25 to LiFE in this case means no possibility of parole for at least 25 years, Tori said the 16 years is consecutive not concurrent, IIRC the sentence will be (at a minimum) 37 years, 25 plus 12 (3/4 of the 16). This will make SB 63 years old before she is eligible for parole.

Before she can be paroled SB must admit to murdering Emma and show remorse, something Ms Cromer doesn't believe she will be able to pull off. Ms Cromer also said she has never had a case like this where the inmate was paroled the first time they applied.

Judge Zacky said: First Degree Murder this Court sentences you to the term prescribed by law, which is 25 years to life in state prison. Miss Barker, I hope that for every second, of every minute, of every hour, of every day, of every year for the rest of your life that you see Emma's face looking at you and I don't know how you're going to live with yourself.

I am so relieved at the sentence, that she is not eligible for parole until she is 63.

I love what the judge said to her, I doubt she'll ever feel remorse.

I love what Judge Zacky told Stacey.

To me it seems like Stacey is a sociopath. She probably may never admit to killing precious little Emma. She would probably rather sit in prison than show remorse for killing Emma.

From what I have read, folks like her do real well in prison. She'll adjust well and probably end up in a "leadership" role (with other inmates) wherever she's going.

At least she won't be out on the streets and a danger to the public!

Video from court on Friday. There's a quick shot of SB, no wonder Dager was covering her face, she looks like she hasn't slept since May 24! Reality finally setting in???

GBarker is still in serious denial. How can he stand there and say she didn't kill Emma? She admitted to it!

Big news! Mz Stacey Marie B (AKA CDCR# WE1723) has a new address and I'm guessing she's not loving her new home at the Central California Women's Facility (CCWF)!!

Thank you State of CA!! You have succeeded where FL failed miserably! I'm wondering what SB thinks of KC's trial outcome, probably kicking herself for testifying (not that I think it effected the outcome)!

You said it! I don't know anyone personally who has "lived" there, but reading the boards I've seen comments posted by former "residents" and none have anything good to say about Chowchilla! Mean spirited as it is, learning a little about the prisons is what made me hope SB would spend her life there. I hope she is miserable there forever!

A warrant was issued on 8/19 for Brendon Borrelli on charges of perjury and conspiracy.

BB turned himself on Aug 22nd to avoid being arrested and was released on OR by a Judge Steven Ogden. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Sept.

Will update as more information becomes available....

The timing is interesting, on Aug 15, BB announced to his friends that he was moving to Valencia. I wonder if that plan is now scrapped??

Hi Sitemama.

BB allegedly perjured himself during SB's trial and allegedly lied to LE about several important facts in the hours after Emma was reported missing.

We know Ms Cromer has pertinent information regarding SB and BB on the events of 3/18. We know bits and pieces, I'm trying to refrain from posting what we think we know until we get more information from the hearings to avoid any confusion later on. Even though Tori was at every pretrial hearing, the trial revealed a lot of things we didn't know.

What we aren't sure of at this time is whether the charges pertain to BB's actions before Emma died or if he only (insert eye-roll) helped SB create a crime scene after the fact and lied about it to LE.

Hi Ann! Great to see you too! BB's next hearing is Sept 8th. Unless something comes up in the meantime I'll be there with the rest of the crew.

Rumor has it BB's mom has been scrambling to get an attorney for him. I'm surprised they didn't do this a long time ago.

When TD and I walked into Courtroom A-1, BB was sitting in the first seat, front row. He made eye contact with TD, it was that flash of a second recognition and then nothing (kind of humorous actually). He doesn't know me, he was never in court the days I showed up but I recognized him immediately! He and his posse took up half of the row with his Gma sitting next to him, then his brother (KB), 2 FOB, his mom (MB) and then another FOB.

Court started right at 8:30 - but BB wasn't called until after the first recess at around 10:30.

BB spent most of his time resting his head on his hands. While we waited an attorney walked into the courtroom and he acknowledged BB, a few minutes later he took BB out into the hall, MB followed. They were gone for about 10 minutes, when they returned MB looked really pizzed and BB's face was bright red. Sure would have loved to have heard what was said.

When Judge Ogden called BB he approached the podium and his attorney asked for 6 witness statements; he claimed not to know the names of these witnesses, the dates from trial, the judge, the court reporter, NOTHING! When asked BB said he thought the judge's name was Zacky...yes after sitting in the courtroom for over two years and testifying in a trial, that was the best BB could do. TD and I were dumbfounded. Well, Judge Ogden was having none of that! He told them he was denying the request, the attorney started to reply to this and Judge Ogden denied him two more times! The judge made a phone call then told BB to give the names of the witnesses to the bailiff and he would make sure they get those 6 transcripts. Next hearing is 9/20.

We were expecting an arraignment or a preliminary hearing - this wasn't either so I guess we'll see what happens.

In your comment, you indicated that the next hearing was on 9-20-11. What is the status?

For your info, I updated Emma Thompson's thread regarding the status of the appeals, with the Fourteenth Court of Appeals (Harris County, Houston, Tx), by Abigail Young and Lucas Coe.

Young's case was argued on October 4, 2011. A few days ago, I spoke to a person close to the case and the person indicated they are now waiting on the ruling. No time frame was indicated.

Also, BBC did a story recently and featured Emma Thompson. Her father, Ben Thompson, was interviewed for the story. A poster from overseas alerted Reality Chatter (on Emma's thread) and indicated she heard it on BBC radio.

I was able to find the Link to the BBC story and posted it on Emma's thread.

Since you have last posted here, Justice4All, has changed the Forum format. The cases of Emma Thompson and Emma Barker are now in the "Closed Cases" section of the Forum.
