ARANSAS COUNTY — Aransas County Court-at-Law Judge William Adams has been in and out of the courthouse in Rockport preparing for next week's docket, while his daughter made another national television appearance Friday.

Adams was reinstated by the Texas Supreme Court after a yearlong paid suspension resulting from a judicial conduct inquiry.

CORPUS CHRISTI — A Texas judge shown in a video beating his teenage daughter in 2004 will return to the bench this week after the Texas Supreme Court lifted his suspension.

The justices reinstated Aransas County Court-at-Law Judge William Adams on Tuesday, a year after they suspended him with pay when a video of him beating of his daughter became an Internet sensation.

Adams is scheduled to preside over cases on the regular court docket Wednesday in Rockport, Aransas County District Clerk Pam Heard told the Corpus Christi Caller-Times.

Texas judge caught beating daughter on video loses re-election

The Texas judge who made headlines three years ago when a video of him viciously beating his daughter surfaced online is finally off the bench.

Aransas County Court-At-Law Judge William Adams failed in his bid for re-election Tuesday—a defeat many credit to the alarming video.

...At the time the video was release, William Adams was able to avoid any jail time or legal penalties, with local prosecutors determining that too much time had passed to bring charges. The judge was merely suspended for a year—with his full $150,000 annual salary—before being reinstated by the Texas State Supreme Court in 2012.
