Re: Update: State’s secret information no longer needs to be secret
Ongoing Investigation or Protection of new Witness?
Posted on February 25th, 2010 by Valhall
On February 3, 2010 Jeff Ashton, on behalf of the State of Florida, filed a motion requesting an incamera ex parte hearing with Judge Strickland concerning evidence they wanted permission to delay releasing. This request boils down to: the prosecution was asking to speak to the Judge, without defense counsel present, and under sealed transcript, so they could prove to the Judge there was a valid reason why they should be allowed to NOT give the discovery to the defense team as required under Florida criminal procedure rules.
Ultimately Judge Strickland ruled that the prosecution could not have their hearing, BUT could submit via sealed motion to him detailing their reason for requesting the delay in release. Judge Strickland apparently has received and reviewed that motion and ruled yesterday that the release of the discovery may be delayed for 30 days with the option for prosecution to submit via sealed motion for extension if they can still prove just cause.
Now, when the prosecution filed the original request for an incamera, ex parte hearing they stated unequivocally that what they are requesting a delay on DOES fall under the Florida criminal procedure rules for discovery. That means the moment they obtained the discovery they had 15 days to let the defense know of the new discovery and to “inspect, copy, test, and photograph” the information if it is “in the possession or control” of the state. This applies if it was new physical evidence discovered, the name of a new witness, or information provided by an informant.
So let’s see if we can apply some critical thinking and weed the chaff from the grain on what this could be.

Now...wrap your head around that and come up with all the possible scenarios...could it be that someone has slipped, and let the cat out of the bag??? In that case it certainly could resort to bodily harm for the person involved...I don't put much past the A's...I wonder if Lee is involved in this??? Or it could be something involving Bozo Inc...This certainly has one guessing...Have a few more theories floating around in my brain, but have to sort them out...right now, all I can say is

Re: Update: State’s secret information no longer needs to be secret
That reporter, Ellie whatever-her-name-is, was wrong when she said that the defense deposed Jill Kerley. Their P.I. INTERVIEWED JK, and she was NOT under oath at the time..... that was not a deposition.
Also, NG kept saying that the State has new evidence that is so damning to KC that the judge allowed it to be kept secret even from the defense. Once again NG is exaggerating the information. BOMBSHELL TONIGHT!! There is no indication at this point what the evidence is and it is PURE SPECULATION (with maybe a little wishful thinking thrown in!) to say that it is something that is damning to KC. We just don't know......
Just sayin'...

You are welcome AJ.
It almost sounds like LP is the "source" in the National Enquirer article that recently came out.

I can't wait to see what this new information is!
Could be it has something to do with the soil from the Anthony backyard. Surely, as Randilynn said, LE took sample to test for decomp after the dogs hit. Also, could soil samples from the bags Caylee was found with match to the Anthony backyard? Did they perhaps find grains of sand like from Caylee's sandbox?
I hope it's something to do with proving someone else knew Caylee was dead before July 15th and helped dispose of her and the prosecution needs time to connect the dots before arresting them.

It's hard to guess what the new information might be. DC turning against the Anthonys is one of the most popular theories. It could also have something to do with the soil, or maybe some kind of evidence that the FBI just made available to the State.

The more I read and the more I think about it, the more I feel this information will have something to do with DC. I'm not sure what, but I just feel "in my gut" (sound familiar? LOL) that DC is in the mix. And I think possibly the reason JS allowed the release to the defense to be delayed is to protect DC (assuming it has to do with DC) from being harassed and having undue influence applied by certain people.....
Just a thought.

Maybe they finally got the phone records to see who DC was really talking to while searching the woods!

That is something that I've always wanted to know Julie. I have a hard time buying that it was a psychic on the phone with him.

Me too J4A. On NG, I think they said that the psychic said the call couldn't be found on the psychic's Dad's statements, but I'm sure LE would be able to find something on DC's end. Funny how the psychic's call cannot be found, and neither can the "call from Caylee on July 15th" per Casey. If it can't be found, it didn't happen.

If some actual swammie did get it right with DC she'd have been all over her website announcing her accuracy for future business. Bragging rights! She's not, so it's bogus that she had some psychic vision to pass on even if it could ever be proven she was on the phone with him.

i think it is VERY possible that they know who he was talking to while searching that day ....
in fact, i believe that it is impossible that they DONT know who it was. cell phone records are not hard to get. unless they are of the prepaid variety, then they are a little harder... but in this case, they KNOW the number DC was using from BOTH cell phones.. they got those from CA's cell phone records.
if it was BOZO... then he will have some real splaining to do!!! wouldnt that just make my day!!!

Can't you just see Cindy handing over one of Caylee's teddy bears to Ginette Lucas who can't get any signals off it from the land beyond until she gets home and hugs it while going to sleep and has a dream of where Caylee is? That's what GL said. She slept with the bear and had a dream. I didn't know psychics had to go to bed with the token belonging in order to get a vision. On the telly they get all hot and bothered by just touching something that belongs to the victim as soon as they get it. But let's say Ms Lucas got her vision while cutting zzzz's. Why wouldn't she call Cindy and tell her the news that teddy came though?

That they do, Julie! LOL
What I want to know is, why didn't the psychic get a vision of Caylee dying so we'd all know exactly what happened to her? Darn useless psychic!

I definitely put no belief into what the psychics say.... but... one day I was surfing docstoc and came across a statement from one of these psychics, I don't know which one it was, but she had a whole vision of Casey drowning Caylee in the bathtub because Caylee wet her pants, and she kept saying that Caylee was trying to convey "Danny" I think, not "Daddy" to this psychic. That's all I can remember, I was just browsing that day.

DC was talking to the wrong psychic. The story about the psychic who claims to have seen Caylee die is at the following link. http://derekclontz.com/2009/01/14/police-psychics-shocking-claim-i-watched-tot-mom-casey-anthony-murder-baby-caylee-with-bug-killer-and-homemade-chloroform/ Just watch out for the flying pigs.
Luckily, I think whatever the state has will be far more reliable than a psychic.

J4A, I remember hearing about that one. There was another that said Casey would often give Caylee "candy" which were pills of some kind.

http://www.cayleedaily.com/2010/03/casey-anthonys-most-recent-jail-visitors/
There's a chart of her recent visitors.
Seems Jose and Todd-the-now-defunct-dreamteam-member, visited Casey on Feb 3 the same day the prosecution filed with Strickland to withhold evidence.
Side note: Jose's middle name is Angel? PLLLLEEEEASE! NOOOOO!

Strickland ruled on Feb 25 to wait 30 days or more, so that does bring up to the 26th. I don't know how that works though. If they do decide to release it, will we even know about it? Maybe we will because wouldn't they have to have another hearing or something?

Casey Anthony: State’s secret information no longer needs to be secret
Prosecutors are done with their investigation and report no need for delay in the release of details.
By Sarah Lundy, Orlando Sentinel
5:21 p.m. EDT, March 17, 2010
Prosecutors in the Casey Anthony case say the information they wanted kept secret — while they investigated — can now be released to the defense and the public, according to a one-page document filed this afternoon.
The investigation is done and there is no need to keep details sealed, Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton wrote in the document.
It's unclear what is in the material and what it has to do with the case. It's also unclear when the information will be released to the public.
Casey Anthony, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Marie. The toddler was reported missing in July 2008. Her remains were found five months later in woods near her home.
The state is seeking the death penalty against Casey Anthony.
Orange Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland signed an order last month that sealed the information. He wrote in his order that prosecutors showed "good cause for delay" in releasing the material to Anthony's defense team and the public.
Once he unseals the information, prosecutors will give the information to her defense attorneys. That process makes the material public record.

It shouldn't be much longer until we find out what the big secret is. I hope it is something other than GA's alleged affair and the claims that he told his mistress that Caylee's death was an accident, but the timing has got to make you wonder.

You have no idea how disappointed I will be if the big bomshell is G-man's affair and subsequent statement to River about Caylee's accidental death...Funny how the State decided today that the info could be released...now it's just a matter of time until Baez and Co. are done with it ...Fingers crossed that it's something else....

Casey Anthony: WKMG identifies Casey Anthony’s pen pal
posted by halboedeker on March, 18 2010 6:37 PM
Who was Casey Anthony sending letters to in jail?
Robyn Adams, the wife of former Altamonte Springs police officer Clay Adams, WKMG-Channel 6’s Tony Pipitone reported tonight. She is serving 10 years in federal prison for helping her husband run a marijuana-growing operation, Pipitone added.
Robyn Adams had been caught passing notes at the Orange County Jail, and she was housed close to Anthony, WKMG reported.
“The state will not yet confirm that she is the inmate who received the 50 some notes and letters that Casey wrote,” Pipitone said.
Anthony had been prolific: She wrote more than 250 pages of letters, according to documents unsealed today. And those statements from the defendant could be used in the murder trial. Anthony is charged with the first-degree murder of her daughter, Caylee.
The state says the correspondence contains information relevant to the case, but not an Anthony confession. The public won’t learn the letters contents for at least 15 days.
Even if you’ve been watching the news for a couple of hours, you’ll find something new in Pipitone’s reports for WKMG. The CBS affiliate starts its weeknight news at 6 o’clock, and Pipitone is the main reason to tune in. Not having to race to do reports for the 4, 5 and 5:30 p.m. newscasts is a definite advantage for him and his co-workers.
WKMG’s Louis Bolden also did the math on the defense’s revelations today about its money.
The defense says it had received $275,000. Of that, $89,000 went to Baez. Defense attorney Andrea Lyon received $22,500 for expenses.
“That means there is still more than $163,000 that has to be accounted for, but Jose Baez isn’t talking,” Bolden said.
Baez told reporters that it was appropriate for Judge Stan Strickland to see the material first. The defense team has to break down how it spent the $163,000 by tomorrow, Bolden added.
What about the fairness of the state picking up Anthony’s legal expenses?
New defense attorney Cheney Mason told reporters, “Ask the state of Florida to tell all of you all how much they have spent so far in prosecuting this case, then talk to me about whether this is fair.”

I heard him say that and I was like, fair? That's just tuff beans if a criminal doesn't have as much money to defend themselves as the state does to convict them. Casey shouldn't have committed a crime and then even the prosecution wouldn't have had to use tax payer money!

The guys who were talking after the hearing, one was Mike Brooks, said if what Bozo said about his hours worked and money received was correct, it breaks down to $36 an hour, and a Public Defender would be more like $72 an hour.
(I'm pretty sure those were the figures they gave, might be off a buck or two.)
(I am rolling my eyes toward the ceiling pulling numbers out of my memory, since I didn't bother to bring any kind of paperwork or notes with me, LOL!!!!)

this is going to get really sweet I hope!
someone mentioned that Casey might not get indigent status because she was able to sell pics etc to ABC before so she could do it again and as long as that is a possibility for her she could just do it now.

Can't wait for the full disclosure of I've got a secret. I really am surprised that Casey risked putting anything in writing regarding the truth. I just figured her to be a close-mouthed biotch behind bars.
