Hi folks, I haven't been here in about 18 months or so and now I am caught up in the Aaron Hernandez trial. Has it been determined that any of the footwear confiscated at his house matched the foot imprints at the crime scene? I don't get to watch this everyday so I may have missed it.

It is very nice to "see" you again!

So far the prosecution has not been able to establish that the shoe impressions were Hernandez. We have seen videos and pictures of the shoe impressions over the tire tracks at the scene of the crime; the pictures that the investigators took of all the shoes that they found inside the closets of his house when they served him with a search warrant, but it seems they don't have the shoes that he was wearing on the night of the murder, it looks like they vanished into thin air,  just like the gun.

Thanks Alessandra, you are as I remember--a fountain of information. This trial seems like a mountain of circumstantial evidence. It will be hard to get a 1st degree, but I can see a 2nd degree.

So far, the circumstantial evidence against him looks compelling....but WHY did he want him dead??

I agree, the prosecution doesn't have an obligation to provide a motive, they just need to prove (beyond reasonable doubt) that the person charged with the crime committed the crime. But, when there is not apparent motive, and that can hurt the prosecution's case, they might want to provide a reason to why the victim was murdered, to give the jury something they can hang their hat on, so to speak.

In this particular case there have been some rumors (nothing concrete) that Odin LLoyd and Aaron Hernandez had an argument the night before of his murder because Odin was being friendly with some people that Hernandez didn't like, but according to some reports, they shook hands afterwards and they left in friendly terms; this supposedly took place at a club. The other rumor is that Odin knew something about the drive by double murder that Hernandez has been accused of, and that is why Hernandez wanted to get rid of him. None of these rumors have been officially confirmed.

Yes, "clip" is the only word related to guns on those texts that sounds suspicious.

FALL RIVER, Mass. (AP) _ A phone company official testifying in Aaron Hernandez’s murder trial says several text messages the former NFL player exchanged with a co-defendant before the killing are missing from his phone.

Prosecutor Patrick Bomberg on Friday went through dozens of nondeleted text messages Hernandez exchanged with Ernest Wallace in the days surrounding the June 17, 2013, killing of Odin Lloyd.

Hours before the killing, Hernandez sent several texts pushing Wallace to come see him.

I think the defense strategy of going over each and every text and phone is a good one. It certainly became tedious and confusing.
