I feel sorry for this little boy. If his account of what happened is accurate, I think the officials involved are WRONG!!!

A Boston elementary school is investigating a 7-year-old first-grader for sexual harassment after he struck another boy his age in the groin.

But the mother of the accused said her son was fending off the other child, who had choked him in an altercation on a school bus on Nov. 22.

“I think my kid was right to fight back,’’ said the mother, Tasha Lynch, 30. “He wasn’t doing anything except protecting himself.’’

Don't you think this is a bit ridiculous??? Kids can't even be kids anymore...Society expects them to think and act as adults, never mind going through adolescence either...There are enough frivolous lawsuits going on...the parents/adults need to step back and realize that a kid has the right to protect himself...If he had told an adult about the teasing(?) it would have gone nowhere other than even more agression from the agressor...So I guess that he's kicked off the bus now...and perhaps suspended from school for God knows how long...just for standing up for himself...What kind of message is that telling kids?

This is just plain stupid. I think that the more this ol' world continues, the stupider people get. There was nothing of a sexual nature in this situation, just a child trying to defend himself.
You are right, Estee, about the adults not doing anything - kids are taught to not be "tattle-tales', but how else are they going to get help?

We've seen several recent stories of kids committing suicide after being bullied and now society is trying to teach kids not to defend themselves. It is totally ridiculous to accuse this little boy of sexual harassment.

Another nut job trying to blame a 7 yr old. Good grief! (is Bozo the lawyer in this case???) If the charges stick, this child is ruined for life....how sad.

Sounds to me like society has no idea what the definition of "harassment" is. This little guy had had enough so he defended himself, not sexually harassed the bully. Adults are the sick ones in this case for thinking such a thing.

If what this little boy did to defend himself is considered sexual harassment, what, I wonder, are they calling what the other kid was doing to him?

Oh! (smack my forehead) That's right, probably nothing! All of a sudden the bully is the victim, and the real victim is the accused.

Just because he kicked him in the gonads does not make this sexual sexual harassment!!! I know it smarted, but did it make him SMARTER (the bully, that is..)...Bet he'll think twice now before going near his classmate ...

When my dau#1 was 4yo, we had a neighbor kid that used to beat up on her all the time...I got sick and tired of her coming home (inside) crying so I told her the next tome to haul off and hit him as hard as she could...Several days latter I heard a squabble in the yard and looked out to see the little guy trying to open his front door and my dau was tugging at his pant legs...I called her in and she told me she had retaliated and chased him home...I told her.."Good for you!!!"..That kid never touched her again!!!

I agree, Estee. It was self defense, and he just happened to make contact with the other kid's private area. Not sexual harassment. It's ridiculous that they're calling this inappropriate touching.

My younger brother and I were walking home from school one day and two of his friends who decided they weren't his friend anymore started beating him up.
One kid had my brother on the ground, punching him. The kid was bent over, so I kicked him from behind in his behind. Right between his legs. The fight ended there, and they went home.
