ok val could've just closed the thread, like she did with my brother's threads, as some of it was getting bad in those threads and so she shut them down, and she could've also blocked the people that were posting negative things, as it was her blog, and she did it before, instead leaving all of us in a lurch

Hi, Darkman!

Reality Chatter (RC) is primarily set up for missing/abused and or murdered children and a few adults have been included. RC's primary focus is to bring attention to missing children.

As children (and a few adults) are found (usually murdered), the case is moved from Missing to Unsolved Homicides if the case is unsolved and then to Awaiting Trial, etc. until the case is Closed. We focus on supporting justice for the victims. As you will see on the threads, there are many links to mainstream media articles.

Rumors are not allowed to be posted on the threads hence many Links to mainstream media articles primarily.

Some of the families of the victims post here and read our threads.

There is limited space here and like many sites Reality Chatter can not cover every case.

There are many missing children cases from Texas and other states that I wish could be covered here but the Site Owners/Administrators can not cover every case and I understand. Texas alone has over 1,000 missing person cases!

There might be other sites that are covering the Bashara case. Reality Chatter is not covering the Bashara case.

Hi everyone,

I only knew The Hinkey Meter from the Sierra Lamar case. I stumbled upon THM in the very early days of the Sierra Lamar case and have read it daily ever since. I never posted on THM, shy I guess. I was shocked today to find that it was gone. So sad. I googled "what happened to the hinky meter" and came upon this site. So glad it's here. I will check out this site and perhaps break out of my "lurker" status and post some comments. Just wanted to say hello to everyone and thank you to this site for welcoming THM followers.

I will miss Valhall and The Hinky Meter! Her dedication to determining the facts in various cases was awesome. I will miss the Hinky Library too and the many wonderful folks that posted at THM. However, it appears a lot of you are here now!

I hope all of you will like it at Reality Chatter. We might be on the tame side here but we have families of victims that read here and we make every effort to keep it respectful to the victim and to the families of the victims.

As you may see on the threads, there is an established guideline for posting a Link. Of course, we can not post more than 10% of an article due to copyright laws. The owners of Reality Chatter ensure that copyright laws are not violated on their site.

Puzzler, yes! I was just coming here to post the Link for you.

For your info, in the Header, there is a Search box. You can click on it and type: Rebecca Zahau. Her thread would have come up.

It is a quick way to find threads.

As stated on Page 1, the threads are under Sections (depending what stage the case is in):

Just click on Forum in the Header. It will open to a page with Sections such as Missing, Daily News, etc.

Click on the Section title and it will open to all of the threads in that Section.

Once you get the hang of it, you will be zipping all over RC!

Hi, ExerSarah! Welcome to Reality Chatter!

I could not believe that THM was shut down. Up until about 4 Friday afternoon, I thought perhaps someone hacked the site and made it appear it was shut down.

Reality Chatter has been a long time supporter of The Hinky Meter and even had a section where the title and first sentence or so of Valhall's articles would appear on the Homepage here with a Link back to her site to read the article.

There are a lot of very nice people here. Some sites will allow folks to bash one another. It is not allowed here. We are respectful of one another and agree to disagree. To my knowledge, the Site Administrators have never shut down a thread.

I hope you post here. Please do not be shy. This is a friendly site and there are a lot of nice, caring people here. Many are very dedicated child advocates.

Reality Chatter has welcomed The Hinky members to join here and I hope every one feels welcomed and comfortable posting here.

We also have some fun threads here. They are listed in the Forum. Scroll down. We have a Games Section, Arcade, Gardening, Recipes/Cooking, etc. Don't be bashful! Click away in the Forum.

The Arcade and Games sections are among my favorite fun threads. Sometimes a person just needs a break from the tragic cases of child abuse/murder/missing, etc.

I missed part of the trial and was going to go and read Freckles "Live" posting of the testimony. Just as I was going to do that, THM was shut down.

I want you to know that we have a Gabriel Johnson thread here. Any articles pertaining to the case such as Elizabeth Johnson and Tammi & Jack Smith are posted there.

Val is making the Ventrilo available to the former Hinksters so we can finish watching the Tammi Smith trial. Also, prior to shutting THM down, she indicated if there were other Live Stream events we could use it. She does not know how long she will have it available to us.

The Tammi Smith trial will resume testimony on Monday, 5-14-12, at 10:30 a.m. MST
(12:30 p.m. CDT/ 1:30 p.m. EDT)

I hope to be there on Monday by 12:30 CDT. I think EDRN (chickenbutts), One Wonders, and others will also be there. chickenbutts knows the tech info regarding Ventrilo and was real helpful to some that were not use to using Ventrilo.

This is what is now posted on Ventrilo prior to entering the Chat Room:

The Hinky Meter is no longer a maintained website. This vent server will be left up for a short time and is available to any former Hinky members who would like to use it if certain case events take place in which you want to meet. I am unsure how long I will maintain the vent server.

To do a quick search for a thread, you can click on Search in the Header.

A small box will drop down. Type in the name of the case you are looking for and click.

Example: Ayla Reynolds

It will take you to her title thread and you can click on. Then it will take you to the thread.

Eileen, there are quite a few of Hinksters that have joined and perhaps you will get to blog with some of your "Hinky" friends here. I know it won't be the same as The Hinky Meter but at least you can be among "Hinky" friends.

We also have a lot of very nice people here at Reality Chatter. Hopefully, we will all blend and be one big happy family!

This has been stated before but here goes again in case you missed it.

Reality Chatter has a Live Chat which is really cool. It is at the bottom of the Forum page. It is open 24/7. There is NO AUDIO.

You can use it any time. I think sitemama stated somewhere here that the Site Administrators do not allow vulgar language, Links to porn sites, etc.

You can have a lot of fun on Live Chat. Just keep it clean and no arguments. Site Administrators will not hesitate to shut it down and it will be shut down for a long time.

Remember every one that is a member can see what you are typing. If you want a private conversation, please PM.

In the upper right corner of the Chat box, click on Log In. You should be good to go.

You can select a color for your text, there are emoticons, and all kinds of bells and whistles. Feel free to click on the icons to see what does what!

I am so glad to see all of you. Valhall and the Hinky was it for me. Years ago when I found Val's blog I never read anywhere else again. I broke down and cried yesterday when I found out the Hinky Meter was gone forever. I am still so sad and forlorn. But it helps to see all of you here!

Hello Hinkies....sad sad day for members of Val's blog - I don't want to believe it is shut down, but am so pleased to join you here and see "old" friends. Val is a truly remarkable woman, and I've learned so much from her site and all the members who shared so much of themselves while grieving and asking for justice for all of the endangered.
