Kathy Dymes is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in White Plains.
Kathleen Dymes
The mother of a 6-year-old girl who was found dead in the bedroom of her Croton-on-Hudson house Easter Sunday surrendered to police Wednesday on charges related to the death of her daughter, Lacey Carr.
Kathleen Dymes, 51, refused to answer any questions from reporters as she was taken from the Croton police station shortly before 1 p.m.
She is believed to be headed to court in White Plains for arraignment. The exact charge or charges have not yet been revealed.
Dymes used a wheelchair and covered her face as she left the station. Her blonde hair was visible, and she had a brace on her right leg. She had to be helped by police into a waiting vehicle.
It remains unclear how the child died.

CROTON-ON-HUDSON - Authorities hope that autopsy results can tell them how a 6-year-old girl who was found unresponsive in her home on Easter Sunday died.
The girl, Lacey Carr, was found in a bed after her father, David Carr, called 911 at 1:09 p.m., saying he could not wake her. She was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, where she was pronounced dead.
Her mother, Kathleen Dymes, 51, was found on the floor next to the bed; she remained hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Sleepy Hollow.
Lacey and Dymes live with Dymes' father at 144 Hastings Ave. in Croton. Dymes' father was home when the call was made, Croton police Detective Sgt. John Nikitopoulos said.

Lacey was a bubbly, kind and well-manerered girl who had been attending Gymnastics City since she was 3, Thompson said. Lacey and her father were at classes March 27, before the start of spring break, and nothing was amiss, Thompson said. Unlike Carr, who was always at class, Dymes would occasionally drop in to see her daughter, Thompson said.
In recent days, Carr also told Thompson he was planning to move into an apartment with Dymes and Lacey so the trio could live together as a family.
Dymes is a registered nurse who has been the subject of professional misconduct cases twice. She is not currently registered with New York state.
She was suspended for three months in 2012 and placed on two years professional probation after she was convicted of driving while intoxicated, attempted false written statement and petty larceny, all misdemeanors, the state Office of Professional Discipline shows. In 2002, she was suspended for a year after admitting to diverting Demerol from the nursing home where she worked for her personal use, records show.

Croton mom charged with negligent homicide in death of daughter, 6 (Video)
Jane Lerner, jlerner@lohud.com 8:01 p.m. EDT September 16, 2015
Kathy Dymes was arraigned Wednesday in White Plains.
Six-year-old Lacey Carr died of a overdose in a room strewn with drugs and alcohol, prosecutors said Wednesday as they charged her mother, Kathleen Dymes, with criminally negligent homicide in the Croton girl's Easter Sunday death.
Carr's body was found in her mother's bedroom, along with Benadryl, generic Valium, morphine, oxycodone, and an open container of alcohol along with heroin hidden under the bed, they said.

She pleaded not guilty and was released on $25,000 bail. She faces a maximum sentence of four years if convicted of all the charges.
She will appear in court again on September 29.
Lacey, a first-grader, had lethal levels of Benadryl, an over-the-counter medication, morphine and diazepam — the generic form of Valium — in her system, prosecutor Doreen Lloyd said during Dymes' arraignment before Westchester County Court Judge Barry Warhit.
Investigators said the morphine had been prescribed for the girl's father, David Carr, who did not live with Dymes and their daughter.
Carr was the one who discovered Dymes kneeling and unconscious near her dead daughter. Two handwritten suicide notes were found in the bedroom, prosecutors said.
