Children became pawns in the hands of vengeful criminal offenders this week. In local and national cases, adults in dysfunctional, illicit relationships used children in their schemes of revenge.

Very important to think about for sexual abuse too.
Too many parents have the conversation about strange people instead of strange behavior. It's a difficult conversation, but kids need to know that sometimes people - even people theor parents know or family can try to cross
Lines that are wrong. They should be wary of people who try to strike up secret or special friendships and to trust their feelings if any adult is too affectionate or inappropriate in any way. Kids need to be empowered to a certain extent about e presing their discomfort with adults. Also they need to know their parents are comfortable about discussing these things, so that they are not embarrassed to bring up any concerns they have.
