A Nevada jury on Monday found a spiritual healer from Eugene guilty of using a baseball bat to fatally beat his brother-in-law in 2010.

Timothy Wayne Morgan, 27, was convicted of second-degree murder with a deadly weapon in Eric Dee Preimesberger’s death.

Kristi Preimesberger, who now lives in Southern California, does not face any charges in connection with her husband’s death.

“There’s really no evidence that she did anything other than not help (investigators) afterward,” Dreiling said.

In another odd twist, Eric Preimesberger’s mother, New Mexico resident Kay Wilson, said Monday that she is convinced Morgan is not her son’s killer.

“There is no satisfaction” in seeing Morgan convicted, Wilson said. “They have the wrong person.”

Dreiling said he is aware of Wilson’s opinion — and added that it’s the first time in his 15 years as a prosecutor that a murder victim’s family has expressed discontent because someone has been convicted of killing a loved one.

What bone head in the legislature had the lack of common sense to even introduce a law like this???? This goes beyond all boundries of what is right and wrong. If you are an accessorie to a murder you are a principle in the crime. But not in NV. Do you think the politician that wrote that law and the cronies that passed it had a little evil in the back of their minds???

Anyone wanting to kill their spouse, here is how you can get away with it if you have a sibling willing to take the fall for you or that is easily manipulated by you. Live in NV and you can get away with murder. Why not take advantage of this Law while you can? If this sounds stupid then so was this trial. Regaurdless of who did it, it was done because of or for Kristi, and she got charged with nothing, and is probably laughing at everyone involved for letting her go free. Those that she knows were against her will probably have to look over their shoulders for the rest of their life. Mainly her parents. Does anyone even know that she wanted Timothy to bring the body to her fathers propery and bury it there so she could frame her own dad for the murder? And our justice system thinks it was a good idea to let her go scott free. I may not be the smatest person in the world, but at least I am smart enough to know that this trial went very wrong and they let a murderer go free. Does anyone know what drugs kristi was on during the trial? She looked just as high as I would picture her if she was at work dancing with her strip pole. Just a simple observation. I may be wrong, but so was the jury in this trial.

very true libbyfrog. there was absolutely no justice done here. the thought of kristi not serving anytime and tim taking all the blame is ridiculous. i don't know what's going to happen, but i sure don't want to look over my shoulder from now on...

i have the link posted, and it looks like they will be in serious discussions about changing the law, and and the person that broke this story talked to my mom and said although the nevada legislature usually normally doesn't introduce a bill under a person's name, they could do it in this case and mynews 4 will likely have another story on this when they go bac in session

it was ben briscoe that broke and they said we could write it, but mom let him know we are Jehovah's Witnesses and that would be a step back for us because as Jehovah's Witnesses we are neutral when it comes to government

IF his appeal is successful, could his sister then be brought to trial or is that possibility over?

(Could the judge toss the conviction himself? I know it is unusual.)

i really don't know if they can or will ever charge her if Tim's conviction is overturned. They are just happy that someone is in jail for it. i have no faith in our justice system anymore. This whole thing is a been a nightmare. I don't know if the judge can do that himself or not, i guess if there were enough evidence to prove he didn't do it, i just don't know.

we are going to try our best to get as low a sentence as possible, as Timothy is remorseful for what he has done and our family has forgiven him, and mom and I are both going to have letters written for his sentencing that hopefully impacts it and we can get as low a sentence as possible

Whoa. After seeing that new comments were posted on this thread, I decided to read through the entire case and see what had transpired. As I said, whoa.

We live out in the county in North Alabama, and have various and sundry classifications of spiders that share the area where we live. Feeling the need to make sure my 8-year-old understood which spiders to squish and forget about, and which to be aware of, squish, and tell me immediately, she and I Google'd the kinds we have around these parts. She was particularly interested in the mating-and-murdering habits of the black widow spider, because I explained to her the reason for the spider's name.

It is interesting that, reading here today, I had the strangest sense of deja'vu. Even with the allegations of a different killer, I'd have to opine that I have just read about a human "black widow."

God bless these families and if the wrong person has been convicted (looks like it to me), may He make a way of appeal for Tim so that the real killer is brought to justice before she beats anyone else with a baseball bat/tire iron/other "club" of choice. (OH, and P.S. - how the HECK was it overlooked in Tim's trial that that woman went out and beat someone else while her brother's taking the fall for that other beating?! Seems more than coincidental...)

Hi everyone I know it's been a long time but here's an update on the sibling law changing. Shortly after the verdict My News 4 made the lawmakers of Neveda aware of this law as many had no idea it even existed. They said they would work on changing it this session. Theresa Bnetiez Thompson is the one who introduced AB 116 that would change this law. In the assembly it passed 39-1 with one no vote, Mrs. Thompson but she had a good reason she was in the hospital with a new baby yesterday the Senate Judicary had it's first hearing on the bill and the My News 4 people were there to do a story on this bill and here is that cliphttp://www.mynews4.com/news/local/story/AB-116-rewrites-102-year-old-law-opens-family-of/CgP1mYv8ukexQ0guitddUg.cspx Mrs. Thompson does face oppostion on the bill as both the ACLU of Northern Neveda, which is in Reno and also The NACJ both oppose the bill and Mrs Thompson is having to try and make everyone happy on this bill. Now this bill still has plenty of time to pass, and they likely will have another hearing on it before they vote, where i think it will pass. Neveda had there 54th day of the session today and there is still 66 days left in there session as Neveda has 120 day sessions every two years, so even with the first vote they took no action, in the assembly it took two hearings before they acted on it, and I'm confident this bill will likely hit Governor Sandvoal's desk soon

sorry it was so long as well, but i forgot my password and also forgot my username, also on the neveda legislature website you can vote for and against bills and put opinons and i'm just shocked at how shortsighted people are as i'm the only one that has voted for it and the everyone else is against it, buying the northern neveda alcu and najc arguement that siblings should be exempt. also for those who may might what law passed in 1911 that caused the Siblings Law, it's in mrs. Thompsons powerpoint presentation that can be accessed on ther website of each bill it was the Crime and Punishment Act of 1911

also I didn't even realize when I posted this but the senate hearing on this bill came a year to the day that Timothy was found guilty and his mom and his mom had his outburst, as those part of the cause page look at the date may 7th, this day last year is when Timothy was found guilty

looks like it could be voted on in the comittee, as with the assembly the only exhibit for the 2nd hearing was a work session document and it looks like right now that is the case for the senate

did get voted on there was an ammendment however i don't know if it is the same ammendment that was passed in the house but it has now made it out of the senate comittee and now they have to put it on the general file for the senate and from the house it looked liked it took them a day to get everything written up, and if that is the same with the senate there is a possibilty they could vote on it friday

i will keep an eye on the agenda for the senate to the end of the session when they might bring it to the senate for a full vote, as it is out of comittee, so now it's just finding the time when they can vote on it

ok the update is a vote will likely happen sometime this week maybe tommorow as they are having the 2nd reading and the ammendment was just cleaning up language changing crime to felony. So now after this it will have one more reading and then head to there general file and they would vote on it after that
