Re: Kyron Horman -- Missing 6/4/10 #1
Here is an enlarged version of the picture that LE had his glasses removed. You can see the little girl in the flowered dress behind him. And also there is more proof the picture wasn't photoshopped because of his hair, the whisps against the green paper. In the regular size picture there is a man with the little girl, assuming it's her father or whoever. I would hope by now they have identified her and the man. If they were there the morning of June 4th, Kyron and Terri were there the morning of June 4th.

Good question!
Kyron Horman case update: Why aren’t officials warning parents to watch their children?
Posted by Leila Jones on June 21, 2010

The search for Kyron Horman continues and one there is one thing that is odd throughout the case. Officials have never warned parents to watch their children. When Somer Thompson vanished on the way home from school it was apparent that she had been abducted. Parents were on the lookout, children walked to school in groups and many were in fear that a predator was on the loose. Officials had confirmed reports of attempted kidnappings in the weeks before Somer’s abduction, those reports kept even more parents on edge.
Somer Thompson was brutally murdered and a suspect is in custody, awaiting charges of first degree murder. When Kyron Horman disappeared parents were scared but authorities did not warn them to be on the lookout for an abductor or warn them of suspicious activities. In fact, it was just the opposite. Officials told the community that they believed Kyron Horman’s disappearance was an isolated incident They did not believe that other children were in danger of being abducted, why?
Instead of being like the case of Somer Thompson, the Kyron Horman case bears a resemblance to the Haleigh Cummings case. Haleigh Cummings disappeared while under the care of her father’s girlfriend, Misty Croslin. Terri Horman was the last person to see Kyron walk towards his classroom and after that, he seemingly vanished into thin air. Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her home in Satsuma, Florida and was never seen again.
There were no suspects in the case, no Amber Alerts and no persons of interest identified. As with the Haleigh Cummings case, speculation quickly turned toward Misty Croslin; now speculation has shifted to Terri Horman. Authorities have not named any suspects or person of interest in the case; including Terri Horman.

Where is Kyron?
Horman among 591 children missing in Oregon

PORTLAND -- The disappearance of seven year-old Kyron Horman is attracting widespread publicity. But, there are many other missing children who don't draw the same headlines.
According to Oregon State Police, there are 591 missing children in the state. Washington reports 1,114 children are reported missing.
Investigators said that, in roughly 95-97% of the cases, the missing children were runaways. Two- to three-percent involved custody issues. But occasionally, there were a few cases like Kyron Horman where a child disappears due to unknown circumstances. The second grader was last seen inside Skyline School on June 4th.
Starr Lara said she understands the pain of not knowing. Her sister Jaime Grissim was last seen headed to Fort Vancouver High School in December of 1971. "You know it is just grief every day. It is very painful. And I think families can accept a lot of things but not knowing, that is really hard," she said.
Community response will always be an important factor, according to police. If neighbors pull together by printing posters and getting the word out, a case will likely receive a lot more attention and potentially more clues.

Blink has posted a "breaking down the fact vs fiction" piece:
From Blink notes: Pumala address is on Sauvie. In particular it is the start of the original start area for which MCSO requests video footage, and it has direct access to the channel, which has been a heavy search point.
Additionally folks– we have the investigative equivalent of “the closest distance between 2 points” here. Gram or “mom” Pumala is neighbor to Ky.
Non-custodial Dad, a former neighbor and presumed aquaintance, lives withing the perimeter of the focus of most of the search efforts, AND the alleged cell pings.
Non-custodial Dad being Tanner's father. He lives with his grandparents.

After reading Blink's "notes", I guess she's trying to say Terri may have been having an affair???? I'll have to read it again, not sure where's she headed with it.

Lottie and the Blink piece have made me feel so relieved that I wasn't the only one wondering about Tanner's story. He's your best friend, you share a desk, you heard the 'sub' say that he wasn't there and yet you didn't realise he wasn't there until you were on the bus?
There is something fishy with that story.
From the Blink piece it leads me to think that Tanner's family had something to do with it. Was Terri having an affair? Something that I'd considered earlier and still think is a possibility. But more than that, it made me think that Tanner's dad might be involved.
The affair possibility could explain the odd expressions that the Horman parents have in the presser. Kaine could be both upset over the loss of his child and that his wife is having an affair.
I have no idea at this point. But what I do know is that Kyron hasn't been found and I really hope he is soon.

I had also thought Terri might have been having an affair, but I didn't want to say because I'm already all over Terri. After reading blink's post, I'm wondering if Tanner's dad was involved with Terri...and if maybe Kyron caught them and was going to tell?
I'm still thinking Kyron never made it to school that day.

I will admit - grudgingly - that it did cross my mind when it has been speculated that Terri's pings don't match up w/ where she said she was that maybe she was in the Suavie Island area because she was having an affair - if she was, that doesn't necessarily make her a murderer - but would explain why she felt the need to lie... I hope that all the speculation about Tanners story not being true doesn't get out of hand - this is a little boy we're dealing with - and if he happens to be telling the truth - or his version of what appears to be the truth to him (accounting that he may be "off" on details since he is a child....) I think it could do some serious damage to him to be publicly scrutinized in this way - we don't need to have 2 victims here...

I hope Tanner's family shields him from all news and internet reports about the case. If Tanner's grandmother wanted his story out there, it probably would have been better for him if she had just shared Tanner's version of events without putting him in front of a camera and allowing him to be interviewed by the media.
Here is a video where Miriah Gaddis, sister of murder victim Miranda Gaddis, talks about how hard it was to be in the middle of a missing person's case as a ten-year-old child. She says she was in front of the media everyday and knew too many details about the investigation.

Re: Kyron Horman -- Missing 6/4/10 #1
Finster (Terri's friend) states that Terri has told her what Terri did that morning after dropping Kyron off at school. Finster also states Terri has told her that the rumor that Terri told Kyron’s teacher, Ms. Porter, that Kyron had a doctor’s appointment was true but that she told Ms. Porter that the day before Kyron disappeared. Terri allegedly told Finster that she had told Ms. Porter on Thursday June 3rd that Kyron was going to have a doctor’s appointment on June 11th. Finster gives further insight into what Terri is stating concerning when Kyron did not get off the bus that evening.
Finster said that when Kyron didn’t show up at the bus the afternoon of June 4, Horman talked to the teacher who said she thought that Horman had taken Kyron to the doctor that day. Horman told Finster that the child’s teacher was new, in her first year of teaching, and was hard of hearing in one ear. “She doesn’t know if she understood her,” Finster said.
http://www.thehinkymeter.com/2010/06/19/kyron-horman-stepmother-under-intense-questioning/
Now the teacher can't hear well, and is new, so she might have not heard Terri right when she told her Kyron was going to the doctor a week later....
OK, sorry in advance, but Terri's weird actions keep mounting up for me. I can still remember when my kids were in school....if they had a doctor's apt I sure didn't let the teacher know a week ahead of time. Why would you?
Could Terri be so diabolical that, knowing Kyron's teacher was hard of hearing, know she could tell the teacher June 4...and have the teacher not worry about him not being there after the Science Fair....and then claim she said the 11th?

Lottie, no need to apologize for your thoughts or opinion in advance!
My thoughts on the June 11th appointment and paperwork given to the teacher could have been because the doctor wanted his teacher's input. Maybe Kyron was going to be tested for ADD, or it could have been an eye doctor appointment. Maybe he was having some issues in class with certain things. Maybe he was already being treated and the doctor requested follow up from the teacher on progress...I don't know. I'm just speculating.

I just heard on the news that....
Kyron's teacher and another staff member saw both Kyron and Terri at the school that morning. (Why, then did his teacher mark him absent?)
The parents and other visitors to the Science Fair had to leave by 8:45AM...the kids could keep on looking until 10AM.

Kyron Horman case update: Should all schools install security cameras?

Kyron Horman case update: Should all schools install security cameras?
As the search for missing Portland, Oregon boy, Kyron Horman continues many ask why the school did not have security cameras installed. With the knowledge that those cameras could have provided vital clues in the case, many across the nation are calling for security cameras to be installed in every school.
What do you think? Do you think school security cameras are a necessity or a luxury? Should all schools have security cameras installed?
Last week, John Walsh spoke about the Kyron Horman case and said that he believed mistakes had been made. One of the mistakes he spoke about was the fact that Kyron Horman’s family failed to speak to the media. Some in the community also found fault with the school and lack of security in the school itself. Kyron’s teacher failed to notify his family that he was absent, and though there was a school function on June 4, 2010, the school did not adequately supervise the students as they returned to their classes.
If Kyron Horman was abducted by a stranger there is an excellent chance that the abduction would have been caught on surveillance. It is also possible that security cameras would have helped deter an abduction.
What do you think about security cameras and the Kyron Horman case?

Investigators in Kyron Horman disappearance say they're not ignoring tips
Updated: Wednesday, June 23, 2010, 8:47 PM
Kate Mather, The Oregonian
In the three weeks since Kyron Horman disappeared from his grade school, investigators have remained tight-lipped about their work except for one thing: They have repeatedly asked the public to call in tips and replay the day in their heads to jog any memories that may help find the 7-year-old.
But after initially publicizing that they had 1,200 tips, investigators now will confirm only that the calls continue to come in steadily and that they're looking into them.
Some people are confused why they haven't heard back from sheriff's officials right away and others say they haven't heard back at all.
Capt. Jason Gates said Wednesday that Kyron's disappearance is the biggest investigation Multnomah County has ever handled and they're working through the tips, but are focused on leads close-to-home and aren't always calling back people with duplicate information.
"We have detectives going through each and every tip that goes in," Gates said. "Quite frankly, some of those tips are worthless, but it's a process of what are viable to follow up on and what aren't."
Kyron vanished June 4 after he went to school early to see his project at Skyline School's science fair with his stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman. She last saw him heading toward his classroom. The ensuing search concentrated on an area immediately around the school and Sauvie Island. Sheriff's officials also last week released a flier asking people to report any sightings of the boy, his stepmother or the white pickup she was driving that day.
Edward Weber thought he saw Kyron 10 days later while eating lunch in Keizer, about 45 miles south of Portland. He took pictures of the boy he saw and the license plate number of the car that drove away from the restaurant.
Weber called the tip line, but said he didn't hear back from an investigator for two days.
"It's surprising to me that, due to the nature of the emergency, that they would treat any tip that way, whether it's a real good one or not so good," Weber said. "It makes people like us say, 'Well, what's the use if it takes two days to answer?'"
Although people might think investigators haven't addressed their tips, that's not the case, Gates said. Because of the high number of calls coming in, detectives must set priorities for each bit of information they receive, he said.
Tips have come in "all across the gamut," he said. People have phoned in alleged sightings of Kyron from across the country and psychics also have offered their advice to investigators.
Mary Jean Kelso of Fernley, Nev., saw a boy she thought might be Kyron at the small town's Wal-Mart on June 13. She called the tip line that evening, but said she has yet to hear back from investigators.
"I expected to hear something that night or at the latest that Monday. I thought maybe they didn't man it on the weekends," Kelso said. "But when it's a child missing, it should be a 24-hour situation. It should be a live human being. If they're not going to answer it, at least call you back."
Gates said people shouldn't worry if they don't hear back from investigators. Sometimes people have already reported the same information and investigators have checked it out, he said.
"It's nothing personal, it's just that we need to concentrate our efforts on fresh information," he said.
Although Gates wouldn't comment on exactly how investigators are setting their priorities, he did say each tip is filed in a computer program. The program transcribes the tips and catalogues them in a database that detectives can search when pursuing various aspects of the investigation.
"It's a challenge, there's no doubt about it," Gates said. "But we still have our major crimes team, plus outside detectives and FBI agents that are all helping us with this. So even though it's a challenge to keep up with the tips, we are managing them because of the extra help we're getting."
FBI spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele said the bureau is supplying extra investigators who have experience with missing children, technological support and other resources.
But detectives still need help from the public, Gates said -- not only in continuing to keep an eye out for anything related to Kyron's disappearance, but also in understanding why officials haven't released many details about the investigation.
"If we released everything that we knew, we'd get all kinds of people that call in with all kinds of theories. What we want is when we get tips to get fresh information. If we get a call with details that haven't gone out, we know that person is a credible witness," Gates said. "That's integral to the case and that's going to help us solve it. When we release tidbits of information to the public, it's definitely in order to help us solve this case.
"Until we solve this case, the public does not have a right to know the details. Once we solve the case, they have every right to."

Re: Kyron Horman -- Missing 6/4/10 #1
You know, that is what is scary about these small towns that are not prepared for a search or investigation of a missing child. If they have no experience in dealing with something on this scale, it's alarming that so many leads could be missed. I'm sure the calls are overwhelming and in those flurry of calls that very most important tip or sighting could be the very one that could find a child. And after so many days, the child could be gone forever. I realize they have the FBI and special task forces now, but how quickly did they come on the scene. This wasn't considered criminal right away. And no Amber Alert.

I think the school should hold responsibility for their lack of security in Kyron's disappearance from school property. I've never heard of not calling the parents if a child isn't at school, especially if the parent did not inform the school he would be absent. He was there, people saw him......then mark him absent, no questions asked. Many mistakes were made. I can only hope Kyron will be found safe and can come home.

I saw that picture on a news site yesterday. I assume that is one of Terri's first pictures of Kyron's project. Then the next picture you see the man and the little girl behind Kyron. Is this the same man before they moved over to the next exhibit, but you just can't see the little girl in the flowered dress?

Re: Kyron Horman -- Missing 6/4/10 #1
I just wonder why the teacher wouldn't at least question where Kyron was when she saw him earlier w/ his mother before marking him absent?? and then Tanner bringing it to her attn that he was missing as well??? I think I would have some serious questions for that teacher - and I sure as heck would pitch a fit if my kid was chosen to be in her class next yr - it seems that because of her apathetic attitude and subsequent actions (or rather, lack thereof) that Kyron's abductor (whomever it may be) easily got a 7 hr headstart on LE - which in a missing child's case - is an eternity, and I know I've read that most children are killed in the first 3 hrs... There is a very good piece on "what if" scenario's on Morgan Harrington's thread that could be applied to every missing person's case...
What if the teacher had asked questions about where Kyron was?
What if the school had called Kyron's mother?
What if the school had video surveillance?
and the list could go on and on and on - if just one person had stopped and said, hey, you know, something's not right here - Kyron might have been found within a matter of hrs rather than possibly never...

Yes, Tish.........those very important "what if" questions, there would most likely be a completely different outcome here.

Kyron Horman Update: Details emerge about Kyron’s uncle charged in child molestation case
June 23, 2:27 PM
Seattle Headlines Examiner
Isabelle Zehnder
Kristian Scott Horman
June 23, 2010 - Kyron Horman, the 7-year-old Portland boy who went missing from Skyline Elementary School June 4, has caught national attention. On June 16 his uncle from Seattle was arrested on charges of 3rd degree child molestation. There has been question as to whether the uncle’s arrest and Kyron’s case are in any way related.
Details about the molestation
Kyron’s uncle, Kristian Scott Horman, 32, was initially arraigned in March 2009 for alleged child molestation in 2008. It has been reported the abused child was Kristian’s teen niece.
However, during a phone interview Monday with Snohomish County Prosecutor, Hal Hupp, he said, “The child was not Kristian’s niece. There was no biological relation to Kristian.”
Hupp continued, “They were in the same house, in the same bed when it happened."
"There were two underage children in the bed at the time the molestation took place," he said. "The second child was uninvolved.”
According to Snohomish County Superior Court records Kristian was living with his girlfriend at the time of the molestation. Also living in the home were his girlfriend’s mother and his 1-year-old son. They lived in Bothell, Washington.
On October 24, 2008, the daughter of Kristian Horman’s ex-wife stayed at his house while his girlfriend was out of town. The girl was 15 at the time.
According to court records, Kristian invited her to sleep in his bed. He "massaged her back" and then began "rubbing her crotch."
The girl knew what Kristian was doing was wrong, left the bed, and called her mother.
Kristian apologized at the time. He first told police he was asleep and couldn’t remember what happened, but finally confessed. Court records indicate he was trying to arouse and initiate relations with the 15-year-old.
When asked what he was thinking, Kristian told police he was himself abused as a child by his own grandfather. Court records say he was thinking about all of the things his grandfather had done to him and remembering how he felt during the time.
Cases related?
According to Snohomish County Prosecutor Hal Hupp, the cases are not related and Kristian’s recent jail sentence had nothing to do with Kyron.
“The child molestation case occurred two years ago and the uncle was just found guilty and jailed on June 16,” Hupp said. “Kyron was not the molested child in that case.”
When asked if Kristian Horman’s child molestation conviction in Seattle, Wash., was part of the investigation in Kyron’s case in Portland, Multnomah County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman, Lt. Mary Lindstand, said, “Yes, I can say that it is part of the investigation.”
Clearing up misconceptions
There have been rumors that the “arrest” of the uncle came so close to the date Kyron went missing, that people believe his arrest was somehow connected to Kyron’s disappearance.
Hupp pointed out that Kristian was not arrested. Kristian’s child molestation trial was scheduled months ago for June 16. He said, “There’s a misconception that Kristian was arrested in 2009. He was not arrested, he was charged.”
“There has to be probable cause to make an arrest. In sex offense cases, as in other criminal cases, an investigation has to take place,” he said. “The prosecutor’s office has to follow-up with police, a court date has to be set. If the person is arrested they are typically released on bail and they are then out of custody.”
“If police make an immediate arrest they only have 72 hours to make a determination for charging the accused,” Hupp said.
The case was heard that day. Snohomish County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman, Rebecca Hover, told Examiner.com Monday, “In February 2009 the judge ordered parole with conditions in Kristian’s molestation case.”
“The bench trial took place on June 16,” she said, “Which is when the judge found Kristian guilty of 3rd degree child molestation and he began serving his sentence that day. He’ll be in jail less than a year.”
Asked if Snohomish County Sheriff’s office is involved in Kyron’s case, Hover said, “We are sharing information about our case with investigators in Kyron’s case."
According to news reports, Kristian was sentenced to six months in Snohomish County Jail.
The process
"The process takes time," Hupp says. "It is vital that a thorough investigation take place to ensure the best outcome in these cases. It can take up to a year or more to gather all of the evidence, wait for DNA results, do interviews, and so on."
There are a myriad of things that can delay the process such as waiting for lab results and waiting for reports from experts, he said.
Once a trial date is set, and if the person is found to be guilty, they are sentenced and begin their jail or prison time.
“It’s important to remember that a person is innocent until proven guilty,” Hupp said. “It’s also important to remember that when children are involved, as in this case, the children are protected during the process.”
When asked if Kristian Horman has been required to register as a sex offender, Hupp said, “No, not yet. He will be required to register when he is released.”
According to court records, Kristian Horman was initially scheduled for arraignment March 6, 2009, when he would hear the allegations against him.
A trial date set for May 15, 2009, was continued. On February 9, 2009, a “no contact order” was issued to Kristian.
Trial was once again continued to September 25, 2009, then again to January 29, 2010.
On April 21, 2010, the trial date was once again changed to June 16, 2010.
The court heard the case June 16, 2010, when Kristian was found guilty of 3rd degree child molestation. He was read his rights and began serving his sentence that day.
Kristian is now a felon and as such was ordered to surrender his weapon on June 17, 2010. Drug and HIV tests were ordered.
Kristian is now in jail serving out his six-month sentence.

Re: Kyron Horman -- Missing 6/4/10 #1
I also heard on the news that Skyline had 4 or 5 doors (can't recall which) that led outside, but only 2 doors were unlocked.
That doesn't mean much since all the doors could be opened from the inside.
My problem with Kyron being taken out of the school unnoticed isn't that no one saw him so much as it's Why would Kyron go?
He would have had to go willingly or surely he'd have made a scene and then someone would most likely have noticed. I can't discount the possibility that someone pretending to be a chaperon might have gotten Kyron to go with them. Other than that sort of thing, it had to have been someone Kyron knew and trusted.
But the biggest problem of all is why his teacher marked him absent if she saw him there that morning. Did she forget she had seen him when she took roll later? And then only remember after the fact? Or was it just the power of suggestion that made her 'think' she'd seen him earlier? Or did she really think it was Doctor's appt day?
This case is fraught with too many coincidences in opportunity....for example, the teacher marking him absent was sheer luck for the abductor (too much luck?). Also, Terri telling a hard of hearing teacher about a Friday doctor's appointment for Kyron the day before the wrong Friday- which may have allowed the teacher to assume Terri had taken him to the doctor that day after she'd seen him there with Terri.(too much luck?)
Just those two things made it easy for the abductor to get more than an hour's headstart. If not for those two things, the abductor would only have thought he/she had an hour at best before someone might start looking for Kyron.
That's a very small window..the hour, but certainly enough time to get Kyron out of the immediate area.
HOWEVER, the perp didn't know he/she wasn't seen leaving with Kyron. The perp didn't know someone hadn't seen the vehicle they took off in. The perp didn't know Kryon wasn't going to be noticed missing after just an hour and an amber alert made for his/her vehicle. There were simply too many people around that morning for someone to take a chance like that without having a great excuse for it made up in advance in case someone saw them and wanted to know what was going on. The perp had to have a lie at the ready and it had to be something viable.
Also, if Kyron being marked absent hadn't played into his/her favor, and he/she'd been caught with Kyron early on off the school grounds, what excuse might the perp have made for having Kyron?
All this makes me think Kyron was well hidden before 10AM when he should have been noticed missing...because the perp shouldn't have known the teacher might mix up the Friday doctor appointment date that most likely contributed to her marking him absent...
....but then again, was it the teacher who said she mixed those days up? Or was it Terri who suggested the teacher may have heard her wrong?
I can't recall any cases where a child was abducted from inside a school....anyone know of any?

Piper, that's very interesting about Kyron's uncle. I'd not seen the details of it before, just the cliff notes.
This man definitely needs to account for his whereabouts on June 4! But since he's into girls, I'm not sure he'd molest a little boy...then again, he says he was molested by his grandfather, so who knows.
My gut reaction though, is that he didn't take Kryon. I wonder if Kyron even knows him or would recognize him if he saw him enough to go off with him from school.

Lottie, I agree with you on the uncle. There were so many stories of him being a child molester, that article clarifies what he did. Disgusting, to say the least. It makes me wonder if the grandfather is still alive to be able to defend himself.

I've never heard of a child being abducted from inside a school. You make some great points, Lottie. The perp had no idea how much time they had and as we all know child molesters always look for the moment of opportunity to act. It makes me think something happened to Kyron inside the school. If the school has been gone over with a fine tooth comb and he's not there, I would think Kyron was taken out in a duffle bag, container, a box...could have been anything. As far as him going with someone, he's in his school environment and kids are taught to follow the rules and obey the adults. Child molesters know how to work a child's mind and gain their trust fairly quickly.
I hope none of that has happened and Kyron is okay and that he will be found soon. LE sure isn't letting any information out.

You know something that bothers me....that cool electrical exhibit Kyron told Tanner he was going to see.
Have they found out whose exhibit that was? Or if there was one at all? Maybe someone lured him away by claiming to want to show this cool exhibit to him.

Re: Kyron Horman -- Missing 6/4/10 #1
I don't believe for a second that his uncle has the heart to molest other children but not his own nephew... I would definitely be wanting to know his whereabouts on that day - what his relationship is with Kyron - we know he lived close anyway, so it's possible that he had frequent contact w/ Kyron - and he might have been getting desperate knowing that he might be locked up for a while - that would give him motive. Also, maybe he had been molesting Kyron and Kyron was going to tell, or he was afraid that he would tell...

Kyron Horman's family releases videos, photos showing boy before disappearance
Updated: Thursday, June 24, 2010, 3:40 PM
Kate Mather, The Oregonian
Three home movies and 200 new photos of missing Portland second-grader Kyron Horman were released today, nearly three weeks after the boy was last seen.
The videos show the 7-year-old singing at a school performance and giving a report on bridges.
Kyron was last seen June 4 at Skyline School in rural northwest Multnomah County after attending a school science fair with his stepmother.
His disappearance resulted in one of the largest search and rescue efforts in the state and is now considered a criminal investigation.
Officials have asked anyone with information regarding Kyron to call the tip line at 503-261-2847.

Lottie,
I am glad you are now aware that LE haveput 2 teacher sitings in their timeline...
Tish,
you mentioned phone pings from Terri's cell and I am wondering if you are thinking that this is true.. I read that early on ppl (bloggers) were speculating (the day that searchers were at the island) that LE may have had phone records that shpwed she pinged from there.. Have you read that LE have confirmed this?
Piper,
thanks for posting the interview with Tanner..
I cant believe that ppl are actually saying that Tanner is lying for his father????????WTH... It is B.S that anyone can connect the dad to Terri, just because they checked that island area where many ppl created the rumour that pings were found there....
If Terri had lied, I cant believe that her husband wud be standing by her...Not for one minute..In fact I get the idea that everything she has told LE has likely panned out to the tee... including a Dr's apptment on Jun 11...
I can absolutley see that when the sub/chaperone said that Kyron was gone.. she wud not have said that if he hadnt been there... On account that we heard that Ms Porter schmoozed her by saying he was prolly getting a drink.. it doersnt make sens that she wud not have said that he had never been there to start with ...
Also, I wonder if it was after lunch where Ms Porter marked him absent... It wud be very plausible for her to take attendance where Kyron was still gone... she wud have prolly made an (ireseponsible) deduction .. She prolly said in her head,.,,, Oh Kyron must be at the Dr appointment.. she prolly said to herself that Terri mentioned somethng about an appointemtn and so it must be today meaning fri Jun 4....
I can see that Ms Porter has lots of reason to say very little as it was likley her who marked him absent where we can see clear neglicence... I cud see she wud be guarded in her statements ....
Also, I personally doubt that the uncle is involved in this.. This pig, seems to be involved with females.
Lottie,
Regarding how he cud have been lured away is prolly easy..It was cud have been someone he knew but not necessarily... It cud have been someone posing as a teacher where they may have told him just about anything... At his age, and in a school, I doubt he wud be defiant especially at a school where kids trust adults whoever they are... They are always in a position at school of being told what to do without talking back..
Someone may have told him something crazy like I need to drive you home becasue your mother just phoned and needs you home... there cud have been many ways to have gotten him outside.. I suspect it was in the hallway where Tanner saw him walkiing towards where he was taken... A car may have been parked close..
The thing with these pigs that we know are arrogant enough to have gone in to ppls home and taken their kids suggests that when they become desperate enough, they take a chance and take their prey..This tells me this type of ped is willing to risk everything easily. When you think about it..look at the risk that Elizabeths captor took.. unbelievable that he walked into their home into her and sisters bedroom and even talked loud enough for sister to have heard it.. that s bold... look at Jessica's killer Cooey... these are arrogant pigs and look at what he did and look at the huge risk they had in getting caught... and to think he was arrogant enough to have opened the dor and had LE in his house 3 times while little Jessica was locked up alive in his closest.. If that isnt arrogant I dont know what is...It is unbelieveable that this type of abduction appears easier than one wud think.. We have to start looking at this and not allow any pig to walk away laughing while mom or dad get blamed...
We know that even in Somers case it was in broad daylight that this guy took her.. SHe was prolly screaming and he got her nayway.. any car cud have driven by or even ppl on the street.. They are desperate...
Unlike a person who wud plot to kill their stepson at such a risky place that he really shud have been caught.... So really I think there are too many examples we have seen where we see the risk these pigs actually take...
This is the exact reason that this type of crime seems more consistent with a desperate ped who took him, risking getting caught, than a parent who planned to try and create an alibi at a school where to many ppl wud have likley saw mom take him... Clearly this perp was very lucky and prolly didnt even know how lucky he was or how so many things worked in his favor... Kind of like Polly Klaas, everything went in to the favor of that pig.. LE were one step behind him for do long while she was still alive yet when they got to him ..Polly was already killed...
I also think it was horrid reading that clarification re: uncle pig, and what he did to that girl. Noone never needed to read those unecessary details.. gender and age and circumstance were enough they did not need to offer as much.... that is awful..
Also, can some of us give an 8 yr old alittle bit of break in articluation???????
As far as Tanner saying he only knew he wasnt there while he was on the bus... we have to remember he is only 8... I believe any 8 yr old wud explain his thoughts the same way that Tanner did.. He said he never saw him again after he walked done the hall which is prolly a memory that is sad and scary for him..yet he said he realized this while on the bus.. Clearly, he is trying describe how he never miseed him or noticed he wasnt back in class all day until it was home time.. dont forget they had the sscience fair and then a short time later it was luch, and then a talent show till home time... he is only 8 and looked like he had a pretty consistent story .

The sad thing is, so much precious time has been lost. Why this wasn't considered criminal and an Amber Alert issued immediately is beyond me. Does anyone know if cadaver dogs were brought to the school? That should have been done immediately, along with searching the landfills. And no news this morning on Kyron. J4A, thanks so much for those links. I hope this child isn't lost forever.

Kyron Horman's Parents' Plea: 'Come Home'
Boy's Biological Parents Have No Theories On Disappearance, But Hold Out Hope
Post a Comment By LEE FERRAN, KRISTEN FRASIER and JUSTIN WEAVER
June 25, 2010
The parents of missing Kyron Horman appeared on national television for the first time today to issue an emotional plea for the 7-year-old Oregon boy to "come home."
Desire Young and Caine Hormon say they're living a "parent's worst nightmare.""Honestly it's a parent's worst nightmare," Kyron's mother, Desiree Young, told "Good Morning America." "We've racked our brains trying to think of reasons why. We cannot come up with anything... It's like a portal opened up in the school and Kyron just vanished into it. It's a mystery."
Young choked up when she tried to give her missing son the message that she and Kyron's father, Kaine Horman, "love you and we need you to come home."
Young described her boy as very timid and not prone to adventure.
"He also can't see very well so he tends to stick very close to home. He doesn't go outside a certain parameter... He doesn't wander off. It's not his personality type," Young said.
Police called off major search operations last week and seemed to focus their attention on Kyron's stepmother, Terri Horman, who was reportedly the last person to see Kyron alive when she dropped him off at school. Terri Horman has not been named a suspect or person of interest in the disappearance.
Kyron's biological parents were told by authorities not to discuss details of the investigation and are in constant contact with police and are doing everything they can -- including their appearance on "GMA" -- to help find the boy.
"It's important to keep Kyron's face out there so everybody sees him so hopefully someone will see him and recognize him and report that tip that we're waiting for to bring him home," Young said.

Re: Kyron Horman -- Missing 6/4/10 #1
aj, I get that abductors take great risks in being seen taking their victim. But let's say Terri really did do it for a second....her risk would have been minimal since it wouldn't be weird at all for her to have been seen leaving with Kyron. And sure, after he was reported missing, she would have no idea who might come forward and say they saw her leave with him....but think about the stories she could tell if they did say that. She could just say they were mistaken for one thing!
Did you see that story about the 14 year old boy who got arrested for trying to lure a small child away from a store? He claimed he was helping the child find her mother...and he claimed he walked outside with the little girl because she thought she saw her mom leaving the store and he wanted to let the little girl check to see if that was her mom pushing a basket in the parking lot. Now, it would seem like there'd be no way the mom would be leaving the store without her daughter, so no reason to let the little girl go outside to see if that was her mom in the parking lot....but the boy said he let the little girl check because she was determined it was her mom. Well, the kid saw it was not her mom, so the boy brought her back inside the store....that's when the mom saw her kid with this boy....and they arrested him! Was he guilty of trying to kidnap or not? When he had her outside he did not have hold of her at all. He really looked like he was just trying to help and made a bad choice in taking the girl outside. Furthermore, what was he going to do with her anyway....he was with his own mother so unless she was 'in on it', the boy is innocent. Yet, he was arrested! It's all about perception!
So as perception goes...I have a perception about the pic minus the glasses.....I have not seen any other time when a missing person who wore glasses on a regular basis had their image photoshopped by the FBI to remove the glasses - in case anyone should see him without them. Kyron's real mom said he couldn't see well....hence we can fairly assume that if Kyron were seen without his glasses on, it would not be of him walking around as if he didn't need them. Perception....Kyron would not be walking around without his glasses for anyone to identify him....so why photoshop his glasses off him in the first place?
Speculation.....it was Terri's idea...just an overzealous suggestion, and his glasses will be found somewhere that will eventually lead to where Kyron's little body was dumped.

Lottie,
The story of the boy trying to help, was sad.... Now ppl will be afraid to help anyone, especially a child.
What I dont get is that LE and many ppl, seem to want to immediatley think the worst about another person.. I dont get that....
Why did LE not realize that a little kid, may be so panicked that they cant find their mom, they start picturing a woman leaving the store and assume that must be the mom..
A 14 yr old boy wud not necessarily have the logic/wherewithall... to tell the kid no, it must not have been your mom... He sopunds like he is a caring boy who was trying to be helpful, and wud appease the child..
Like you said ..what the hell was he going to do with her?? He was with his own mother... What is our world coming too??????
ALos, about the pic, clealry this pic is not photoshopped...there are too many things on the pic showing it is authentic.. even NG's guest concur that it is authentic...
It tells me that LE are including the possibility that he was abducted by someone other than Terri, where they wud try and change his identity and walking around with this perp.....
As fdar as Terri coming bak to the school to take him where ppl wud kn ow her vehicle and her face and even the way she may walk, ot knowong her jacket/purse... it doesnt seem like a premed abduction by her, wud have taken place at such a public place.... SHe like many parents wud have likely thought it wud be a tougher act to achieve.. I suspect that many ppl, got a huge eye oener as to how easy , evidently it was...

Kyron's parents stand behind Terri........I don't believe they would make that statement if they didn't mean it.
So much time was lost that first day........the school failed Kyron miserably.

Has anyone been reading more at Blink's? She seems to feel the reason behind releasing the picture of Kyron without his glasses is because his glasses may have been removed by a kidnapper and sent to a family member. They had released a picture of what they are saying were identical glasses, Blink felt from the beginning they were Kyron's actual glasses. He can hardly see without them. Here is the picture that was released:

Clipped from Blinkoncrime:
You heard me say the day the pic of the glasses came out- I believed they were Kyron’s.
I said it again, when they showed him without the glasses.
It is my belief the glasses were received by someone in this family from whoever is responsible for what happened to him, and the entire questionaire is designed to produce exemplars to match a writing sample, as contained in my notes in the piece. This action, by someone thinking they are smarter than LE is what will ultimately catch them.
B
Mark my words, this comes down to someone with a lifestyle issue that caused this, and they never saw it coming. Secondly, I think information is being withheld from Desiree.

She's keeps stating lifestyle choice, whether it was Terri's or Terri and Kaine's together, she won't say.
What are your thoughts on this?

Could this be why they were announcing this as an isolated incident and for other parents not to be alarmed. Kyron was possibly targeted, as a payback. I hope it means Kyron may still be alive, held in captivity somewhere if this is the case.

That is a very interesting, and perhaps plausible cause. I certainly won't discount it, but I'm not going to jump on that bandwagon either w/o evidence - at this point, it's speculation. I understand LE not releasing more details, but at some point you have to think that by the public not knowing some key points that it starts to hinder rather than help the investigation... We are all hoping that they have reason to say that this is an isolated incidence - maybe one of the parent couples involved are swingers and there's a jilted "lover" out there - who knows?? there are all kinds of theories and possibilities, but in the mean time, we really have VERY little to go on. My feeling is that LE should release SOMETHING to the public to generate more leads, it doesn't have to be their key pc of evidence, but just something to perhaps trigger a memory or something along those lines. If the glasses were sent as some kind of "ransom" I would be shocked - I cannot remember the last time I've seen a ransom kidnapping - if ever...

Re: Kyron Horman -- Missing 6/4/10 #1
Tish, I agree that we need more to go on. It would be a very bold move by the kidnapper to send Kyron's glasses to a family member, but it is possible. Since LE is releasing next to nothing, we are stuck with thousands of possibilities and very little evidence.
