She maintains her innoncence as does Casey Anthony...I have no idea what the outcome of Ms Knox's appeal will be...Somehow me thinks she knows more than she states...Certainly she won't make the same mistake again if and when she is released...

I haven't had a chance to follow the case closely outside of news reports, so it's hard to clearly decide one way or the other. It looks like she was prosecuted despite the prosecution doing a shoddy job with the evidence.

It's weird how the justice system works in different countries. Most people thought Casey was guilty and she walked, and most people in Italy thought Amanda was guilty, and probably about half in the U.S. thought she was innocent, and she was convicted.

Amanda Knox's bright yellow bedroom in her suburban Seattle home awaits her just as she left it four years ago. In the room is her guitar and boxes of letters she mailed her family from her Italian prison cell.

Knox and her family are trying to not be too excited, but they are hopeful that Knox may be days away from freedom and an emotional homecoming as her appeal heads into its final days. Summations in the case are scheduled to begin Friday.

Knox's step-father, Chris Mellas, has lived in the outskirts of Perugia for most of the past year. The imminent decision whether or not Knox will be acquitted weighs heavily on him.

PERUGIA, Italy - Italian prosecutors urged an appeals court Friday to uphold the murder conviction of Amanda Knox despite what they called a media campaign in support of the American student, asking the jurors to think instead of the young victim whose life was brutally ended.

In the first round of closing arguments that took seven hours Friday, the prosecutors summed up circumstantial evidence, testimony and other clues they believe point solely to Knox and Raffaele Sollecito. They sought to move past a recent independent review of genetic evidence, which cast doubt on key traces used to link the defendants to the murder and dealt a significant blow to the prosecution's case.

"All clues converge toward the only possible result of finding the defendants guilty," Prosecutor Giancarlo Costagliola said.

Amanda Knox's Grueling Day: Called 'She Devil,' Shown Roommate's Wounds

The lawyer for Amanda Knox slain roommate showed an Italian appeals court today autopsy pictures of the more than 40 wounds on her body because he wanted the jury to know "how this girl suffered."

The photos and summation presented by the lawyer for Meredith Kercher's family capped a grueling day for Knox who was earlier described as a "she devil," a "liar" and a woman who has an "angelic" side as well as a "diabolic" side.

The Kerchers' lawyer Francesco Maresca was one of several civil lawyers who addressed the court today in a series of summations in the appeal by Knox, 24, and her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 27. Both have been convicted of killing Kercher in November 2007. Knox is serving a 26 year prison term while Sollecito was given a 25 year term.

Knox's four-year trial has been both emotionally and financially crushing to Elisabeth Huff. Now, at 74-years-old, after working her entire adult life, Huff is deeply in debt. She said has spent $250,000 to help free Amanda.

I must say that I can't even begin to guess what I think the verdict will be. This is one case where I was never 100% convinced either way whether they were guilty or innocent. I do believe that there was some type of involvement, but I'm not sure what.

Was given time served for the slander sentence which was a 3 yr sentence...SHe has already done the time...

I've just read at Mail.Online that the prosecution will appeal the verdict and the findings will be reviewed by the Supreme court in Rome.

Personally, I've got mixed feelings.

I didn't follow this case as closely as Casey's, so I can't really give an opinion.

Amanda Knox readjusting to life at secret Seattle location

SEATTLE -- Amanda Knox is waking up in a secret location in Seattle, spending quality time with her family after four years in an Italian prison.

Knox's lawyer Ted Simon was with Knox and her family late into the evening Tuesday at that secret location. He didn't reveal her whereabouts, but did say she'll be there for a while.

Simon said it was touching to watch Knox reconnect with her loved ones.

The news pundit and Dancing With the Stars competitor was not among the many people lauding the Amanda Knox verdict yesterday. Grace's thoughts on Knox's conviction (in the 2007 slaying of Meredith Kercher) being overturned?

"I think that it was a miscarriage of justice," she said.

"I only hope Ms. Knox makes something of her life because she's certainly been given a second chance. Very few people are given the chance she has been given."

I don't know what happened the night Meredith was killed, but I agree with the verdict being overturned since I don't think Amanda was proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Also, as a U.S. citizen, she shouldn't have to face a double jeopardy trial, so I don't think the U.S. should extradite her if the prosecution appeals and a new trial is granted.

Amanda Knox - Italian Magazine Gives Away Knives With Knox Issue

Amanda Knox’s prosecutors have criticized a magazine for their glossy giveaway of kitchen knives and a pizza slicer in the edition with a huge image of a sobbing Knox on the cover.

Magazine freebees usually include a coupon to accompany a restaurant expose or a free compact disc to go along with an entertainment piece. But the Oggi magazine thought it appropriate to put Knox on its cover with a “knives-giveaway”; which for obvious reasons raised eyebrows and turned heads in Italy.

'Katie' debuts with Amanda Knox boyfriend

Katie Couric has landed an interview with Raffaele Sollecito, for her new TV talk show that begins next month, simply called "Katie."

In promoting the show, Couric says Sollecito talks for the first time on American television about the 2009 murder of Meredith Kercher. He will discuss life after his time spent in an Italian prison and his reunion with Knox.
