Casey Swears She Did Not Report Caylee Missing Until July 15

ORLANDO -- Prosecutors will be able to get the grand jury testimony from George Anthony to use in the case against Casey Anthony.

Judge Stan Strickland issued his decision Tuesday afternoon.

George testified before the grand jury in October 2008, one day before his daughter Casey was indicted for the murder of Caylee Anthony.

Prosecutors requested the testimony in preparation for the trial.

In other developments, Casey's defense team has added to its motion to have murder charges against her dismissed.

The additions include a document signed by Casey, swearing that she did not report Caylee missing until her mother called on July 15, 2008, and that she told deputies she dropped Caylee off with a woman named Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez.

Casey's trial is expected to begin next summer.

Can anyone tell me what the hail does this mean? How does this help her or add ANYTHING to her defense? Makes NO sense to me. Am I missing the point of Baez adding this to his motion?

The sentinel is also reporting on this. I don't understand the significance, at all.

Prosecutors will get a copy of what Casey Anthony's father told an Orange County grand jury last year, a judge ruled Tuesday.

The state wanted George Anthony's grand jury testimony so prosecutors could compare it to statements he gave two months ago during questioning under oath.

Orange Circuit Court Judge Stan Strickland granted the state's request and ordered the transcript be delivered to the State Attorney's Office.

Casey Anthony, 23, is charged with first-degree murder in death of her daughter, Caylee Marie, whose remains were found in December.

The two-year-old went missing in June 2008 but was reported missing a month later.

Her father testified before the grand jury on Oct. 14 last year – hours before his daughter was indicted. The state is seeking the death penalty.

Late Tuesday, Casey Anthony's defense team filed an addendum to its motion to dismiss the first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse charges against her. The state had called the defense's initial motion "legally flawed."

Her attorneys Jose Baez and Andrea Lyon point out again that Caylee's "cause of death is not known and that the prosecution's evidence cannot satisfy the elements of first-degree murder."

They said their motion is based on law enforcement lab results and the Orange County Medical Examiner and Casey Anthony "cannot legally swear" to their findings.

But Casey Anthony did sign a document, swearing to two statements:

"I did not report my daughter missing until my mother called on July 15, 2008."

"I did tell law enforcement that I had dropped off my child with a person named Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez when questioned by law enforcement."

Maybe whatever George said was enough for them to indict her.

The fact that Casey "swears" she did not report Caylee missing until July 15th is a total crock of you know what. She did NOT even report Caylee missing. Cindy is the one who reported it. If Casey had her way, it would never have been reported. Why are people forgetting that Casey was NOT the one who reported Caylee missing?

I agree that Casey had no intention of ever reporting Caylee missing. Cindy forced her hand and made the call herself.

Most people are able to realize that there really is only 1 reason that a mother would not report her child missing. I also believe Casey's number one motive for getting rid of Caylee was jealousy. It is so obvious from Casey's behavior that she felt Caylee was competition. When Caylee was supposed to have been "missing", where was Casey? She was out partying the night away. Normal mothers are thrilled when their child's grandparents lavish attention on their child. Not Casey Anthony. She wanted all the attention for herself, and couldn't stand giving any of it to Caylee. She was so resentful, and jealous of her own daughter she even stole money from her piggy bank!

There is no doubt that Caylee would have been beautiful had she been given the chance to grow up. I'm sure that thought bothered Casey too. I'll bet she was eaten up with resentment, and jealousy of her own daughter. I wonder how long Casey had been planning to get rid of her competition. We know that sometime in April or May she was searching Missing Children's Websites. She certainly couldn't be bothered with taking care of her own child, so why in the world would she have been worried about other children?

I hope the Prosecution will drive this point home to the Jury.
