Here's a short list of victim's right, which would be Travis's next of kin: The right to attend criminal justice proceedings;
The right to apply for compensation;
The right to be heard and participate in criminal justice proceedings;
The right to be informed of proceedings and events in the criminal justice process, of legal rights and remedies, and of available services;
The right to protection from intimidation and harassment;
The right to restitution from the offender;
The right to prompt return of personal property seized as evidence;
The right to a speedy trial; and
The right to enforcement of these rights.

Excellent, Bmore. Thank you~

I was reading on FB and someone asked for someone to ask KN for his autograph so he won't be so butthurt and we can move past this... Considering that's what started this entire thing it might be worth a try... lol

Supposedly...AZ has something called "victim's rights" that allows victims (i.e., family members) to be in the room during closed hearings.

Now...how does that relate to this trial: Juror #5??

I'm just going to assume that they are proceeding with an abundance of caution....maybe even an overabundance of caution! Perhaps re-interviewing the 18 jurors. Each attorney gets to weigh in. Folks, we are talking about Nurmi and Wilmott here!!!

Disqualifying a juror or declaring a mistrial is monumental, and would (imo) only happen if every single avenue of discovery, investigation, legal wrangling, case law were scrutinized.

But then again, I could be wrong!

Wait!!!

Could they be looking for some sort of finalization - therefore family members (victims) are allowed in the closed hearing?

Could they be comtemplating a plea deal?

I think the only reason this morning's session is closed is because the comments the motion refers to from last Thursday were sealed and therefore they would not be able to debate anything in open court.

IMO, JA will never plea to anything more than 2nd degree and Juan politely declined Very Happy

I don't think at this point that would ever happen. Jodi has nothing to lose and she's so close to the end. She surely would be convicted of murder one. If it were death, well she's said she'd rather that than spend the rest of her life in prison. If it were death, than so much the better for all of us. If LWOP, than it's done and she's in for a terrible life anyway.
I simply can't believe that Juan would come this far, be almost at the conclusion of the trial and than accept a murder two plea!

For all of those speculating a plea agreement, HLN did just make a good point - the judge would not be involved in the negotiations of the agreement. The only reason the judge would be involved is if an agreement had already been agreed upon between the prosecution and the defense and the family would already be well aware of the possible plea as the state must notify the family first, listen to their wishes, and then make a decision. The state takes the family wishes into account, however they do not have to make the decision based on the what the family wants. I do not believe that JM would push a plea agreement if TA's family was against it after all they have been through and he seems to be they type that would not go back on his word to the family to prosecute.

It could just be a long proceeding in there. And since we now know the next of kin has ALWAYS had a right to these things, its no surprise they are in there.

On HLN, they're saying that a judge makes no decision in a plea deal...but in AZ, before a plea deal is finalized, it has to be presented to the victims (although the attorneys don't have to go by what the victims may say).

JA looking haughty.
She eyeballs the jury and then stares at Travis' family.
Turns back to her table.
Appears smug.

Camera to Travis' family:
Sam is crying and looking distraught;
Tanisha is wiping eyes.

Jodi smiling? Big deal. Dismissing juror 5 is nothing---will not benefit her in any way. Maybe she's just getting off on the misery of T's family. Sick b-----. Gee, I hope she gets death.

No, just excused... all we know is she said something bias infront of the other jurors and it could of swayed their thinking... don't know if it was a blanket statement or detailed, on purpose or off the cuff... We won't know until she talks...

JA went after Travis' family for the blue ribbons;
JA went after Juan for the media pics;
JA is now taking down the jury...

I expect JA will try another juror and then try bias on the judge. Just guessing. Hope I am wrong.

FB is thinking that JA wrote these emails to the Hughe's not TA... I said that last week if she went into his accout and set up a rule to send their emails to her account and TA wouldn't know unless he was expecting an email from them but maybe they had work and personal emails... dunno.... hmmmm if it was her she'd have to hid it from TA
