Ashley Billasano kept the pain locked inside her for years, allowing only a handful of people closest to her to have a glimpse. On Monday, the 18-year-old Rosenberg high school student let it all out in a torrent of messages on Twitter - the sexual abuse that she said ruined what should have been some of the best years of her life, her inability to see justice done on her behalf. Then she killed herself.

Friends say the suffering and depressed Billasano decided to make her death count for something even as her life became unbearable. Her burst of 144 tweets, which took place over six hours and ended shortly before she took her life through suffocation, recounted the sexual abuse at the hands of a family member and other adults, and the frustration that arose when authorities failed to bring charges.

HOUSTON - Ashley Billasano did not show up for school at Rosenberg’s BF Terry High School Tuesday morning.

Instead, she took to her Twitter page, saying there was so much more she wanted to do.

"It's obvious she needed somebody to talk to and that's what I believe those tweets were," said Chief Craig Brady with the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department. "She was trying to communicate and trying to get people to talk to her."

In those 144 tweets posted over the course of 6 hours, Billasano claimed she was molested and forced into prostitution.

HOUSTON - On Monday, a local teen tweeted the account of her tortured life hours before ending it. Now her mom and close friends are talking about what went wrong.

They emailed us wanting to tell the story of Ashley Billasano, 18, in hopes of bringing awareness to a variety of issues. They believe Ashley took her life in such a public way because she wanted to make a point.

Friendships always came easy for Ashley Billasano, or Billy as she was known. Most classmates at BF Terry High School in Rosenberg knew her as a happy, energetic honor student, but close friend Ashly Escamilla saw another side.

Wow! Tiffany, Ashley's mother, failed to mention in previous interviews that Ashley's stepfather (when Ashley was 7), was charged with multiple aggravated sexual assaults of Ashley by her then stepfather Allan Leskinen, Tiffany's now ex-husband. It happened 11 years ago in Houston, TX.

Allan Leskinen was convicted eleven years ago and is nearing the end of his 11 year prison sentence.

Poor Ashley! Being abused by a stepfather (at the time) and then allegedly by her father, when she got older, in another county.

Per the info in the video above, prosecutors were planning to take the case to a Travis County, Tx Grand Jury.

Ashley was under the impression that they "dropped" the case; no charges against her father.

HOUSTON - Hundreds of people said their final goodbyes to a local high school student who killed herself after tweeting about years of sex abuse.

Fox 26 has been following the story all week. We now know the abuse case against Ashley Billasano's alleged attacker is still active.

Travis County prosecutors say they plan to present the case to a grand jury soon.

Friday night was a celebration of the 18-year-old's life, but the sanctuary of First Baptist Church in Rosenberg was filled with wounded hearts.

An 18-year-old high school student sent 144 tweets expressing her pain and grief before killing herself.

Ashley Billasano did not go to her school in Rosenberg, a suburb of Houston, Texas, as usual on Tuesday morning.
Instead, the senior at BF Terry High School took to her Twitter page, posting more than 100 tweets over the course of six hours.

HOUSTON - FOX 26 has a follow up to an important story we've been following for a week. It's the story of Terry High School senior Ashley Billasano, 18, the Rosenberg teen who killed herself after claiming she'd been sexually abused for years.

Prosecutors tell FOX 26 they're not sure whether they'll be able to prove their case against Billasano's alleged attacker. The alleged abuse happened near Austin. Investigators there have been looking into the girl's claims since early this year, but her statements alone may not be enough to move forward with charges.

(CBS) NEW YORK - The mother of Texas teen Ashley Billasano is blaming police for her daughter's suicide, saying officials failed her daughter while investigating the 18-year-old's allegations of sexual abuse.

Billasano took her life last Tuesday after posting over a hundred messages on Twitter describing the ordeal of dealing both with the abuse and investigators. Her mother told CNN that Billasano lost hope and thought the abuser would never be prosecuted.

All I can say about CPS is better late than never...I just wonder what they can do at this late date and if charges can still be brought...Now not only is it abuse but manslaughter...

ROUND ROCK — A Houston-area teen who killed herself this week after sharing allegations of sexual abuse on Twitter had filed a report with Pflugerville police before moving away at the end of last school year.

"Yes, we did take a report," Assistant Chief Jim McLean said Thursday. He could not provide information on when the report was filed or who it involved other than the teen. "When it comes to sexual assault and children, our hands are tied about what we can and can't say."

It is my understanding Ashley's friends and maternal family contacted KRIV (FOX) - Houston to tell Ashley's story. FOX - Houston told Ashley's story for several days.

Ashley's friends started a Facebook page, RIP - Ashley Marie Billasano, to ensure Ashley's story will be seen by many.

It is remarkable that there have been over 6,000 hits on her thread here at Reality Chatter.

An 18-year-old high school student sent 144 tweets expressing her pain and grief before killing herself.
Ashley Billasano did not go to her school in Rosenberg, a suburb of Houston, Texas, as usual on Tuesday morning.
Instead, the senior at BF Terry High School took to her Twitter page, posting more than 100 tweets over the course of six hours.
n the messages, the pretty 18-year-old said she has been molested and forced into prostitution, My Fox Houston reported.
More than 500 people were following her Twitter account when she tweeted, 'I'd love to hear what you have to say but I wont be around.'
And finally her last tweet,
'Take two. I hope I get this right.'
The troubled teen used the social networking website to describe how she felt the first time she was abused. She wrote: [afterwards]
'I went to the bathroom and locked the door'
'I took apart a razor. I did what I had to do to forget. I swear after that night I was never the same'
She explained that she had confided in adults about the horrific secret, but nothing happened.
'I remember telling my closest teacher and CPS and the police detectives' she said.
'I remember having to tell them everything.'
Chief Craig Brady of the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Department told My Fox Houston: 'It's obvious she needed somebody to talk to and that's what I believe those tweets were.
'She was trying to communicate and trying to get people to talk to her.'
Brady said Ashley had made allegations of abuse a year ago in Williamson County, near Austin.
According to friends the suffering Ashley wanted her death to make a difference even though her life had become insufferable.
Her 144 tweets, which took place over six hours on 7th November and finished a short time before she killed herself through suffocation, seemed to recount sexual abuse at the hands of a family member and other adults.
Ashly Escamilla, her classmate and best friend told the Houston Chronicle: 'This wasn't random. She planned this for a reason.
'She made a decision that this was what she was going to do to get attention if she was not going to get justice.'

No wonder her mother failed to tell the police and media about her husband Allan Leskinen. she divorced the guy after he was convicted BUT THEN before she served 5 yrs at the Hobby Unit for the attempted murder of another woman, she REMARRIED Mr. Leskinen by proxy! What kind of mother can remarry her child's rapist and SHE wants to blame CPS and the police? WHERE IS HER BLAME? An if this poor girl was being tortured again by yet another abuser, WHY did it take Tiffany FOUR YEARS after her release from prison, to save that poor girl! Oh Tiffany was correct in using the works "sick and twisted" for this who abused this poor girl, but WHERE was the "sick and twisted" mother when she CHOSE to remarry her child's rapist who SHE CHOSE to leave that girl alone with while she lead the wild lifestyle that CAUSED her child to be abused when she was ONLY 7 yrs old! Tiffany and Allan and anyone else mixed up in that TWISTED lifestyle is to be blamed. I did not even know this girl, but my heart aches for her and my stomach is sickened by the adults who all along put themselves BEFORE the welfare of this child! SHAME ON YOU TIFFANY AND ALLAN! Well, you said if there are any new developments in this poor child's case, you will report it here. All I can say based on all that I know is that if what you say is true, there will be a lot of dirty laundry exposing this girl's Mother than any of you realize. Collectively, there are many to be blamed and if they cannot be prosecuted, then they should at least be EXPOSED for the parts they all played in in this girl's death. With regards to Tiffany, Allan and all the rest (who have been reported to the police) if nothing else, let them all face the embarrassment of the ENTIRE story coming out rather than then reaping blood money because they want to blame CPS and the police when the mirror on the wall really reflects THEM as the deviants! It breaks my heart that no one stopped for even a moment to see this child needed help! It makes me even sicker that there is a MOTHER out there looking for ways to make blood
money on the death of a child she couldn't even protect BECAUSE she was serving 5
yrs in prison for trying to kill the wife of someone she was obsessed with! Guess that
guy meant more to her than the fact that a month or so later her kid was being
raped because of her actions. TIFFANY abandoned her child and the cops have all the
documents (yes, I said DOCUMENTS). As a Mother, I'm sorry she lost her child. I'd
have no heart if I felt no feelings for this beautiful girl! But UNLIKE Tiffany, NO MAN
would be worth going to jail for at the risk of leaving my child behind at the mercy of

For teens, the world of social media can be a refuge - a place where they can confidently discuss their passions, secret desires, and, for some, suicide.

That was the case for two Houston girls who recently killed themselves after extensive Twitter and blog posts about their frustrations with life.

One tweeted a picture of a loaded revolver before she shot herself in the head last week.

In the cases of Ashley Duncan, 17, and Ashley Billasano, 18, it appears that none of their hundreds of Twitter followers sounded an alarm about their tweets. Duncan had for days added blog and Twitter posts illustrating despair before she killed herself Jan. 30 in a grassy area near a bayou in southwest Houston. Billasano killed herself by suffocation in November after tweeting 144 times over a six-hour period about instances of sexual abuse she said she suffered that failed to draw criminal charges. She ended by saying, "I'd love to hear what you have to say. But I won't be around."

On November 7, 2011, Ashley Marie Billasano stayed home from school so she could kill herself.

The 18-year-old Rosenberg high school senior told her closest friend, who drove her to school every morning, that she wasn't feeling well. Then, from 6:44 a.m. to 2:08 p.m., she issued 144 tweets, many of which alleged years of sexual abuse at the hands of her father John Billasano, when she lived with him in Round Rock and Pflugerville.

At the urging of friends, Ashley had reluctantly told a teacher about the alleged abuse in spring 2011. The teacher notified Child Protective Services. The investigation would prove inconclusive. At 1:37 p.m. the day of her death, Ashley tweeted about a call she had received from a CPS caseworker: "Weeks passed then I got the call. They said, 'Sorry, but there isn't enough evidence.' I hung up. That's when I changed. I didn't care anymore."

In addition to her tweets, Ashley left behind a four-page suicide note that her mother, Tiffany Ruiz-Leskinen, has not shared with Ashley's friends. Her closest friend read redacted excerpts at the funeral. According to friends, Tiffany shared the note with the church minister, who excised the profanity — there was apparently quite a bit. After all, God's house was no place for cuss words.

I have not seen the Austin area news media report any commentary by Travis County Assistant District Attorney Dayna Blazey.

I lit a candle for Ashley. No candles were lit.

Shortly after I set the candle site up to honor Ashley's memory as this tragic story unfolded, there were over 40 candles lit. Many young folks from the Facebook page lit a candle.

Today, as time moves on . . . there were no candles lit.

Word just came down from TDCJ. Looks like Tiffany's current HUSBAND, Allan Leskinen will not make parole this time around. My advice to everyone is to keep writing letters expressing grave concern over the possibility that he could be released to a halfway house. Regardless of whether they let him out now OR wait until next year, he (like Tiffany) can only be required to "serve all" for his crimes against this child. Next year he will be free but will forever be labeled as a sex offender. In the mean time, everyone can do their part by writing letters of protest to the parole board and the TDCJ Victims Unit. It is unlikely he will see an early release date while letters of protest pour in. In the mean time, Tiffany ought to get that marriage by proxy to her rapist husband null and void or if necessary, FILE FOR DIVORCE AGAIN. You lost one child to your poor decisions, don't sacrifice the rest of your children as well. And BTW, don't send money to Tiffany as she's a convicted felon as well. Write letters of protest to the TDCJ parole board..buy paper and stamps to give a voice to this poor child who can no longer speak for herself. Don't line Tiffany's pockets with blood money.
