With every legal expert in the country ridiculing the notion, we stand behind our contention that Casey Anthony is going to take the stand and testify. Whether she saves it for the penalty phase, or if she testifies early on, we continue to believe she is going to testify and this will be at her insistence.

There is nothing to lose.

There is no way to explain her guilty behavior of hiding the death for the first 31 days, and then hiding the death behind the fake kidnapping allegation.

Heather first said it on the radio show weeks ago, and each time it has come up, the notion has been shot down.

Expert after expert says "no way" but Casey is a narcissist that feels that she can brace herself against anyone.

She has extreme confidence in her own ability to deceive.

She was only 22 years old when she stood up to seasoned detectives to the point of even walking the hallway at Universal...step by step stalling (like Baez) trusting in her own ability to deceive.

Linda Kenney Baden and Mark NeJame seem confident that she will as well. I've never thought Casey would testify at any point either during the trial or penalty phase. But I guess it's her choice if she wants to do it.

Let's face it...what has she got to lose??? Her life as she knew it is washed up, down the tubes, flushed....Don't we know it probably will be just another lie...And who would believe her anyway...It would take a whole lot to have me believe it...She would probably laugh all the way back to her cell thinking she had fooled everyone...Skeptical??? You bet!!! But then again she doesn't have to convince me, just one juror will do it...One that will stand fast on their convictions to "hang it all up"..so to speak...Hopefully that won't happen...I don't think I could go thru this ordeal again and HHJBP doesn't want to either...

i am boarderline positive that she will never step foot on the witness stand for several reasons.

#1 IF she were to get on the stand, the burden of proof will shift soley onto her murderous shoulders. SHE alone will be charged with convincing the jury that she is innocent, and you know that will never happen.

#2 she would be subject to cross examination from the SA, and her defense does NOT want that.. they will rip her to shreads.

#3 the defense has made the ploy to EVERY pot juror that she is not required to take the stand, and asked each one individually if they would hold it against her-that alone tells me that they are planning on keeping her butt in the paralegal seat for the duration of this trial.

i think they plan on attacking each piece of this puzzle individually, try and throw any bit of reasonable doubt out there and in the end beating it into the jurors heads that it is not their responsibility to prove anything, it is the states, and that the state has failed to meet THEIR burden.

The biggest attack of them all, IMHO will be that pesky lack of cause of death. they will repeat over and over again that the state cannot even show HOW little caylee died so it will be impossible for the jury to find princess guilty of 1st degree premeditated murder.

I believe wholeheartedly that the defense knows she will be found guilty (of something), they are reserved to that fact, they are IMO fighting to get her a lesser charge (possibly manslaughter or 2nd degree).

I think Casey will take the stand in the end of the trial depending on if she thinks her team hasn't convinced the jury of her innocence and pitifullest of having Zanny steal and kill her baby to the point that she gets found guilty of nothing...but when she does take the stand I predict she won't try to push that angle but will suddenly break down and claim to confess an accident happened complete with fake crying and then blame George and Cindy for forcing her to not admit to it in hopes of no one getting blamed for negligence.... and for that 30 days she partied she will say it was George and Cindy's idea to wait so they'd all have time to grieve before having to call the cops and Casey only partied to keep her mind off crying....and that G and C helped her make up the Zanny story. Baez will act shocked, even though I think he already knows this is the plan.
What will they do if she does this? Start a new trial? IDK...but this is just my talking. :)

OMG, please not another trial. If they find her Not guilty, I am over this case and will not follow it any more. I don't want to hear about how much money they will make, and I certainly don't want to see pictures of KC nor nor in the parking lot. I definitely don't want to see CA & GA

I think Casey will take the stand only if she believes that people aren't listening to her story thru Baez and Co. Then she will do her level best acting to manipulate the jury to believe her.

When I think of her taking the stand it makes me smile because of the trial I was recently a jury member for-the guy had all of us believing in his innocence until he took the stand. Even then we wanted to believe him about self defense but he said one little thing wrong-he said he wasn't afraid of his "attacker". "Guilty!"

Based on their version of events (the abuse, the drowning, etc) she will have to take the stand if she has any hope of those holding water. No one but her is going to admit to any abuse, certainly her father isnt (as we have seen) so her only hope is to get on that stand and make it believable. Whether she was abused or not is not the question here, the question is....wait, there is no question! She killed that sweet little girl God blessed her with. The trial is just a formality that we must go thru.

I wonder if some of the tension between Casey and Baez is because she knows she's going to have to get on the stand if nobody else collaborates his ludicrous opening statement. George has already refuted the drowning and molestation claims, and it doesn't look like Cindy is going to support those claims. I also have a feeling that Lee's testimony isn't going to help her either.

Suborning perjury. She won’t be taking the stand. To lie on the witness stand is a crime and her attorney cannot allow that to happen. He would be in a position of “knowing” that she was more than capable of lying and he would be in deep sh*t. Everyone knows she lies and if Mr Baez wants to continue to practice law he’ll tell her sit in her seat right beside him and check on the status of her mascara and make friends with someone on the jury.

Maybe Bozo's whole opening statement is what Casey told him, and he actually believes it. He would believe it to be ok to put her on the stand, and as we have seen, she has no remorse about lying. I believe she would lie on the stand and commit perjury, and not really care, as long as it would possibly save her sorry ass.

In fact, not only do I think she will take the stand, I believe she will take the stand and testify to a completely different version of the story, she will pretend to 'come clean' in this new version but it will just be another lie- she knows the one she is presenting now isn't working. A good liar knows when their lie isn't being believed or not- and so they move on quickly to the next one to see if that one works- I think it will be the same here- she might not even tell Jose what she will say on the stand, she will spring it on everyone when she gets up there, including her own attorneys.

I think Baez will have to make a statement on record that she is taking the stand against his council to avoid trouble for putting a known liar on the stand.

I think she may have to unless Baez can get the jury to buy the abuse allegations. Unfortunately, the burden of proof lies with the prosecution.

I believe the burden of proof of sex abuse is on the shoulders of the defense. Baez put burdens upon himself through that opener of his. Just had a thought~ Baez will probably point out that the State didn't prove his opener wrong!

That is interesting! If it comes to her taking the stand you may be right!

I think she should and she should tell the truth of what she is most afraid of - and that is not that she or any of her loved ones accidentally or purposely killed Caylee - it is about her relations, those she is trying to protect, and who the father of her child is, imo. If she tells the truth so publicly there, she will not only be better protecting them, she will no longer have to deal with lessened credibility from not being fully honest.

Question, do not know a lot about law. If she takes the stand and goes along with the accidental drowning and sexual abuse by her father and brother blah blah blah....when the prosecution cross examines can she not answer and plead the 5th? What if she refuses to answer their questions or gets riled up like she did in the jail videos with her parents? And if she doesn't take the stand how in the world will the defense prove what they are claiming? I know all the have to do is raise doubt but in this case I think they have to do something pretty impressive to raise some doubt.

The sad part is that the "defense" does NOT have to prove anything. They can make all the wild accusations that they want to. It's NOT up to THEM to PROVE anything. All they have to do is make is PLAUSIBLE.... CAUSE REASONABLE DOUBT.

The "prosecution" has ALL of the burden to PROVE that KC did it.

And/or I think they should see if they can get Kate McCann to come as an expert witness - of a mother whose little child has been abducted and what are the 'normal/expected' responses in that situation. Does she think/know that any members of law enforcement or the justice system inhibited her efforts (and therefore does she wish that in some way she could not have not let those individuals get involved). Even though she notified the authorities as soon as she realizedis Madeleine safe with her now? Has she said that initially she suspected every single person she came upon? (she did say something to that effect) Has she always been 100% honest or forthright in her words to every person she has talked to, given that she was filled with suspicion of others? Does she think that a mother trying with all of her might to get her beloved daughter back could look very different in different situations and why?

I said and/or but I do think 'and' rather than 'or' because Casey wants to go on the offensive (I know she really does - it is obvious) and make it so that as soon as possible those responsible for the awful death of Caylee are held accountable.

Oh and she could be asked, "If your child is probably taken through a concerted effort of more than one person in a complex premeditated way that also partly determines your response and seeming culpability, what are your options?"
