In Inman murder trial, agent testifies about finding body

LOGAN, Ohio — The search for Summer D. Inman took authorities from southeastern to northeastern Ohio as they quickly tried to trace the route traveled by her estranged husband and in-laws after she disappeared.

William A. “Will” Inman II, 27, could get the death penalty if convicted of aggravated murder in her abduction and strangulation last year. His parents also are accused in the crime.

Authorities told jurors yesterday in Hocking County Common Pleas Court about the trail that they followed. It ended in an underground septic tank where the body of the 25-year-old mother of three was found.

Jurors were shown photos of her body, her woven-fabric purse still slung on her left arm, and of the septic tank and the church grounds.

Durst showed jurors the items that he and other investigators collected that night, after Summer Inman’s mother-in-law had divulged the location of Summer’s body.

Her purse contained her wallet with a driver’s license that displayed her smiling photograph. There also was a purple date book. She was wearing jeans and a T-shirt.
