif. by 22-year-old Michael Malloch Jr. The suspect, her step-brother, has reportedly made suicidal threats, leaving a note that said he can't live without "her".

They were last seen at a Shell gas station in Munds Park, near Flagstaff around 9:15 a.m. Monday.

Missing 12-year-old Cassidy Hayes AMBER ALERT

MUNDS PARK, Ariz. — Authorities are extending an Amber Alert to Arizona after a reported sighting of a 12-year-old girl abducted from California. Cassidy Hayes was abducted from Cathedral City, Calif. by 22-year-old Michael Malloch Jr. The suspect, her step brother, has reportedly made suicidal threats, leaving a note that said he can't live without "her".

They were last seen at a Shell gas station in Munds Park, near Flagstaff around 9:15 a.m. Monday. They are believed to be traveling in a gold 2002 Subaru Legacy with California license plates reading "7HYS582".

Authorities say the pair left around 6 a.m. Sunday under "suspicious circumstances" and may be headed to Massachusetts.

Hayes was last seen wearing a black hoodie with the word "PORT" on the front and blue jeans. She is 115 pounds and 5 feet, 3 inches tall. She has long dyed dark brown hair and hazel eyes.

Malloch is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 165 pounds. He has short brown hair and was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, black shorts with a white strip, sunglasses and black shoes.

CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. - A 12-year-old Cathedral City girl was abducted by a 22-year-old man on Monday morning and now police have issued an Amber Alert to help bring her home safely.

According to authorities, Cassidy Hayes was taken by Michael Mallock Jr. and they're believed to be traveling in a gold 2002 Subaru Legacy with California license plate No. 7HYS582.

The Cathedral City Police Department hasn't disclosed the relationship

Cassidy is Caucasian with dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Officers said she's 5'3" and weighs 112 lbs. and she was last wearing a black hoodie with the letters 'Port' and blue jeans.

Mallock Jr. is Caucasian, with brown hair and brown eyes, 5'10" and weighs 165 lbs. He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, black shorts with white stripes, sunglasses and black shoes.

An Amber Alert has been issued for a girl abducted near Palm Springs, California, by a man who made suicidal threats and who was last seen in Arizona, authorities said.

Cassidy Hayes, 12, left Cathedral City, California, at about 6 p.m. on Sunday with her older stepbrother, Michael Malloch Jr., 22, "under suspicious circumstances," police said.

The two were spotted in Buckeye and last seen at a Shell station in Munds Park, Arizona, on Monday at about 9:15 a.m.

Police believe they may be headed to Massachusetts.

MUNDS PARK, Ariz. - A 12-year-old girl allegedly abducted by her step-brother in California have both been found in Arizona.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the gold-colored vehicle they were driving in was located near Page, Ariz. around 1:30 p.m. Troopers then made a traffic stop and took both people into custody.

Spokesman Quentin G. Mehr said Cassidy Hayes will be released to her family.

Hayes was abducted from Cathedral City, Calif. by 22-year-old Michael Malloch Jr. The suspect, her step-brother, has reportedly made suicidal threats, leaving a note that said he can't live without "her".

Cassidy Hayes was found safe just outside of Page, Arizona, around 1:30 p.m. Monday. DPS made a traffic stop on NB US 89 near milepost 553. The suspect Michael Malloch and victim Cassidy Hayes were detained.

DPS Trooper Jesse Livingston, who is just three weeks out of the academy, was on his way home, which is near Page, when he heard the call on his DPS radio. An hour later the vehicle was spotted just south of Page. Then Livingston spotted the vehicle and he and another trooper conducted a felony stop.

Malloch surrendered without incident. Cassidy was frightened but appeared to be unharmed. She was taken to Flagstaff to eventually be reunited with her family. Malloch will be turned over to the custody of the FBI.

Authorities say the 22-year-old Malloch is being detained for questioning while Hayes is being reunited with her family in Cathedral City, CA.

A 22-year-old man captured in Arizona after allegedly abducting his 12-year-old stepsister from Cathedral City this week, told a judge Friday he would not fight extradition, clearing the way for local police to pick him up and bring him back to Riverside County, court officials there said.

Michael Malloch Jr., who faces charges of child abduction and child endangerment, appeared at an extradition hearing this morning at the Coconino County Superior Court in Flagstaff, Arizona, according to Valerie Wyant, clerk of the Superior Court there.

Molestation charges added in Cathedral City kidnapping

Prosecutors filed multiple counts of child molestation Wednesday against a 22-year-old man captured in Arizona last month after allegedly abducting his 12-year-old stepsister from their Cathedral City home.

Michael Patrick Malloch Jr. was previously charged with child abduction, child cruelty and child endangerment.

During a felony settlement conference at the Larson Justice Center, prosecutors filed an amended complaint adding four counts of lewd acts with a child under 14 and two counts of engaging in a substantial, months-long sexual relationship with a child under 14.

Malloch, who remains in custody in lieu of $500,000 bail, pleaded not guilty to all counts.
