Five-year-old Haleigh Cummings went to bed Feb. 9, 2009, in her dad's mobile home in Satsuma. Her dad, Ronald, was working the night shift, so the last person to see Haliegh that night was his 16-year-old girlfriend, Misty Croslin.

The next morning, Croslin told Putnam County investigators she woke up to find the back door propped open and Haleigh gone.

An Amber Alert was issued and a massive search began. On the ground, from the air, with dogs, by horseback and in the water, the entire community came together together to help. Ponds were searched and one was even drained.

Five-year-old Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her Satsuma home three years ago Friday, and despite thousands of leads and intense media scrutiny, the case has never been solved.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office still aggressively pursues leads and Sheriff Jeff Hardy said that effort will continue, according to a press release.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Friday, February 10th, 2012 marks the three year anniversary of the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings.

During the early morning hours of February 10, 2009, Cummings was reported missing from her home in Satsuma. She has not been seen since that night.

Today not only marks the anniversary of her disappearance but also three years of investigative efforts. In a news release, Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy said there have been 168 CrimeStopper tips regarding the Haleigh Cummings investigation in just the last 12 months.

Three years since her disappearance Haleigh Cummings' family remains hopeful she will someday return to them.

The little girl disappeared from her home in Satsuma the night of February 9, 2009.

Since that time her paternal grandmother, Teresa Neves, says life has been near impossible.

"I can't tell you how hard it is to get up everyday and hope that it's the day Haleigh comes home," Neves said.

Holding Out Hope: Family's vigil marks anniversary of her disappearance

WELAKA - Friends and loved ones packed into a Fourth Avenue home Friday night to keep the missing, now-8-year-old Haleigh Cummings' name and face known and remembered.

The home, belonging to Haleigh's great-grandmother Annette Sykes, has been the site for multiple prayer vigils since the little girl disappeared three years ago in Satsuma.

A large poster remains outside with two photos of the little girl and a request for anyone who has seen her to call Crime Stoppers at (888) 277-8477.

As rain started to drizzle, around 30 people gathered inside to light candles in tribute, with a table of teddy bears and photos of the little girl in the front of the room.

"We believe she's out there," step great-grandmother Barbie Squires said.

The 5-year-old up and vanished in the middle of the night. Soon after, police and volunteers scoured the woods and river around her house, but no Haleigh.

Three years have gone by and still there have been no charges made in the homicide of Haleigh Cummings, who vanished from the mobile home of her father in 2009. Haleigh’s father Ron, his lover Misty Croslin, and others connected to them, are in prison for 15+ years after getting busted dealing drugs. Investigators are hoping to sweat them until they break and finally reveal where Haleigh’s body was disposed of.

I’ve made it no secret that I think both Ron and Misty are responsible for what happened to Haleigh, or have knowledge regarding Haleigh’s demise. I’ve always felt the two trashy druggies know exactly what happened to her. Their weird behavior is well documented and there is no need for me to rehash it. I think they are both evil low life’s… Always have and always will.

interesting...what's he going to court for over the weekend?

Well maybe he has to go to court to formally lodge apeal proceedings I assume he will be apealing severity off sentance as apposed to guilt as they entered guilty pleas.Looking over his documentation he doesnt apear to have an attorney.So maybe if he is representing himself has to apear personally ..Anyhoo I saw some tweets saying Levi Page will have all the update on his show tonight.

Ronald Cummings can not appeal. He entered a plea agreement with the Prosecutors. He could have faced a maximum of 70 years in prison. He will serve a minimum mandatory 15 years.

Ronald Cummings, father of a 5-year-old girl who remains missing three years after her disappearance from his Satsuma home, got a weekend out of prison less than a year into his 15-year sentence for drug dealing.

But the only reason Haleigh Cummings' father left the state's Santa Rosa Correctional Institution in Milton on Friday is because he was picked up by Brevard County officials for a court hearing there, according to Putnam County Sheriff's Office officials.

This is curious, I guess he is going to is ask for Junior to be brought to see him in prison, I have read some are successful in doing so despite the objections of the other bio parent or the child's caretaker. If I were Chrystal, I would fight it. I hope CPS or someone is drug testing Chrystal & she has finally pulled it together for Jr.'s sake.

No job, no child support, locked up for years on drug charges, nothing positive to contribute to Junior's life, I hope he isn't causing any problems for Junior.

The father of Haleigh Cummings, the Putnam County toddler missing for three years, was transferred from state prison to the Brevard County Jail Tuesday.

Ronald Cummings is in the Brevard County Jail awaiting a custody hearing.

A Brevard County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said the hearing is in Brevard County because Cummings has another child, or children, with a woman in the area.

Per the reporter, the Hearing will take place Monday, July 2, 2012, in Titusville, FL at 4:30 p.m. EDT. It is not open to the public.

As with child custody cases, the identity of the child or children is not disclosed.

Cummings parental rights to his children with Crystal Sheffield have been terminated some time ago.

The upcoming Custody Hearing involves a child or children that Cummings had with a Brevard County woman prior to his relationship with Crystal Sheffield.

It’s been more than three years since Haleigh Cummings vanished from her family home without a trace. The case remains unsolved and many questions remain on what happened to the precious 5-year-old.

This is terrible, but I had forgotten that Ron had another child, I think maybe a special needs child with a different baby mama.
