SATSUMA, Fla. -- It's been five years since anyone has seen little HaLeigh's Cummings. The 5-year-old disappeared in Satsuma in 2009.

Monday marks five years since 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings disappeared in Putnam County.

On this difficult day, her family is planning a ceremony at her school. The community will gather at Browning Pierce Elementary at 1:30 p.m. to dedicate a plaque to Haleigh.

During the early morning hours of February 10, 2009, Haleigh Cummings was reported missing from her residence in Satsuma. PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. -- Monday marked five years since Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her Satsuma home in the middle of the night. Her father was at work, and his girlfriend was at his home with Haleigh.

Family and classmates of Haleigh's gathered at Browning Pearce Elementary in Putnam County to remember the then-5-year-old girl.

I wondered why I did not see Crystal Sheffield in the video (5 year anniversary vigil for Haleigh Cummings) at the First Coast News website.


I noticed that crankycrankerson's Photobucket info about various family members indicate that Crystal is in the Baker County Jail.

Family holds vigil five years after Haleigh Cummings disappeared

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) -
Five years after 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings disappeared, her family is continuing to honor her memory.

On Monday, Haleigh's grandmother and great grandmother presented a plaque at Browning Pearce Elementary School, the school Cummings went to in Putnam County.

It was placed in front of the tree they dedicated last year.

Missing boy is related to Haleigh Cummings, another missing child

"....PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — As the search continues for 21-month-old Lonzie Barton in Jacksonville, details have emerged that he is related to a little girl who disappeared in 2009.

According to family members, Lonzie and Haleigh Cummings are distant cousins.

Haleigh's paternal great-grandmother says the family relation exists on Haleigh's mother's side of the family.

Haleigh Cummings disappeared from her Putnam county home in 2009 in the middle of the night. A massive search took place for her and her story made national headlines.

Haleigh is still missing.

According to Captain Gator DeLoach with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, detectives assigned to the Haleigh Cummings case will be put in touch with detectives from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office to look for similarities in an effort to resolve both cases.

Her great-grandmother, Annette Sykes, said she is praying for Lonzie's family.

"We understand exactly how they feel. To realize that not only is Haleigh missing but so is her cousin," Sykes voice cracked as she spoke. "I don't even know the words for it."..."

New video evidence is released in the decade-long search for five-year-old Haleigh Cummings who vanished from Florida home when her father's 17-year-old girlfriend was babysitting

"... Investigators continue to believe Croslin is key in Haleigh's disappearance. They say her story has changed multiple times over the past decade but Croslin has never been charged in the case.

Haleigh's mystery disappearance is now the subject of a new HLN docuseries called Real Life Nightmare to air on Saturday night.

Among the evidence shown in the documentary is never-before-seen video of Cummings speaking to a tearful Croslin in a police interview room after they were both interviewed.

'You didn't wake up,' Cummings could be heard saying to Croslin after an investigator let him into the interview room when she was being questioned.

She sobbed as she said: 'I would never let nothing happen to her if I knew something. I wouldn't let someone just take her.' ,,,"
