Restraining Order Against Accused Child Abuser Lapsed

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - A judge's restraining order meant to protect kids from an accused BC pedophile has run out.

Orville Mader was arrested in Vancouver in 2007 under Canada's Sex Tourism law after being convicted of sex crimes against children in Cambodia.

He was ordered to stay away from where children might gather, stay off the internet, and give up his passport. The order had been renewed each year since 2007, but lapsed in November of last year. That, despite the fact the Crown expressed concerns when Mader was arrested that he was a danger to children.

Mader was living in Surrey at the end of the year and had been checking in with BC Corrections. It's not clear if he is going to be free to travel to other countries now. He faces a 15-year jail term in Cambodia for sex crimes involving young boys.

He needs to be sent back to Cambodia to face his accusations there! Not running around free in Canada!

How about having him swim back, with a few pirhanas to keep him company. Should be laws against allowing these perverts to evade arrest by moving from country to country to seek out more victims.
