When asked Friday by Allen Superior Court John Surbeck what he had done, Plumadore responded that he "repeatedly struck Aliahna in the head with a brick" and that she died as a result.

Responding to the charge of abuse of a corpse, Plumadore said, "I cut Aliahna up with a hacksaw."

Surbeck asked what happened next.

"I put parts in my freezer and took the rest down to the Marathon station and put them in a Dumpster," Plumadore said.

What started with a missing person’s report at 8:45 p.m. Dec. 23 ends today in Allen Superior Court.

That’s when Michael Len Plumadore will be sentenced for the murder of 9-year-old Aliahna Marie Maroney Lemmon.

Plumadore’s guilty plea in May to charges of murder, abuse of a corpse and removing a body from the scene of a violent or suspicious death spared him the death penalty.

But if Allen Superior Court Judge John Surbeck accepts the plea, Plumadore, 39, faces the rest of his life behind bars, without any possibility of ever getting out. Even if Indiana decided to get rid of the sentence of life without parole, Plumadore’s status as a habitual offender would put him in prison beyond his natural life.

FORT WAYNE, Ind., (Indiana's NewsCenter) - "We needed finality, so he could never hurt anyone again."

Allen County Prosecutor Karen Richards made that comment Monday, as child murderer Michael Plumadore was sentenced to life without parole for killing Aliahna Lemmon.

Besides murder, Plumadore also pleaded guilty to abuse of a corpse and moving a body from the scene of a crime.

Judge John Surbeck not only endorsed the life without parole agreement, but he tacked on 36 additional years to the sentence, recognizing Plumadore as a habitual offender.

Surbeck called the crime, “The worst of the worst”.

I hope it's a long, miserable existence for this monster.

I have a very, very hard time with forgiveness for monsters like this. But at least there is some measure of justice for Aliahna. And for that, I can be somewhat content.

Aliahna Marie Maroney Lemmon, 9, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 in Fort Wayne. Born in Ft. Wayne, IN, she was a 3rd grade student at Holland Elementary School.

Aliahna is survived by her father, Dawayne Maroney of IA; mother, Tarah (Allen) Souders of Fort Wayne; siblings, Briana, Shaleigh, Trinity and Kyle; grandparents, Leanne (David) Story of Jacksonville, FL; Fred and Becky Maroney of New Haven, grandmother, Joy Brehm of Ohio; step-father, Allen Souders; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Aliahna was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Lemmon.

Memorial Service is 7pm, Thursday, January 5, 2012 at First Assembly of God, 1400 W. Washington Center Road, with gathering one hour prior.

This is the reason I DO believe in the death penalty.
This man does not deserve to get 3 squares and clean sheets.
Not at tax payers' expense. Nope.

I hate that he doesn't have to explain "why?"

This case has been the hardest case I have ever followed. I cried when Ali was discovered. I cried over what little facts were released. I still have a difficult time because I hold others responsible for putting this angel in harms way. A family member did speak in court. She was quoted in an article and it made me cringe. I will recognize this may only be part of her statement. This was a time to speak about Ali not time to reflect on the families public image. I'm not proud of critiquing this woman's impact statement and I acknowledge her words are probably even correct. I strongly feel this should have been Ali's time.

A relative did speak, chastising Plumadore.

Elizabeth Sepponen testified, “Your villainous and vile act has put our entire family under a microscope.”

She also said Aliahna’s mother will forever be judged because of the crime, referring to the fact she believes some in the community hold her partly responsible for turning over her kids to Plumadore, which gave him an opportunity to carry out the murder.

Ugh! Remember this horrible family? The step mom to Aliahna is being charged with attempted murder for trying to drown her 5 mo. old. Sick and twisted family.

Wow. Sadly I am not surprised! This POS was discussed a lot after Aliahna's murder. She just gave birth! It makes me wonder what other horrors Aliahna suffered?

Article states this attempt to murder was in 2009.
Article states Kristina K-M is 23 years old.
So she would have been about 20 when she had a 5 month old child.
And even younger when she rec some certificate in 2008.
The family member in NY, IIRC is another Kennedy. Was it Kurtis?
