CRF Frozen Foods Expands Voluntary Recall to Include All Frozen Vegetable and Fruit Products Due To Possible Health Risk
".....This expanded recall of frozen vegetables includes all of the frozen organic and traditional fruit and vegetable products manufactured or processed in CRF Frozen Foods' Pasco facility since May 1, 2014. All affected products have the best by dates or sell by dates between April 26, 2016 and April 26, 2018. These include approximately 358 consumer products sold under 42 separate brands, the details of which are listed below. Products include organic and non-organic broccoli, butternut squash, carrots, cauliflower, corn, edamame, green beans, Italian beans, kale, leeks, lima beans, onions, peas, pepper strips, potatoes, potato medley, root medley, spinach, sweet potatoes, various vegetable medleys, blends, and stir fry packages, blueberries, cherries, cranberries, peaches, raspberries, and strawberries. For a complete list of affected products, see below....."

Frozen vegetable recall expands to over 40 brands (Video)
A national recall of frozen vegetables first issued in April has now expanded to over 358 products under more than 42 different brands.
CRF Frozen Foods expanded the voluntary recall to include all of the frozen organic and traditional fruit and vegetable products manufactured or processed in the company's Pasco, Wash., facility since May 1, 2014, due to the possibility that these products may have been contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
That organism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.
The affected products have best-by dates or sell-by dates between April 26, 2016, and April 26, 2018. A complete list can be found on the* Food and Drug Administration's website. Some of the brands include ByBee Foods, Columbia River Organics, Northwest Growers Select, Organic by Nature, Parade, Pantry Essentials, Safeway Kitchens, Signature Kitchens, Trader Joe's Organic, VIP, Wellsley Farms and Life Foods.
Potentially contaminated products include organic and nonorganic broccoli, butternut squash, carrots, cauliflower, corn, edamame, green beans, Italian beans, kale, leeks, lima beans, onions, peas, pepper strips, potatoes, potato medley, root medley, spinach, sweet potatoes, various vegetable medleys, blends, and stir fry packages, blueberries, cherries, cranberries, peaches, raspberries and strawberries.

Listeria concerns prompt sunflower-seed product recalls

"....The recall affects Planters and Sunrich Naturals sunflower kernels made between the dates of February 1 and April 21, the date when the facility stopped production of the seeds, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in a release.
Separately, Arizona-based Papa John’s Salad and Produce, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of its Oriental Salad with Sesame Ginger Dressing, with sell-by dates of May 18 through May 25.
The salads are a pre-packaged blend sold in retail grocery stores including Albertson’s, Safeway, Food 4 Less and Bashas’.
The FDA is urging consumers who bought any of these items matching these descriptions to promptly throw them away or return them to the store for a refund.
“SunOpta is committed to ensuring consumer safety and providing quality products and ingredients to customers. The Company has completed its root cause analysis and is working with food safety experts to implement corrective and preventative measures,” the company said in a statement provided to the FDA. ...."

Pharmavite LLC is recalling some Nature Made vitamins due to possible salmonella or staphylococcus contamination, the Northridge, Calif.-based company said in a press release Tuesday. Recalled products include Nature Made gummy multivitamins and supplements containing vitamin C, B vitamins and folic acid.

Pharmavite LLC is recalling specific lots of Nature Made® products detailed in the chart below due to possible Salmonella or Staphylococcus aureus contamination.
We are initiating this recall out of an abundance of caution to protect public health. Pharmavite is working closely with the FDA to implement this recall and we are notifying all retail customers and distributors to remove the product from store shelves immediately. No other products are impacted by this recall. The recalled products were distributed nationwide to various major retailers.
Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
