A Court $cam and Why I’m As Mad as Hell

...Now I’m no lawyer, so let me try to understand this. A court bars the media from airing daily footage of a trial the public has a constitutionally guaranteed right to witness, then turns around and sells its own footage for nearly two grand?

Movie theaters preventing you from bringing in refreshments so it can sell you an $8 box of Goobers ain’t got nothing on these guys.

It is repugnant.

However, the distaste over the prodigious fee has nothing to do with the fact its the Arias trial. The trial was distasteful enough. No, the issue is the vile cash grab that slaps the face of every taxpayer in Maricopa County. They’ve already ponied up more than three million bucks for this spectacle.

The court is profiteering from a murder trial. Plain and simple.

PHOENIX (CBS5) - Sentiments of remorse came out of secret testimony released Thursday in the Jodi Arias sentencing retrial. Her attorneys wanted it sealed off from the public, but a court ruling overturned that.

Arias wanted to testify behind closed doors because she said she was getting death threats and wouldn't be able to answer question in a manner "she truly means."

I remember Nurmi drilling in and accusing Travis of being a pedophile.
Said the father of a young girl was upset because Travis had WRONGLY sent his young dau (not son) an email asking to join the company Travis worked for. On the stand, the father stated it was an ERROR. (The computer server sent out routine requests/ads asking people to join up.)Father stated the matter was resolved. However, Nurmi got his jollies by insisting Travis was coming on to this child despite there being NO evidence Travis ever communicated outside the ad she had received.

Contrast that to JA ACTIVELY and CONTINUALLY attempting communication with several 15 year old girls! JA who insisted Travis was a pedophile is now doing what?

Sheriff Joe Arpaio announced the sanctions on 03/12/15. The sanctions are for 42 days and Hodi only has 32 days left at his jail before her sentencing. Hopefully, that means that JA will get NOTHING extra for the duration of her stay at Estrella jail.

JA stated here Travis was the one to introduce her to the Mormon faith.
Did she forget all that testimony of the missionaries visiting the home she and Daryl lived in? That was a good 6 months BEFORE she had even met Travis.

^^^to the above bolded^^^ I would be really creeped-out, a little bit scared, and kind of angry if I had been long-distance dating a guy and then he moved to my state, within minutes of my home, directly following a break-up. I can't imagine that Travis was happy about it. Hmm...maybe JA secretly meant that she was uncomfortable with how fast the relationship was not moving. So, naturally, JA moved her very intrusive self to Mesa to force the relationship along. Yeah, if you look at it like this then her action does make sense, IMO.

I had read (a long time back) Travis was NOT happy sponsoring JA in her baptism. He did NOT want to be a part of that rite for her. The Calif ward she was living in discussed with Travis the need for Travis to sponsor JA as SHE had requested it.... despite the Calif missionaries being the ones who gave instruction to her. The California ward pressured Travis as JA had personally requested him!

I do not believe Travis engaged in sex that frequently with Ja. He had already been sanctioned for having premarital sex with Deanna. I just don't see him doing that with any great frequency. And it WAS Travis who first said HE had been to see the bishop in AZ for the sex he had with JA.

The pics: I am troubled by these. The "nudes" of JA? She could have easily taken those using a remote device. I wonder if she could have taken them on her camera and uploaded to his camera? I don't have enough knowledge re that. As another poster mentioned, and I would agree, what guy would willingly take or have taken a picture of himself butt naked AND flaccid? IF guys take nude pics of themselves it is WITH a full blown erection... not all sleepy and limp.

The pic of the penis: That is NOT Travis. Size, shape, coloration are all wrong. Then the hand/fingers... those are NOT of Travis. Whose are they? I am guessing they belong to Daryl. Pity HE was never asked re the pics!

I agree with all that you have written. Travis was trying to get himself back on track with his Mormon faith. There is just no way that TA would allow himself to star in a porn vid, be photographed naked, or be recorded having phone sex. Travis was a smart guy and surely he was aware that engaging in such activities could and most likely would come back to haunt him and cause him to lose standing in his church. It was all Jodi trying to be the naughty girl that she thought he wanted. I do, however, think that the "nudes" originated on Travis camera and there was no transfer or anything like that. Jodi probably wanted to take nudes thinking that it might be an exciting new experience for him that could suck him back into her web. Travis probably agreed to do it on the condition that it was on his camera and he, not Jodi, would be in control of the images. Travis probably figured, oh, what the heck, I'll just delete them later. Well, if so, he never got the chance.

A prominent JAII member, Ben Ernst will now no longer be able to collect the artwork money; he had been the only willing USA-based proxy in the pyramid funnel that leads to SJ & Pandora Paik in Europe.

That responsibility will now be handed down to either Steve C. Joyner or Edd Stack (Stachowiak). (See the letter posted above.) "....PHOENIX (AP) — Convicted murderer Jodi Arias will have to go without phone calls and video chats in jail for now unless they have to do with legal matters, the Maricopa County sheriff said Thursday.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio said that Arias violated several rules, and the jail will enforce disciplinary restrictions for six weeks. According to Arpaio, there was evidence that Arias was trying to avoid having conversations monitored by using other inmates to make phone calls for her. She also is accused of speaking with minors through the jail's video visitation system.

"Arias needs to understand that while she is in my jail, she is to obey all the rules and breaking them has consequences," Arpaio said in a news release.

Other suspended privileges include being able to order commissary items. According to the sheriff, Arias sometimes spend around $100 in a week on candy and other food items. But for now, she will have to stick to the two vegetarian meals served daily by the jail.

Earlier in the week, Arpaio also banned 10 of Arias' visitors, including two 15-year-olds. All of them were found to have violated rules for visits, Arpaio said. Some used cellphones to take photos, and others used false names to gain access to Arias. ...."

Hai everyone! Since it's the weekend, I dug up a new game for the whole family! It's a take on the old Classic "Candy Land"!

Now there are only a couple of rules;

First, you must play with real cash, cause Simon Hall (Johansson) of the JAII site, doesn't take play money. He takes the real stuff, all he can get his greedy paws on.

Second, you must employ suspension of disbelief. After all, this is Jodi Land, and you have to read and swallow a whole lot of foolishness!

So, start on the square that says START. (if you are a Hodi-ite, we know we have to slow down for you so take your time and find the word on the board that matches those letters)

...Juan Martinez, Detective Flores and their superior were nothing less than honorable and magnificent in their efforts to demand justice for Travis Alexander. His voice was in the courtroom and the echo of his voice lived in the deliberation room. I am proud to have met you as are thousands upon thousands of people around the world. I meant to tell Juan Martinez about the folks in Australia who send their support. In a light-hearted way, I consider Juan Martinez the T-Dogg of another great and eloquent man, David Bodney. You are champions to justice and I will never forget Mr. Bodney’s argument to the Appellate Court: that the rights of a convicted murderer do not supersede the rights of the public and the media.

Arias will soon be locked away in Perryville prison. It is a magnificently cold and unfriendly prison. It is for the worst of the worst. She will fade in time, the less we use her name. Maybe, her experience as a waitress in a little French restaurant will come in handy when she applies for a job in the prison dining room. They might like her little French words after she cleans up the slop in the mess hall. The pennies she earns will go to the family of Travis Alexander. Her non-allocuting, cowardly self can disappear into the walls of a caged menagerie.

I want only one lesson to be taken from this day. I want you to think about the spirit of Travis Alexander and how he lives within each of you. Think of the countless numbers of friends you have made through your discovery of Travis Alexander. Reach out to a friend you met through the knowing of Travis and he will smile each time as he looks down. He wants us to continue these relationships. He would want us to learn the lessons we have learned in this trial so that the same mistakes are not made to another family. The manifestation of the spirit of Travis Alexander stays alive as long as we continue to look for justice. The more we contribute to conversation, the more we can impact change in the little things that need to be changed.
