Re: Hinky Meter "Refugees"
Hi, this is Tess from HM. I was just so upset when the realization of HM being shut down was a reality.
Val is ok, she posted over on Niecey's site and she has some personal stuff to work through about her mom and dad. She was also a bit upset with the general tone of the blog becoming polarized. Anyway, she has a post that explains her position over there.
I am glad that there is this site and I look forward to posting and visiting with you all. I have to learn how to navigate (and I will) so for now I will stay in one spot to feel safe :)

Re: Hinky Meter "Refugees"
Greetings & salutations to my fellow Hinky Refugees
I have been beyond lost without Val, THM & my fellow Hinksters. It's been a process finding my way over here to RC, and I have to agree with so many of you that have posted upthread: it's comforting to see so many familiar "HinkyHandles" and I am pleased to meet new everyone here.
I actually did read Val's last post for the short time it was up, and although I had the worst feeling, I didn't know she was "signing off" for good. I am so worried for her, and I pray that she can feel the love that is beaming her way from all over the planet.
I look forward to learning the ropes here at RC.
Although no one knows what the future holds I have no choice but to support Val's decision. If anything, it led me to RC, and no matter what, I intend to stay.
@Tamta alluded to the fact that there is work to be done. Of that, there is no doubt. So again, thank you for giving this Hinky Refugee safe haven. It is appreciated beyond words!

SweetT, thank you for this link, this is fine to post. I wish Val all the best.

Thank you, FystyAngel, for taking in us HM Refugees.
BTW, John Walsh spotlighted the Sierra Lamar case on "America's Most Wanted" last night. I hope that will help find the answers to what happened/where Sierra is.
I also hope that Val, Mr. Val & their pets are well and safe.

Hi Hinky family. So sad to see the THM shut down - and I truly hope Val gets through this tough time and will come back even stronger - I know I will be keeping a look out for her if and when she decides to turn the Hinky engine back on. If you read this Val, we love you ...take care of yourself, that always comes first.

Re: Hinky Meter "Refugees"
justiceforall & fysty angel, thank you for the warm welcoming & hospitality in opening your home to take in the refugees.
I too am heartsick about Val's decision but nothing is more important than her healing & her family. Val, is absolutely right, she always was, but the polarization in our country has too polarized blog topics, such as the George Zimmerman thread as she shared. Outrageous opinions pitted in anger/emotion & not based on facts had penetrated the objectivity of many imo, those that post at the hinky should have known better. Val had to step in 2 or 3 times in the last couple of days to straighten it out. A ridiculous waste of Val's time.
KUDOS to Val for making the decision to put herself/family first. I wish Val godspeed in her journey.
Meanwhile, I am so happy to see so many ole friends & looking forward to making new friends too here at RC. How can we make sense in the madness of the cases of these missing children? I don't know but maybe that's what keeps us reaching out to friends on a blog, just trying to understand & share information.
Did everyone read Val's last piece on Mother's Day?

Thanks Julie - and I may have already overstepped my bounds. I've read the rules, etc., and I did not see anything saying who may start a new post - so under "Waiting Trial" I started a new post entitled "George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin." If this was wrong - let me apologize and feel free to delete.

JMG610, I hope you decide to join in the discussion, no opinion is more important than another opinion, all may be different, but I usually always find them interesting even if I don't agree. Life experiences shade opinions, everyone contributes something unique, just think about it!

Hi, former Hinksters!
It has been confirmed that The Hinky Meter has been shut down by Valhall.
This is a very sad day for the many members of The Hinky Meter. I could cry!
Valhall will leave Ventrilo and the Live Chat up for a while for the Hinksters to use. We can meet there to Live Chat during the Tammi Smith trial on Monday and for the duration of the trial.
Several of us Hinksters were on it earlier and were able to Chat since we had downloaded Ventrilo some time ago.
If you are looking for a place to join, you are cordially invited to join Reality Chatter. For your info, I have been a member here since August, 2010 in addition to my membership at The Hinky Meter. It is a great place and I feel safe here.
This site is owned by Justice4All and FystyAngel. They are the Site Administrators and do a great job of monitoring this site.
You do not have to be a member of Reality Chatter to read in the Forum. However, if you want to post a comment, membership is required. Also, once you join, you will see other threads and features that are not available to non-members.
There are a lot of great features here like there were at The Hinky Meter. There is the PM feature which is your private account. If you want to PM, after you join, you will need to post on any thread a time or two and that will activate your PM capability. Your comment can be as simple as, "Hi, I'm new."
You can click on Profile to post your avatar and set your settings, signature if you want one, etc.
There is also a Live Chat at the bottom of the Forum Page available to members. No audio.
The Homepage features updated articles from mainstream media in the center with additional articles to the right. To the left, is a "scrolling roll" which will let you see who posted recently on what thread. You can click on and it will take you to the desired thread.
The Forum is divided into sections. Click on a section and you will be able to view all threads in that section. You can then click on the thread you are interested in. Here is the Link to the Forum:

Reality Chatter - Forum
I, like many of you, will miss Valhall and The Hinky Meter. She is an awesome lady and I am so happy that I was part of her wonderful site. I hope that one day she will decide she wants to have a blog again. I will be among the first to join!
If you join Reality Chatter, you might want to keep your "Hinky Meter" nic so your cyber friends from the Hinky can find you here. There are some Hinky members here.
If you join and need help in navigating this site, please leave a comment here. Some one will help you.
Julie, from the Hinky Meter, is also a member here. She is very knowledgeable about this site. I can also be of help (maybe)!
Looking forward to seeing some (if not all) of The Hinksters here! Hope this info will give you an idea of how to get around at Reality Chatter if you decide to join.

Hi all! I want to take a few minutes & thank you all for coming to RC. I am honored to have you all here. I, too, will miss Val & her site.
Please take a minute to read the rules. We don't have many...most of all...is to be respectful of each other.
I am still away from home (in Florida) but will be returning to NJ on Wednesday. I will have a lot more time to be here. I miss everyone so much.
Feel free to post & comment most anywhere on the site. Also, anyone who would like a new (or old) case, feel free to start a new thread.
Hope to see everyone much more...as soon as I get home.

Posting Val's "final article" publicly wasn't such a big, because she DID post it publicly for everyone to see and read .. So here it is: (just a summary of what i know)

Bashara discussion threads at couple of other forums .. Here are the most populated ones i guess:

Mother’s day, anniversaries, hateful people and the likes
Posted on May 10, 2012 by Valhall
It’s been a year since my Dad died.
There was at least 2 years of emotional hell leading up to his release from the torturous existence he had prior to death’s relief.
My mother is certifiably a narcissistic, delusional old bitter woman who tortured my father (most likely for the majority of his life, but it only came out after my Dad’s Alzheimer’s rendered him defenseless). I’ve stuffed several years of being primary care provider to my elderly parents, watching the mental torture of my father, and witnessing the stripping of decency and peace from his final months on Earth by my mother. I have great guilt to deal with that I did not rescue my father from my mother.
And mother’s day is here.
I’ve seen a growing trend of hatefulness on this site. I have more real-world bitterness and human emotional brutality to deal with in my own real life sitution than I can even express…or handle. I’ve seen real-life hatefulness and what it does to people. Hatefulness makes my stomach churn.
I have to get to where I can actually consider being able to attend my own mother’s funeral when she passes. I am not there and at this time do not believe I could. I have to watch the continued decimation of a righteous man’s life through the bitterly concocted false and delusional attacks of his character from a woman who was nothing but coddled, cared for, and sheltered for 68 years of her and my father’s life.
Insanity.
Signing off for now…
Valhall.

and elsewhere else on the net, someone wrote this about THM:
Old_Hippie wrote:Hi,
I just joined here today. I've been on HM several months. I believe Val shut it down because things got very ugly on the Trayvon Martin thread over the last several days; last night she posted a couple of really melt-down type posts on that thread. She was being criticized by some posters because of all the people who have been posting very ugly things about the victim and his family, over the last few days. It was a real mess. So, there were two very frustrated posts by Val, with threats to shut the thread down, which did happen, shortly followed by the whole site going off line.
Just thought you might like to know, I think the TM thread finished her off. That's my best guess.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Val.
I read your last (personal) article at Hinky Meter (through Web Cache actually, as the site was gone by the time i saw it)
Very sorry about your situation.
I worked in the past with several Alzheimer people ... and very well know what it's all about.
I hope you can heal some day.
Take care,
Paul.
p.s.
Visited your YouTube page earlier in the day, when was looking at Google ... for into on "What happened to Hinky Meter"
Saw your videos of Tornadoes ... i guess they are quite frequent in your area.
Also saw you (and even your husband) starring in couple other videos :)
Found them quite entertaining ... Had a little chuckle even :)

Re: Hinky Meter "Refugees"
i would guess, it would depend on the status / popularity etc of any particular site...
I imagine The Hinky Meter was quite popular site (to compare it with many others that is)..
Of course there, probably, are larger / more populated sites out there .. etc .. but Hinky Meter was pretty good!

Re: Hinky Meter "Refugees"
Very interesting info on buying an selling blogs. They range in price from $1.00 to upwards of $50,000. One person said to take your monthly revenue, multiply it by 12 and that should be what you charge. Apparently is big business. I see more reading in my future.
