My favorite was that Misty Cummings was under protective custody. I will not name names, but here is the quote from someone close to the investigation:

Are you kidding! She would be the last person we would make that offer to!

The other silly rumor was that Misty had turned herself into some sort of religious facility and was spilling the beans. This story has subsequently and mysteriously disappeared from the site involved. Ahh the joys of the internet! There is no need to verify your information, just publish. This particular site is a no name blog, so I guess there was no harm done.

So what is the real story? My sources, and they are very reliable, tell me that Misty did indeed spend a day at Universal Studios, but that was not the prime motivation. Ronald and Misty did not have a huge fight, again nonsense created online, rather it was a planned trip.

You may not like Ronald Cummings or Misty Croslin Cummings, and I certainly do not, but, think about if for a moment. These two people have been in the media spotlight for months. Their stress level must be pretty high.

Misty left somewhat quietly just to get away for a few days, time away from the constant pressure, she did by the way return last night. What you may not be aware of is that last Friday Ronald Cummings also went to Orlando. Misty, Ron, and Junior had a great day at a local park. Junior could be a little boy again, rather than a lab experiment under the press microscope.

I think one of the things that many people miss is the fact that there are innocent victims in this case. Sure, we would all like to throw the whole family behind bars, they seem to have very few redeeming features. But what about Junior? Doesn’t he deserve some respect? Of course it would be valid to argue that Junior is going to grow up to be just as dysfunctional as the rest of the clan but only time will tell.

I do not have a great deal of time for the Cummings, Croslin’s or Shefield’s, they all have their unique challenges. What I do care about is the safe return of Haleigh Cummings. Someone, somewhere holds the missing jigsaw piece, and I do wish they would come forward. If Haleigh Cummings is still alive she needs to be found, if she is no longer with us, the culprits need to be brought to justice.

I'm SO discouraged and frustrated with this whole case. It's almost been 8 months. I know Elizabeth Smart is on our minds today, but I'm just not feeling it about HaLeigh. I want answers!

I feel the same way Mimi. I just don't get it. It's not like Satsuma is a very large community. It's a small little place. HaLeigh didn't just walk away. SOMEONE must know where she is or what happened to her.

Well, just heard on HLN that NG is having a special tonight on the HaLeigh case. Sure it will all be old news....

NG won't cover Elizabeth Smart since ES refused to be pushed around by her.

Mrs. Sykes, the apparent rock of the Cummings family, has welcomed Misty back into her home, and tells me everything is now fine between them.

I wouldn't doubt that Ron and Misty are back together. I think I remember Simon from Blogger News saying that Ron and Misty never even had a rift. It all depends on who you believe.
