Re: Ronald Cummings, Misty Croslin and Hank Croslin Arrested On Drug Trafficking Charges
Thanks for the link. I'll have to tune in and listen. I'd like to know what Misty had to say to Donna. However, I don't know that I'd believe much of it. I think Misty might just say things to her "new friend" to make the new friend curious or for whatever reason. Sort of like the VanderSloot video's, in the Natalee Halloway Case & the under cover reporter.
Re: Ronald Cummings, Misty Croslin and Hank Croslin Arrested On Drug Trafficking Charges
It sort of blows me away that NG isn't really saying a whole lot about Ronald but she sure is going for Misty's throat tonight. JMO

Miss Nancy has always been a fan of Ronald for some reason.

Wasn't Misty's Dad recently arrested for the doctor shopping of Oxy?

I found it interesting that Misty already has a lawyer. Almost as if the lawyer was in the waiting....
I just hope that this helps, somehow, to find out what happened to HaLeigh.

I find it odd that when the judge asked Misty what she does to support herself she said "Nuthin." When pressed further she told the judge that her mom and dad support her. But her mom has been in jail for sometime now..... and her dad was arrested too, yes? kh

It is widely known that Tim had a serious drinking problem after he lost his child. So, IMO (and definately NOT an excuse) I could see bad judgements being made by him, if he is back to drinking.
Yes, but keep in mind that Cindy Anthony was the one accusing him when they had their falling out over him "searching for a dead Caylee." kh

New Details On The Arrests of Missing Girl’s Father, Ex Stepmom and Others
http://www.bloggernews.net/123607
This in from TJ Hart - Jan Barrett
Thursday, FDLE and Putnam County Sheriff’s officials said the investigation that led to Wednesday’s arrests of Ronald Cummings, Misty Croslin, Tommy Croslin, Hope Sykes and Donna Brock stemmed from a tip from a source with knowledge of the alleged dealing of oxycodone and hydrocodone.
“We had a source come forward, and our investigator was very good at infiltrating. We were working on it about a month,” Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Johnny Greenwood said. Misty Croslin, Hank Croslin Jr. and Brock are incarcerated in the St. Johns County Jail. Cummings was moved to the Flagler County Jail. Sykes is in the Putnam County Jail.
All but Sykes were moved to jails outside of Putnam County for security reasons, according to Greenwood. Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin were placed in separate jails to avoid the possibility of communication between them.
Misty Croslin is being held in lieu of $950,000 bail; Cummings, $500,000; Brock, $250,000; Sykes, $150,000; and Hank Croslin Jr., $100,000.
Misty Croslin is facing six counts of trafficking in prescription medications. Three counts of the same charge are pending against Cummings and one against Hank Croslin Jr., Sykes and Brock, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement Agent Dominick Pape said that potential maximum sentences if convicted are: Misty Croslin, 74 years; Cummings, 43 years; Brock, 25 years; Sykes, 15 years; and Hank Croslin, three years.
Pape said a multi-county task force is stepping up its investigations of prescription drug sales.
Ronald Cummings is the father of 6-year-old HaLeigh Cummings who was taken from their home February 9, 2009 while he was at work. Misty Croslin was the babysitter for HaLeigh that night and was the last person to see her.
Since that night, Croslin’s accounts of the events of the evening have been described by police as inconsistent and in conflict with some of the physical evidence at the scene.
Greenwood said investigators will continue to pursue Haleigh’s disappearance and will use the arrests as an opportunity to try to get more information.
“These are two investigations that are parallel,” he said. “I hope something comes of it and we can gather enough information to bring it to a conclusion.”
Putnam County Sheriff’s officials in September received a letter that News Talk 97.3 The Sky published saying Haleigh died from an oxycodone overdose at a party. They referred to the letter at the time as a “farce.” Please read the letter again.

P.I. Claims Group Will Post Bond for Misty and Tommy Croslin

As you heard first on Bloggernews.net and TheSky973.com, the arrests of Ronald Cummings, Misty Croslin, Tommy Croslin, Hope Sykes and Donna Brock took place Wednesday evening and stemmed from a tip from a source with knowledge of the alleged dealing of oxycodone and hydrocodone, according to Putnam County Sheriff’s officials.
Misty Croslin is facing six counts of trafficking in prescription medications. Three counts of the same charge are pending against Cummings and one against Hank Croslin Jr., Sykes and Brock, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Ronald Cummings is the father of missing 6-year-old HaLeigh Cummings of Satsuma, FL who was abducted from her home February 9, 2009. Misty Croslin was babysitting the girl and her younger brother that night and was the last person to see her. Croslin and Cummings married a few weeks later and got a divorce a few months ago.
In a stunning move, private investigator William “Cobra” Staubs called 97.3 The SKY Friday morning to announce that he is representing a group who is seeking to post bail for Misty Croslin and Tommy Croslin.
Staubs once led a pro-bono investigation into HaLeigh Cummings’ disappearance and was the source who revealed to the public via 97.3 The SKY, FOX News Channel, Headline News and several online news sites that drugs played a prominent role in the domestic lives of Ronald Cummings, Misty Croslin, her family and perhaps might have been a factor in the child’s abduction.
AUDIO: William “Cobra” Staubs
Staubs left his independent investigation shortly after his arrest on charges of false imprisonment regarding the temporary cuffing of an accused capital child sex predator shortly after the man reportedly caused trouble at the HaLeighbug Information Center in Satsuma, FL where children were present.
Misty Croslin, Hank Croslin Jr. and Brock are incarcerated in the St. Johns County Jail. Cummings was moved to the Flagler County Jail. Sykes is in the Putnam County Jail.

UPDATE: I just got off the phone with Bill Staubs (Cobra) and he wanted to make several things clear. He is not in favor of bonding any of them out of jail. For whatever reason, the bond company involved does not want to handle the press directly and have asked Cobra to represent them as a spokesman. It was not Cobra’s idea, nor is he in agreement with the plan. He is doing this only as a professional courtesy.

P.I. Cobra Staubs: I Do Not Favor Bail for Misty or Tommy Croslin

After a morning filled with people scratching their heads over word that an unidentified group of people who used a private investigator to act as their media liaison stated that they were interested in posting bail for two of the five people arrest on drug charges Wednesday in Putnam County, private investigator William “Cobra” Staubs now wants clarify a few things.

What is Going On?
http://www.bloggernews.net/123617
Now that the dust has settled a little bit, it is possible to take a step back and look at the events that have unfolded in the past 72 hours. The one thing that I am certain of is that Putnam County are not the bunch of ‘losers’ that so many commenter’s have remarked about.
They move in a clear and clinical fashion. For the most part they try and avoid showing their cards. This makes sense. Loose lips sink ships was a slogan used in world war two. It is a good slogan. They are not forthcoming with the press, occasionally they throw a crumb our way, but mostly they prefer to keep themselves to themselves.
I am sure that the Caylee Anthony debacle has many police services rethinking their approach to the press, you cannot blame them.
It is however possible to make some observations based on actions. And the past 72 hours are a great example. There are five people in custody related to the Haleigh Cummings case, but none are accused of anything directly linking them to the case.
Is this an application of ‘pressure’? Well I would say yes.
It is an interesting adventure to look at who was caught in the dragnet, and why!
Misty Croslin is the prime person of interest. The police have said time and time again that she might be the key to unlocking the case. With her now behind bars could they be getting closer to unraveling this case?
Misty was the live in babysitter/lover/care giver/wife/ex wife of Ronald Cummings, she was also the last peson to see Haleigh Cummings. She now sits in jail with something like a million dollar bond to crack. Of course there is always some idiot that wants the publicity, so it likely is a matter of time before someone does a Leonard Paddila and bails the numbskull out. Rumor has it that Mistyis deathly scared of being behind bars, so this is a very handy form of psychological pressure.
Ronald Cummings has all but been cleared of any direct involvement in the disappearance, but in my mind he likely does know more than he has told so far. However there is also significant psychological pressure on him while he remains in jail. Obviously he cannot care for Jr. While in this position and Crystal Sheffield the biological mother has been granted temporary custody. There is little love lost between Ron and Crystal and I am sure that this situation is causing him great anguish.
Tommy Croslin is also an interesting member of this merry band of friends and family. Jail likely does not unduly bother him, this is hardly his first brush with the law. He most certainly may have information that could assist in solving the crime. In my opinion there are two possibilities, he could have been involved directly, but much more likely he was a willing helper after the event.
That leaves the other two miscreants Hope Sykes and Donna Brock. At first sight it might appear that they are just cases of collateral damage, they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. However a closer inspection shows that there may be a good reason for including them in this round up.
Donna Brock was the Texas Equusearch member that Tim Miller bankrolled to befriend Misty. Did Misty spill the beans to her new BFF? There can be little chance that Donna was involved in the original event, to the best of my knowledge she had never even heard of Misty, Ron or the rest of the gang prior to the TES involvement.
That leaves Hope Sykes, it is possible that she is the collateral damage, however, I do believe that this is one of the people involved in the robbery of Misty while trying to buy drugs. The pair are friends, so once again Hope may well have information that she has received from Misty.
In my opinion this is a five way game of chicken. Everyone has a vested interest in ratting out the others. I am sure that the pressure will intensify as Law Enforcement starts to ’sweeten the pot’. Reduced bond, reduced or dropped charges, they have plenty of bargaining chips. The next few days may prove to be very interesting in this case.

Mother of Missing Satsuma Girl Gets Custody of Son After Father’s Arrest on Drug Charges
http://www.bloggernews.net/123618
This in from TJ Hart - Jan Barrett
Shortly after the father of missing Satsuma, Fla. girl HaLeigh Cummings was arrested on drug charges, her mother, Crystal Sheffield was given full custody of her little brother, Ronald Cummings Jr.
On Wednesday, Ronald Cummings, along with his ex-wife Misty and her brother, and two others, were arrested for drug trafficking. If convicted as charged, FDLE officials say Misty could serve 74 years in state prison while Ronald could be sentenced to as much as 43 years behind bars.
The arrests took place after a month long sting that determined that Cummings and the others were illegally buying and selling prescription drugs. Although HaLeigh’s disappearance over a year ago and the recent arrests are totally unrelated, police are hopeful the arrests will help them solve the case of the missing girl.
An emergency hearing was held Thursday to determine who should obtain custody of HaLeigh’s little brother, Ronald Cummings, Jr. after the elder Cummings’ arrest, according to reports on News 4 Jax. Crystal Sheffield, the mother of both HaLeigh and Ronald Jr. was awarded custody of the boy, and was allowed to pick him up on Friday afternoon, according to the post made by Marie Griffis on her Facebook page.

No Bond Posted Yet for Suspects in Putnam Co. Drug Arrests

All five suspects arrested Wednesday on drug trafficking charges in Putnam County remained behind bars as of Saturday morning despite an announcement made by a private investigator on behalf of a group of people rumored to be from Nevada who expressed interest in bonding out two of the suspects, Misty Croslin and Tommy Croslin.
As you heard first on TheSky973.com, the arrests of Ronald Cummings, Misty Croslin, Tommy Croslin, Hope Sykes and Donna Brock took place Wednesday evening and stemmed from a tip from a source with knowledge of the alleged dealing of oxycodone and hydrocodone, according to Putnam County Sheriff’s officials.
Misty Croslin is facing six counts of trafficking in prescription medications. Three counts of the same charge are pending against Cummings and one against Hank Croslin Jr., Sykes and Brock, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Misty Croslin is being held in lieu of $950,000 bail; Cummings, $500,000; Brock, $250,000; Sykes, $150,000; and Hank Croslin Jr., $100,000.
Private investigator William “Cobra” Staubs called 97.3 The SKY Friday morning to announce that he is acting as a media representative for a group who is seeking to post bail for Misty Croslin and Tommy Croslin. Staubs publicly stated that he does not personally want to see the two out of jail, but agreed to make the announcement on behalf of the group.
Staubs left his independent investigation shortly after his arrest on charges of false imprisonment relating to the temporary cuffing of an accused capital child sex predator shortly after the man reportedly caused trouble at the HaLeighbug Information Center in Satsuma, FL where children were present.
Misty Croslin, Hank Croslin Jr. and Brock are incarcerated in the St. Johns County Jail. Cummings was moved to the Flagler County Jail. Sykes is in the Putnam County Jail.
All but Sykes were moved to jails outside of Putnam County for security reasons. Ronald Cummings and Misty Croslin were placed in separate jails to avoid the possibility of communication between them.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement Agent Dominick Pape said that potential maximum sentences if convicted are: Misty Croslin, 74 years; Cummings, 43 years; Brock, 25 years; Sykes, 15 years; and Hank Croslin, three years.

Re: Ronald Cummings, Misty Croslin and Hank Croslin Arrested On Drug Trafficking Charges
One thing I don't understand, among many, is..since Misty is unemployed and her parents are not wealthy is her attorney representing her pro bono??? If not...is there a book in the making that he's gonna get the proceeds from??? Has anyone, including media confirmed his representation of her??? Sounds like this could be another lengthy case but doubt that it will draw all the attention that Casey's case has drawn...

Bond Lowered For One of 5 Suspects in Putnam Co. Drug Sting

The bond for one of the five suspects arrested as a result of a month-long drug sting operation in Putnam County has been lowered.
Hank Thomas “Tommy” Croslin, who was arrested along with Ronald Cummings, Misty Croslin, Donna Brock and Hope Sykes January 20, 2010 was originally being held on $100,000 bond on charges of trafficking in controlled prescription medications. Regardless of the bond amount being lowered, sources tell The SKY Croslin has apparently violated the terms of his previous bond(s) in Putnam County and will have a difficult chance, if any, of being released from jail
The arrests stemmed from a tip from a source with knowledge of the alleged dealing of oxycodone and hydrocodone, according to Putnam County Sheriff’s officials.

Which is it???????? Originally said No Bond due to other pending charges. Then it seems they lowered the bond to Just over $7,500. Doesn't sound to me like they have other pending charges, but are dropping charges. This does not make any sense to me.

Re: Ronald Cummings, Misty Croslin and Hank Croslin Arrested On Drug Trafficking Charges
I am a little confused on this sitemama. Misty's bond for all charges adds up to $950,000, but her bond amount is only listed as $150,000. Tommy's bond for all charges adds up to $7508, and his bond amount is listed as $7,508. If $0 means his bond was revoked, I don't know why they would list his bond amount as $7,508.

I think I have figured it out J4a. When Tommy's bond was 0.00, it just meant they had erased the $100,000.00 bond and had not yet entered the lesser amount. The news person just stated that his bond was revoked DUE to other pending charges. Afterwards, they entered the $7,508 bond.
As far as Misty's bond being listed as $150,000.00, we have to remember we have humans keying in this info, and I think that is just a typo. I hope they haven't lowered hers to $150,000.00, unless she has finally told them something regarding the disappearance of HaLeigh. But I don't really see that happening.

You might be right sitemama. I really doubt that Misty's bond was lowered to $150,000.

Update: Ronald And Misty Plead Not Guilty
By Adam Kirk - Morning News Producer
February 18, 2010 6:52 AM
Ronald Cummings and his ex-wife Misty Croslin pleaded not guilty to drug trafficking charges.
Police think Misty is withholding critical information that could solve the year-old disappearance of Haleigh Cummings. In taped jail-house conversations between Misty and her father released Wednesday, Misty again said she wants to get out of prison.
"All I want to do is get out of this place" said Croslin, "I'll never come back, I mean, for real... I'll never do anything to get in trouble ever again".
Misty was the last person to see the six year old before she went missing from Ronald's Satsuma home. In a separate conversation between Misty's father and her brother Hank Croslin, her father said he's not completely sure his daughter does not have information that could help investigators find Haleigh.
"I mean, I don't know if she knows anything or not" said her father. Hank Croslin then interjected "tell her to go ahead and tell the truth and not be making up stories".
Misty appeared in court Thursday for her arraignment. Ronald was not in court. His attorney filed a not guilty plea on his behalf.
Both are due back in court March 31st.

PALATKA — A cousin of missing Haleigh Cummings' father will be sentenced in late April after pleading no contest to a drug trafficking charge in Putnam County this morning.
Hope Sykes made the plea in court hearings that also set new trial dates for Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, and former stepmother, Misty Croslin.
Sykes, 19, could face 15 years in prison, although her age may provide some leeway in the sentencing. The prosecutor in her case said she has not made any arrangements for Sykes to testify in the cases involving Cummings or Croslin, who each face multiple trafficking charges.
Sykes is scheduled to be sentenced April 27.
All three were captured on surveillence cameras in an undercover drug operation. Sykes' charge is connceted to one of the recordings. She was in an undercover officer's car with Cummings and Croslin.
Cummings, 25, whose daughter was reported missing on Feb. 10, 2009, from home in Satsuma by Croslin, is set for a second pre-trial hearing May 13. Crosilin, 18, has her next pre-trial hearing is June 3 in Palatka.
Croslin's brother, Hank Croslin Jr., is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. pre-trial today in the Putnam court.

PALATKA - Ronald Cummings, the father of missing Putnam County girl Haleigh Cummings, is set to stand trial on drug-trafficking charges on July 19, but his lawyer said Cummings will likely agree to a plea deal before then.
Ronald Cummings Speaking after a hearing before Circuit Judge Terry LaRue in Palatka on Thursday morning, attorney Terry Shoemaker said Cummings, 26, will likely agree to plead to three of five charges.
Each of those three charges carries a minimum mandatory prison sentence of 15 years. A judge could order them to be served concurrently for a total of 15 years in prison.
The other two charges - involving trafficking in larger amounts of prescription drugs - carry a minimum sentence of 25 years. Shoemaker said the tentative deal in the works involves dropping the two more severe charges.
The plea deal might be completed by July 1, he said. Cummings would agree to testify against his co-defendants and would be sentenced after those cases went to trial.
"Everyone in the world has seen the [undercover] videos," Shoemaker said. "It's kind of hard. It's a great case for the state."
Cummings is "hanging in there," Shoemaker said. "He wishes he could do better, but you work with the hand that you're dealt."
Among the four co-defendants are his ex-wife Misty Croslin, the last person known to have seen 5-year-old Haleigh in February 2009; his cousin Hope Sykes; Croslin's brother Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr.; and Misty Croslin's friend Donna Brock. Sykes was sentenced to 15 years in prison last month for one count of trafficking in prescription drugs. Tommy Croslin appeared in another court hearing in Palatka on Thursday afternoon .

AJ...I think he was referring to the Anthony case...You can contact Thom and he will return your e-mail...If you will notice...most, if not all, of his articles are" drug addiction" related...He has had a hard go of it and he will admit that he is STILL a recovering addict despite the fact that he has been clean for a long time...Once an addict, always an addict, albeit a recovering one...

I think what happened is:
Tommy pled no contest. Under sentencing guidelines, he faces a minimum of three years in prison. The judge could up that to 44 months, or sentence him to as much as 30 years. A ssentencing hearing will be scheduled for sometime after July 6.
I don't see anything to indicate that Misty pled no contest and I do see that she was told her cases will go to trial Aug. 23. Her last chance to make a plea will be Aug. 16.
Is that about the jist of things?

At the pretrial hearing, Hank Croslin pleaded no contest to one count of possession, a third degree felony; and one count of trafficking in hydrocodone, a first degree felony.
His next court date is July 6. His sentencing date has not been set.

So I guess he still has the burglary/theft/guncharges pending? kh
