FORT WAYNE, Ind.(Indiana's NewsCenter) --- The Allen County Coroner says the brutally murdered 9-year-old was 'systematically' dismembered.

In a statement issued early Tuesday evening regarding the brutal death of Aliahna Lemmon, the coroner didn't hold back in describing the brutality of the deed.

"On Monday, December 26, 2011, the Allen County Sheriff's Department and other law enforcement agencies developed significant leads into the investigation of a missing 9-year-old Fort Wayne girl, Aliahna Lemmon. With reason to believe that a deceased child was nearby, the Allen County Coroner's office and other forensic investigators responded to two separate locations, one of which was the Northway mobile home park near North Clinton Street and Diebold Road, from where Aliahna had disappeared, and another at a nearby convenience store/gas station. Human remains believed to be that of a female juvenile were found at both locations. Officials from the Allen County Coroner's office and police crime scene technicians painstakingly documented the areas and recovered evidence. The remains were transported to the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center."

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – According to the State of Indiana, a murder can qualify for the death penalty if there are specific aggravating circumstances.

Under Indiana law, the aggravating circumstances that qualify for the death penalty include the commission of a murder of an individual who is under the age of 12, if the defendant was molesting or raping the victim and if the victim was dismembered.

Three felony charges were filed in Allen Superior Court today against the man who police say has admitted to killing and dismembering 9-year-old Aliahna Lemmon last week.

Michael L. Plumadore, 39, is charged with murder, abuse of a corpse and removing a body from the scene of a suspicious death “with intent to hinder a criminal investigation.” All are felonies, and Chief Allen County Deputy Prosecutor Mike McAlexander said today the office “has not precluded” the possibility of seeking the death penalty against Plumadore.

Mobile home where girl died moved from park

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The mobile home that Michael Plumadore was living in when he allegedly killed nine-year-old Aliahna Lemmon is being moved Friday.

According to Allen County Sheriff Ken Fries, the sheriff’s department is moving the mobile home, now at Northway Mobile Home Park at 9435 Leo Road, to an undisclosed location on behalf of a request from the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Allen County Prosecutor’s Office filed three formal charges against Michael Plumadore Friday morning in the murder case of nine-year-old Aliahna Lemmon.

Plumadore was charged with Murder, Abuse of Corpse, a Class D felony, and Violent or Suspicious Death of a Person; Moving Body from Scene, another Class D felony.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, under Indiana law, Plumadore could face 45 to 60 years for the murder charge and another six months to three years for each of the other two offenses.

The man who allegedly killed and dismembered a 9-year-old Fort Wayne girl was accused of stalking and sexually harassing a 13-year-old girl while living in Iowa last year, but the complaint against him was dismissed, according to court documents.

A Centerville, Iowa, woman asked for a protective order against Michael L. Plumadore in November 2010 to keep him away from her daughter, according to the documents and an official with the Appanoose County clerk of court’s office.

The woman said Plumadore was harassing her daughter by “stalking her, sending her explicit sexual text messages and photographs,” according to the documents. The girl’s mother also said he sent pictures of his genitals and messages telling the girl he “wanted to get her pregnant.”

Sisters of slain 9-year-old are in protective custody

The two younger sisters of slain 9-year-old Aliahna Lemmon have been removed from parental custody by Indiana Child Protective Services. Michelle L. Savieo, the local head of Child Protective Services, confirmed the action Friday afternoon.

As is the norm in such procedures, no other details about the removal were made available, including the reasons for the action and how long the removal will be in effect.

It was heartbreaking watching the video of Aliahna's best friend. I don't know what to say about this case. Plumadore takes evil to a new level and it's a shame that people like him are allowed to walk the earth.

The Rules For A Sex Offender

Local detectives say by no means is Indiana a safe haven for offenders.

Offenders who come to Indiana must stay on the registry for the longest time period possible.

So, if Michigan requires 15 years and Indiana requires 10, the offender must be on the registry for 15 years. The "whichever is longer" language ensures that Indiana is not a dumping ground for other states' offenders looking to shave time off their registration.

But there are also three categories of offenders in Indiana with different restrictions.

CENTERVILLE — More Centerville ties to the story of nine-year-old Aliahna Lemmon, who was killed in Indiana Dec. 22, have been found since the Daily Iowegian first reported that the girl’s father held residency in the Centerville area.

In a January 2010 case, Aliahna is listed as the victim of a sexual assault. Kurtis Allen Kennedy, age 19 at the time of the crime, was originally charged with second degree sexual abuse. He was later arraigned on a charge of indecent contact with a child, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Kennedy plead not guilty to the original charge on April 16, 2010. On July 9, 2010 he entered a guilty plea to the indecent contact with a child charge.

According to a complaint affidavit signed by Centerville Police Officer Jeremy Cole, during a Jan. 21 interview with Kennedy at his home, he confessed to his acts on Jan. 2.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - The mobile home Michael Plumadore was living in when he allegedly killed Aliahna last week was moved Friday.

You're only going to see this video here on wane.com. This is where Plumadore had been living. It was originally Lemmon's grandfather's trailer. The Allen County Chief Deputy Prosecutor says Plumadore's mobile home was moved by the county's request. I'm being told it will be used as evidence. Moving it to a different location allows them to preserve it.

I am at a loss for words for beautiful Ali. Her little nine years of life was pure living hell on this earth.

My only solace is that it is over for her now. She's restfully at peace and she can never be harmed again. May you forever walk in sunshine, precious child.

I admit, this past year has been hard on me... and reading day after day of these horrible crimes against children........ it just makes it worse.

I don't know what's wrong with the world today.

I never thought I'd live in a world where kids can be so abused and be made to disappear........

and nothing happens.

I feel so strongly about these cases and the need for justice.

We’ve already heard plenty of the trailer park near Ft. Wayne, Indiana that Aliahna was living in when Michael Plumadore, her “entrusted caretaker” brutally beat her to death with a brick and then dismembered her. The trailer park is a haven for Registered Sex Offenders (RSO) with 15 known RSOs living there. We also learned that her grandfather, the man who had owned the very trailer she was murdered at, had been a RSO as well. Aliahna’s school plans memorial

Michael Plumadore's trial is scheduled for 6-18-12. The trial is expected to last 5 days.

Pre-trial conferences are scheduled for April 16, 2012 and May 14, 2012.

Judge John F. Surbeck, Jr. is the presiding judge in the Plumadore case.

I never thought there would be a trial.
I don't feel like this is justice for Aliahna, but he will never be able to hurt any other little girls. I'm still sick this happened to a little girl by someone she trusted. I hope her siblings are with someone who can keep them safe and not pawn them off.
