The boyfriend of missing Kentucky mother Crystal Rogers defends himself in an exclusive interview with HLN’s Nancy Grace.

“All of my efforts in searching for her have been done behind the scenes with the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office,” Brooks Houck told Grace Thursday.

“I’ve been 100% completely honest with everyone. I’ve been 100% cooperative in everything that that has been asked of me. I’ve not asked for any kind of legal advice or assistance, an attorney of any nature. I’m 100% completely innocent in this and I have exhausted my efforts with the law enforcement agencies to gather all the facts necessary to allow me to have a clean name again,” Houck added.

Deputies execute search warrant in connection to missing woman case

NELSON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) -  One week ago Friday was the last time anyone saw 35-year-old Crystal Rogers. She was with her boyfriend at the home they share in Bardstown.

Her family found her car abandoned on the Bluegrass Parkway on Sunday. Investigators said Rogers' 2007 maroon Impala was unlocked with the key in the ignition and her phone, purse and other belongings inside.

Although no suspects have been named in this missing persons case, about a dozen law enforcement officials executed a search warrant Friday at the farm of Rogers' boyfriend's mother. Deputies would not say the reason behind their search.

Family and friends held a prayer vigil for Rogers Wednesday evening.

"We've searched rivers, creeks woods anything we can find. We've searched the entire area on both sides of the roads, we haven't come up with anything yet," Sherry Ballard, Crystal's mother said Wednesday.

As many as 200 people searched the area for her Wednesday along Highway 49 and Roberts Road. Rogers was last seen Friday night at the home of her boyfriend Brooks Houck.

"She's got little kids and they miss their mama. Her little boy's at home and she's never been away from him," Ballard said.

Search for missing Bardstown woman to resume Saturday (Video)

NELSON COUNTY, Ky. —One week after a Bardstown mother was last seen, family and law enforcement continue their search.

The latest search for Crystal Rogers, 35, ended around 9 p.m. Friday night.

Sheriff's deputies, state and local police, and even volunteer firefighters searched a 240-acre farm off Paschal Ballard Lane belonging to the mother of Rogers' boyfriend.  

While this investigation continues, WLKY has been told searchers will not be returning to that area Saturday.

Family, meanwhile, have also joined the search.

Along with dozens of volunteers, Sherry Ballard spent Friday searching for her daughter.

The family has been searching for Rogers and answers since Sunday when her car was found miles from her home, abandoned.

Kentucky Woman's Boyfriend Who Last Saw Her Alive Denies Involvement in Her Disappearance

The search continues for a mother of five last seen the day before the Fourth of July holiday.

Crystal Rogers was last seen by her live-in boyfriend, Brooks Houck, on July 3, according to the Nelson County Sheriff's Office in Kentucky. Houck said she stayed up late that night and when he woke up the next morning, she was gone.

Since then, police and volunteers have worked to retrace her steps, scouring farmland and woods in the area.

But the only sign of Rogers, 35, so far was her car -- a maroon Chevrolet with a flat tire -- found along the side of Kentucky's Bluegrass Parkway, an area loved ones told police she rarely traveled.

Rogers’ keys, purse and uncharged cell phone were inside the vehicle.

The sister of a Kentucky woman last seen more than a week ago believes her live-in boyfriend knows something about her disappearance, despite him denying involvement and police saying he has been extremely cooperative with investigators.

Crystal Rogers was last seen by Brooks Houck, her live-in boyfriend, on July 3, according to the Nelson County Sheriff's Office in Kentucky. Her sister, Brooke Ballard, said she has questioned Houck's claims that Rogers, 35, stayed up late that night and was gone when he awoke the next morning.

"The stories just don't add up. You just don't go to bed one night and not know she's gone and then not worry when she left the baby," said Ballard. "He has not offered once to search -- or help -- or do anything for the family."

Crystal Rogers, 35, vanished on July 3 from the Bardstown home she shared with her boyfriend, leaving behind the couple’s young son, authorities said.

The boyfriend, Brooks Houck, has said he didn’t have anything to do with her disappearance, but Rogers’ worried family is suspicious.

“The stories just don’t add up,” Rogers’ sister, Brooke Ballard, told ABC News.

Houck told investigators he went to bed on the night of July 3, and Rogers was gone when he woke.

He waited another two days to contact authorities.

Kentucky mother of 5 missing in second disappearance to strike family

A Kentucky mother of five is missing in what authorities say is the second such tragedy to strike her family.

Investigators say Crystal Rogers, 35, of Bardstown was last seen July 3 by her live-in boyfriend, with whom she has a young son. Brooks Houck told authorities that Rogers stayed up late that night and, when he woke the next morning, she was gone.

Her maroon 2007 Chevy Impala was found abandoned two days later along Kentucky's Bluegrass Parkway, ABC News reports. Rogers' keys, purse and cell phone were inside the vehicle, which had a flat tire.

The Kentucky Standard reported that Rogers' disappearance is the second to occur in her family. Rogers' paternal aunt, Sherry Ballard Barnes, disappeared in 1979 at the age of 19.

Barnes, who was more than seven months pregnant when she disappeared, was never seen alive again. Her purse and car were found in the Ohio River a week after she vanished, but it was three years before investigators found her remains and those of her unborn child buried in a rural area.

Her husband, Edsel "Eddie" Barnes, was convicted in 1984 of hiring a man to kill his pregnant wife to avoid the cost of delivering and paying to support the child, the Kentucky New Era reported. He was sentenced to life in prison.

Crystal Rogers Missing 10 Days, Family Questions Boyfriend's Story

Her phone, keys and purse were all left behind in her abandoned car, but there are few other clues as to what happened to Crystal Rogers.

On Friday, law enforcement served a search warrant on the 240-acre farm Houck's mother owns, but police have not released any information concerning or what they may have found there, or what led them to the property. Houck also says he took a polygraph test, but the results were inconclusive.

Detectives with the Nelson County Sheriff's Office say they are continuing to follow up on the leads generated since Crystal went missing, but they have not named any persons of interest or suspects in the case.

Whatever may have happened, Ballard says her family will not stop searching.

"Bring her home. Just bring her back to us, we beg you to," said Sherry Ballard, Crystal's mother.

The parents of a Kentucky woman last seen 10 days ago suspect foul play in her disappearance.

Crystal Rogers, 35, a mother of five, was last seen by her live-in boyfriend, Brooks Houck, on July 3, according to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office.

Houck has said he had nothing to with Rogers’ disappearance. He has been extremely cooperative with investigators, police said, and he took a polygraph test.

"I'm 100 percent, completely innocent in this,” he told HLN’s Nancy Grace, adding that his search efforts have been done "behind the scenes."

”I want the emphasis to remain on Crystal’s safe return," Houck said.

But Rogers’ parents, Tommy and Sherry Ballard, told ABC News in an interview that they’re not convinced by Houck’s story.

“He's had no emotion. it’s like nothing has changed for him. And to us, our whole world has changed,” Sherry Ballard said.

The family was involved with weekend search efforts.

“All the support from the community just means the world to us,” Sherry Ballard said.

The search has intensified for a missing Kentucky mother of five, who was last seen alive more than a week ago by her live-in boyfriend.

Crystal Rogers, 35, was last seen playing games on her phone on the night of July 3, claims boyfriend Brooks Houck, who said the mother to his 2-year-old son was not at home when he woke up the next morning.

Houck said he wasn't concerned because the couple has had a 'stressed relationship' at times and Crystal would sometimes 'cope or deal' by spending the night at her cousin Sabrina's house.

'I was not in the least little bit alarmed in any way, shape or form,' he told Nancy Grace on HLN.

'She spent the night there on several occasions.'

Houck said the 'maximum' period of time Rogers would stay away 'has only been a day to a day and a half most', so he called her once in the morning before attending a July 4 gathering.

Brooke Ballard, Rogers' sister, said she doesn't believe Houck's stories add up.

'You just don't go to bed one night and not know she's gone and then not worry when she left the baby,' Ballard told ABC News.

Family plans large search on Saturday for missing Bardstown woman (Video)

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (WDRB) -- Even though Crystal Rogers was last seen two weeks ago, the search to find her has not slowed down. Family, friends and complete strangers have been searching every day.

With camp set up on Kentucky 49 near the Avon Fogle Bridge for days, volunteers came to sign up and help look for the missing mother of five.

“If this was my daughter, I would want any volunteers I could get to help,” said volunteer Mary Mattingly.

Many having been coming in from out of state after hearing about Crystal’s story.

“We can't express with words what it means to us,” said Crystal’s mother Sherry Ballard.

Cadaver dogs from Florida joined the search covering 80 acres in three hours.

“And the terrain around here is hilly, rocky, wet, it’s tough,” said Mike Gordey with Bring Them Home Search and Rescue.

Crystal Rogers, a 35-year-old mom of five kids — including a two-year-old boy with her boyfriend Brooks Houck — vanished from the home the couple shared in Bardstown, Kentucky, on July 3. On Saturday, July 18, with the missing mom gone for more than two weeks, her family put together a new search that brought together more than 100 people from several states to comb the area once more for any trace of Crystal.

But according to the missing woman’s family, Houck has not helped at all — and has proceeded with his daily life as if nothing is any different, accusations which Houck denies.

“He hasn’t participated with us at all,” said Crystal’s mom, Sherry Ballard. “If he truly loved my daughter, he would do anything to find her because we’re doing anything.”

She also accused Houck of having “no emotion” about Crystal’s disappearance. “It’s like nothing has changed for him,” she said.

“Him or none of his family has been out to find her,” said the missing woman’s father, Tommy Ballard, in a local TV interview. “We’re the ones who reported her missing.”

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Crystal Rogers, 35, has been missing since July 3.

The mother of five was last seen at her boyfriend's farm in Nelson County and more than 100 people spent Saturday looking for her.

"She was very very well liked, very good mother," said Sammy Johnson who leading the chase. "The biggest thing is the strangers that don't even know her, don't know anything about the family, have come out ... To me, to see these people come out, it's just a blessing."

Johnson says they're looking everywhere including down private wells, on dead end roads and in fields and ravines.

They'll be out again Sunday.

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The search for the missing Bardstown mother of five, Crystal Rogers, is now in its seventh week. On Wednesday, her parents had their first court appearance since filing for grandparents’ rights and partial custody of Crystal's youngest son, Eli.

"It's like we've lost two people in our family. The kids are excited about maybe getting to see him and I've got to go home now and tell them they are not, but it’s OK we are going to get through it and they are going to see him," Sherry Ballard, Crystal's mother, said.

Crystal Rogers has been missing since July 3. Her car was found on the Bluegrass Parkway with her belongings inside.

Two-year-old Eli is the only child Crystal shares with boyfriend Brooks Houck, who had no comment on this case.

"No comment, thank you. Y'all have a good day," Brooks Houck said.

Bardstown police officer suspended

BARDSTOWN, Ky. (WHAS11) -- In this brief statement released Thursday Bardstown Police Chief Rick McCubbin said officer Nick Houck has been suspended until further notice.

McCubbin did not give a reason or any further details. WHAS11 learned Houck is suspended with pay.

Officer Houck is the brother of Brooks Houck, the boyfriend of missing Bardstown mother of five, Crystal Rogers.

Bardstown police would not comment on if it has anything to do with the investigation into Crystal Rogers disappearance.

We asked Rogers' parents about the suspension.

"We have no comment on that at the moment," Sherry Ballard said, Crystal's mom.

BARDSTOWN, KY (WAVE) - An open records request into the history of suspended Bardstown police officer paints the picture of an officer who refused to follow protocol, was chronically late to work and one who used his police cruiser for personal business.

Nick Houck was suspended from the Bardstown Police Department earlier in September.

Nick Houck is the brother of Brooks Houck, the ex-boyfriend of Crystal Rogers, the mother of five who disappeared in July.

WAVE 3 News did not find anything in Nick Houck’s file that connected him to Rogers case.

According to his personnel file, Houck often refused to notify dispatch when he made stops often putting other lives in danger.

Complaints said he showed up to work late and left work early.

Houck was suspended for insubordination.

Employee of Boyfriend Arrested on Perjury Charges in Crystal Rogers Case

More than five months after Kentucky mother Crystal Rogers vanished, police have arrested a man for lying to authorities early on in the investigation.

Danny L. Singleton, reportedly a close friend and longtime employee of Crystal's boyfriend Brooks Houck, is charged with 38 counts of perjury for lying to investigators under oath. Singleton was arrested at his home in Bardstown, Kentucky late Wednesday evening.

Houck was named a suspect in the disappearance in October. He was the last person, investigators say, to see Crystal before she disappeared on July 3, 2015 from the home the couple shared with their young son. Two days later, Crystal's unlocked, maroon 2007 Chevy Impala was found abandoned along Kentucky's Bluegrass Parkway with a flat tire -- her belongings still inside, police said.

BARDSTOWN, KY (WAVE) - A man charged with lying under oath about the disappearance of Crystal Rogers pleaded not guilty Thursday.

In December, Danny Singleton, was charged with 38 counts of perjury after a grand jury trial testimony in reference to Rogers' disappearance.

Rogers was reported missing July 5. Her boyfriend, Brooks Houck, was named the lead suspect in her disappearance, according to police.
