Man accused of murdering pregnant estranged wife to face a judge

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The man accused of murdering his pregnant estranged wife, will face a judge today.

Deputies arrested Matthew Sowders last week after finding Melissa Sowders' body in Cypress Creek.

The couple had four children together and Melissa Sowders was pregnant with a child from a separate relationship.

Viewing the records/entries from the Harris County District Clerk's Office (Houston, TX), the next court date
for Matthew O. Sowders is 3/5/14 at 9 a.m. CST in State District Court #338, for  Arraignment.

During Matthew O. Sowders'  1/6/14 court appearance, Arraignment was Reset Upon Defense Request.
 Judge Brock Thomas of the 338th Criminal (State District) Court was the presiding judge for that court date and will be on 3/5/14 also.
