well the 3rd reading is tommorrow and form the looks of it most of the bills that have been voted out of committee looks like most of them have passed, so once it has the 3rd reading it will be on the senate floor for a vote probably within the next 2 days

well the vote was today it happened shortly after they got back from recess unnamious vote 21-0 to change the law and now it's headed back to the assembly where they are probably just going to tidy it up and then send it on to the governor for his signature

and it had to pass within these last 3 days or it would've had to wait for a special session, as bills had to be passed out of the senate by friday

plus if you were wondering why there was a new reporter on the case ashley cullins and not ben briscoe who origanally broke this story, well it's because he has the same type of job but much further east as he works at wfmy in greensboro, but i was able to find him on facebook and did let him know what the vote was and I thanked him for helping our family out when many others wouldn't and if it hadn't been for my mom and then him also doing the report on the law, this bill never comes up during the session

and I was right that it going back to the assmebly to add the 2nd ammendment as if you go to the assembly session and they have a 2nd agenda posted and one of the items is in the the concur items which is ab 116 with ammendment 637 so after this it likely will head to the governor's desk and could be signed possibly by tuesday

It has been a great day in Texas! I have been following HB 431 in the Texas Legislature for a very long time. It will be known as Emma's Law to honor Emma Thompson who was barely 4 years old and was brutally raped and beaten to death by her mother's (Abigail Young) boyfriend. Her mother, Abigail Young, did nothing to protect her daughter, Emma.

HB431 (Emma's Law) passed the House and was sent to the Senate. On 5/21/13, the Senate passed it and the next stage is for Texas Governor Rick Perry to sign it.

Quite a bit of media coverage about Emma's Law in TX and an exciting day!

they didn't get to it yesterday in the assmebly, but it is on the daily file and then agenda for tommorow so it looks like by the weekend is when governor sandaoval will get it and again it had to go back to the assembly with the other ammendment added but it is looking by the weekend the governor will ahve it

well and maybe i was wrong as I went to a site called open sites which has bills for all the states and on it for bills passed out of assembly was for may 23rd on page 7 was ab 116, so maybe they did get to it yesterday

well it is on the daily file so maybe they haven't gotten to it yet, however I did hear from ashely cullen who did the may 7th story on ab 116 and they do plan on doing a follow-up story when this bill hits the governor's desk and with the senate's agenda changing they couldn't do a story that it passed the senate, but they are going to do a follow-up when the bill is offically signed into law

ok it looks like sometime this week, as I did hear from her on facebook and she will try and send me the date

plus now if anyone is interested on the debate of this bill they have the minutes from when the bill was first introduced on feb 26th and there was a good back forth on it, and it seemed even the people opposing it were looking for some change in the law and it appears that neveda was not the only state that had this law and there was one other state that had this same kind of law ohio and oh get this it passed around the same time

well now all it needs is the governor's signature as they took it up today in the assembly they concurred on the ammendment so now all it needs is the governor's signature and it is law

also my mom talked to her today and it appears either this week or next and the bill will be signed and mrs. benitez-thompson is trying to see if she can get the governor to put eric's name on the bill when it is signed

one last thing is that that e-mail I got from ashely cullins i didn't see the 2nd part of it which said if anyone in the family wanted to talk about it for the story

well the bill is now awaitng the governor's siganture as it hit his desk this morning

didn't get signed today but both ashley cullins and assemblywoman were seeing if they could get permission from Governor Sandvaol to run cameras when he signs the bill

well it is now law effective october 1st

and it looks lie it was signed yesterday but there was a delay of getting the info posted

I know you have worked hard on getting the law amended.I applaud your efforts and those of your family.
While there is never a true "justice" when someone has been murdered, I do hope your family will begin to heal.
It was been a long and wearing ordeal for everyone who loved Eric.

I hope Eric's children can find some peace, too. May the memories of Eric be abundant and comforting.

well I guess Arkansas has a similar staute as I don't know if any of you get Gene Lyons in your opinon page, but he was doing a column this week on how Mark Prior should thank Bloomberg for helping him win re-election because prior was one of the few dems who voted against gun control, but at the very end he brings up a potential GOP candidate, rep Tom Cotton who he voted against federal aid but also wants to make a law that would charge parents, aunts, uncles, siblings for the trangressions and calls him a crackpot. So in a word I guess Theresa Bentiez Thompson is a crackpot I guess because she got a bill changing the same law

ok they will do the story likely week of august 12th, likely the 13th.  Ashley talked with her bosses there at KRNV and she thought the biggest impact is if they had an in-depth story with a look at the new law, how our family has done, probably an interview with the entire family or the very least mom, with mom setting the time, either sometime now or sometime leading up to the story. Ashely though that this would have the biggest impact for viewers

the story will be on the 13th as i e-mailed ashely, and she didn't know if it was this tuesday or next that the body was found, but it is this tuesday, so ashely is likely going to call mom tommorrow to set up the interview and the story is going to air tuesday

story is going to the 14th as ashely has talked to her bosses and she is going to try and set up an interview with mom tommorrow

ok the story may be delayed as she also wants to talk to assmeblywoman bentiez thompson and get her input, so it may be next week when it airs

ok she got to talk with teresa bentiez thompson and the story will air tommrow during there 5 PM newscast, so anyone who is interested can goto my news KNRV 4 and they stream there newscasts live and i will just like on my facebook page and also the cause page, will post the link either to the newscasts or the story here as well. I would like ot thank everyone for how much they helped and escpcially Val, as I know she is dealing with family issues, but Valhall you were one of the few to let my mom have a voice and put this story out there when few would so valhal wherever you are thank you, you do not know how much are family apperciated the threads you had on your forum that was keeping Eric's name out there so thank you for the work you put in this and I hope your family is doing well.

and it is an in dpeth story that interviewed a lot of the key people and when mom did her interview with ashely on why we felt the way we did that Timothy didn't do it we told her about the archives of there site as I believe it was when the verdict that was read that Lisa(Karen) had her outburst, and I believe that was one of the last things Val posted before she had to shut down her site

the story lasts about 5 minutes and when I get a chance to post the newscast you won't have to wait long a it was there top story on the 5:00 PM news

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- It's a story that shocked people across Nevada. A man was murdered and his wife admitted to covering it up, but she never faced a jury.

Timothy Morgan admitted to killing his brother-in-law Eric Preimesberger in what he said was self defense. Morgan's sister and Eric's wife Kristi Preimesberger said she helped clean up the crime scene and hide the body, but she didn't face any charges because of a century-old Nevada law that prevented siblings from being charged as accessories after the fact.
