You are correct, but she said it "hurt" her eye.

I think she's acting like a kid that needs attention that doesn't want to verbally call your attention to it but wants to put it in your face so you'll ask about it... Like you have cool new shoes and nobody complimented you on them so you keep dropping stuff to draw attention to your feet so people will notice...

That's exactly right. Instead of just prosecuting a monster, it seems as if there needs to be damage control done in the name of the victim after the monumental character assassination. I disagree with our system. I don't think a perpetrator should be allowed to mount any defense they think might fly in an effort to 'get off'.
Sad, and hardly true justice in my opinion.

On that first page, they interview Marie "Mimi" Hall. It seems as though TA was seeing her for a short time. During this time he invited her on the Cancun trip.

She decided she wanted to just remain friends- but the Cancun trip was already set up.

TA was murdered on June 4th, the Cancun trip was scheduled to depart on June 10th.

Marie was the one who alerted everyone to not hearing from TA and initiated checking out the house after her phone calls went unanswered or returned.

Mimi, would be the one, I am inclined to believe, was the chica JA observed through the window making out with TA.

From the heavy petting JA stated, it wouldn't surprise me if this wasn't the reason why Mimi decided to "just remain friends".

I've also read or heard or whatever, that this girl Marie "Mimi" Hall was someone TA was in love with.

I don't know JA ACTUALLY saw TA with anyone.
Further, it was not asked what TIME JA was supposed to go to the house to get her SS card; what time did she ACTUALLY get there;

IF TA was expecting her, why did she not knock at the front door? She saw someone's car and decide to spy on them? Spy on her FORMER bf? Did I get that right?

Yesterday, it clearly seemed like she was bringing up NEW details and nuances to her direct/cross examination. (ie, finger bent/not bent, pages ripped out of journal, three some, etc). I thought legally that Nurmi could only RE-cross on what Juan brought up....has anyone seen any legal explanation on why this is being allowed.

Clearly she is trying to tailor her testimony to that of what is in the DV report/expert coming up.

I don't know what to think about all the new little details. I believe they are lies but it is the rules of the court that are puzzling me. I know that judges nowadays try to bend over backwards (probably not the right term in this trial) for the defendent, but what about the rule of law? I think this judge is only half listening to what is going on. She seems arbitrary with some of her rulings. JMO

@ tess I think the judge calls breaks and tunes out because of some of the testimony ... she really does not look comfortable with the graphic details of the "sex, lies and videotape" of the skunk skank Jodi! MOO MOO MOO

It seems defense attorney's and their clients manufacture whatever they think gives them even a glimmer of a chance to well, let's face it---get away with murder. And I disagree---"every defense" implies a LEGITMATE DEFENSE---("every defense" are not the words I would have chosen, anyway).

This isn't a game. Sometimes their outrageous schemes and wholesale lies work, and a murderer walks free---Casey Anthony is just one example, and a perfect one illustrating what I said; They threw everything but the kitchen sink at the wall (Pedo George Anthony, accidental drowning, etc.), and hoped something would stick.
THAT IS NOT TRUTH OR JUSTICE; that is just manipulation and luck on the part of sick defendants and unscrupulous lawyers who don't have an honorable or altruistic bone in their bodies.

A prosecutor is not allowed to use lies or manufacture evidence in order to mount a case against a defendant. (In fact, the police cannot arrest someone without demonstrating PROBABLE CAUSE TO A JUDGE.) In my opinion, so a defense attorney should also NOT be allowed to use lies, manufactured evidence, and the like to attempt to free a known killer. But in our society and system, they are, and they do.

You are absolutely right that Nurmi is supposed to redirect ONLY ON THE MATERIAL THAT WAS PRESENTED IN DIRECT AND CROSS. This is so outrageous, and I am very UN-impressed with this judge! IMO this is really a travesty. I am suprised Juan is not asking to speak to her in chambers.
The only thing I can think is that AZ law is different...
I haven't seen the redirect but it sounds like Jodi is throwing in all kinds of 'damage control' new stories! This would anger me, and I would see right through it. This is stuff kids do when they don't want to get punished for something. I can't imagine the jury can't see right through this!

Yes...This also extends to how she cannot carry on a conversation or demonstrate normal mature social skills if in a group of people where Travis was present and where he is having a normal non-sexual conversation with a woman other than Jodi.
Jodi has demonstrated repeatedly that her jealousy was so profound and so twisted that IF Travis was just chatting with a female co-worker or friend, or wife of a friend, Jodi became quiet, sullen, moody, and pouty. It really is creepy in the extreme. I am sure it was the first turnoff Travis experienced, and IMO I think it was this that sent alarm bells off in his mind and made him realize that for him, she WAS NOT wife material.

If so, WHY does Nurmi insist on going on and on and on in slo-mo and beating a dead horse that isn't relevant anyway? Why does the judge just sit up there like a zoned out frog and not exert herself to try and keep a little control over her court?

I truly have had it with this trial, and I can't imagine the misery the jurors are going through, as well as Travis' friends and family.
