Pennsylvania State Police have issued an amber child abduction alert for the Upper Merion Township Police Department.

Police say Saavni Venna, a 10-month-old baby, was abducted by an unknown person during a homicide. She was last seen at the Marquis Apartment complex on the 200 block of West Dekalb Pike in King of Prussia some time between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday.

Police described Venna as an Asian-Indian female, standing 2-foot-6 and weighing 21 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white dress with pink flowers and wearing unknown jewelry.

Police have not yet revealed any information regarding the homicide or suspect.

Neighbor Posts $30,000 Reward for Missing Pennsylvania Baby

A neighbor in the town where a 10-month-old baby disappeared after her grandmother was murdered has put up a $30,000 reward for information on the crimes.

A woman who lives in King of Prussia, Pa., put up the money to help find Saanvi Venna, who was taken from her apartment in the town on Monday morning after her grandmother was killed, according to Upper Merion Township police

Police declined to identify the woman except to say she is of Indian descent and has been living in King of Prussia for the past 12 years.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has intensified the search for a 10-month-old Indian baby who was abducted from her parents’ apartment in a Philadelphia suburb earlier this week.

Satyavathi Venna, the child’s grandmother, was found dead on the scene when authorities arrived, who then determined the child was missing and issued an Amber Alert.

A 61-year-old Indian woman found slain in a Montgomery County apartment where she was babysitting her granddaughter while visiting her family died of cuts to her neck and chest, a coroner said Thursday. The 10-month old girl remains missing.

Montgomery County Coroner Walter Hofman ruled the death of Satyavathi Venna a homicide. Investigators responding to the apartment in King of Prussia on Monday discovered Venna's body and found the granddaughter, Saanvi Venna, missing. Authorities believe the abduction happened sometime between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. that day.

Authorities on Thursday said they are increasing the award for information leading to the baby's safe return to $50,000.

Candlelight vigil held for missing Philadelphia-area 10-month-old, Saanvi Venna

(CBS) KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.- Hundreds of people gathered in a King of Prussia park on Wednesday night, at a candlelight vigil to pray for the safe return of missing 10-month-old Saanvi Venna, CBS Philly reports.

Authorities believe that Saanvi was abducted from her home in the Marquis Apartments in King of Prussia, where her grandmother was found dead on Monday.

"This is in memory of my aunt, as well as offering prayers for the safe return of Saanvi," said Vijaya Reddy, a cousin of the missing girl. "I deeply appreciate that these many people could come and show support and pray with us."

Washington, Oct 25: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has intensified the search for a 10-month-old Indian baby who was abducted from her parents' apartment in a Philadelphia suburb earlier this week.

Satyavathi Venna, 61, was babysitting her granddaughter Saanvi on the morning of Oct 22 when somebody took away the infant after murdering the former. Investigators suspect that Satyavathi was killed between 8 am and 1 pm local time.

However, they are not revealing how she was murdered or whether any suspects have been identified. The Philly Inquirer quoted Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman as saying, "We do not want to do anything that would jeopardise the child's safety."

Abducted Pennsylvania baby found dead; suspect in custody

A 10-month-old Pennsylvania girl abducted after her grandmother, who was babysitting, was slain has been found dead, NBC10 in Philadelphia reported Friday.

Police have arrested a man who lives in the complex in connection with the death. They said they believe the man initially intended to kidnap Saanvi Venna and hold her for ransom. Investigators found a ransom note demanding $50,000 in the suspect's apartment.

The baby was suffocated and stuffed into a suitcase found hidden in the gym at the family's apartment complex, the Marquis Apartments, NBC10 said, citing Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri-Ferman.

I hope the bastard gets the death penalty, I can understand the tussle w/the grandmother and she dying, BUT to murder the baby is beyond belief. The baby could have been left anywhere alive as she was too young to tell LE anything. I will never understand.

Saanvi Venna, the 10-month-old girl who has been missing since Oct. 22, 2012 was found dead on Friday, October 26, 2012. Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman says a family friend planned to kidnap the girl and hold her for a $50,000 ransom. The suspect, Raghunandan Yandamuri, who Ferman said assisted in the search for the little girl is now facing several charges including murder, kidnapping, robbery and other related offenses. Venna had been missing since Oct. 22, the day her 60-year-old grandmother was found slain in the family's Upper Merion Township apartment. The girl was found dead in the basement of another building in the same apartment complex. An autopsy is underway on the girl. The Montgomery County coroners says her grandmother, Satyavathi Venna, died of cuts of her neck and chest.

"He believed the family was of sufficient means to pay that ransom," Ferman said.

As he was leaving the scene of the elder Venna's murder, Ferman said, Yandamuri "suffocated" the baby with a handkerchief and placed her in a suitcase, later disposing of the body.

The chillingly detailed ransom note allegedly left by Yandamuri threatened that Saanvi would be "cut into pieces" and have her body parts "thrown into your apartments" if the family informed anyone of the abduction.

Ferman said that Yandamuri also lived at the Marquis apartments and had known the Venna family "socially" since the summer.

Ferman said authorities believe that Yandamuri did not initially intend to kill the victims and that he had appeared as a support figure for the family in the days since the killing, going so far as to post "missing" fliers for Saanvi Venna.
