The conflict may very well be Antolin Garcia-Torres' father. In addition to the father's criminal history which includes DUIs, domestic violence, and vehicular manslaughter, he currently faces some disturbing allegations of repeated sexual assault on a child.

The now adult woman came forward last year and outlined for detectives 10 years of abuse between 1990 and 2000 beginning when she was just 5 years old.

Sierra LaMar Suspect Lawyer Steps Down


Following a court hearing Thursday morning, Ken Mandel will no longer be representing Antolin Garcia-Torres, who has not yet entered a plea in answering to charges that he took Sierra on March 16. She was on her way to Sobrato High, but never made it there. Prosecutors say that she was killed at some point, though her body has still not been found.

Garcia-Torres' case has now been referred to the alternate public defender's office, which is similar to a public defender and is a routine alternative when the public defender can no longer represent someone.

No, I'm not saying that. My comment is in reaction to the totality of the charges against GG (AGT's father) and the ramifications of the lineage befallen on the son, playing out in his choices (violence towards young girls/women).

I don't see that same pattern of destructive VIOLENCE in her actions in anything Sierra ever did. Perhaps her SM feeds were a cry for help or an acting out of a different sort, but I still see her as a victim. I have no doubt Sierra was damaged by her father's RSO status. And she's a child.

So, no Steve LaMar doesn't get a pass by any means. But the Garcia-Torres clan have taken this to a whole other level.

But I think you are right about this sketch.

We were discussing this sketch when it first surfaced in the Safeway case on another forum and how the other sketch was clean shaven and how that might prove to be a bit problematic.
And about how the sketch looked like it was drawn from looking directly at Antolin's current mugshot pic.
I wondered why it wasn't being circulated anymore and fell down the memory hole. To keep it from looking EXACTLY like his mugshot, they have him with a different style beard area.

Now, his defense atty has suddenly remembered he has a conflict of interest?

I'm saying I saw this sketch already released with a story that had the woman at the Safeway describing a man in his 30s driving a white Honda with a black roof or hood.

If it brings new info to light and re-opens some cases that is wonderful.

I just do not want to see his name next to every potential assault in SC County because the DA's case may be a little too circumstantial.

Meanwhile CA (at least LA county) can start putting some fences around their *$%&* playgrounds to keep wackos out of areas specifically meant for children!

i've been looking at examples of sketches-the glare itself doesn't bother me (depends on artist) but it is definitely too bright, it's like someone photographed it under glass...where are our photography experts??? crap-another photo mystery, just what this case needs between this and the Sharks photo i will lose my mind before trial ever gets here. it shouldn't be blurry if it's a sketch either...maybe it got faxed over and got distorted.

The "glare" may have been an attempt to highlight certain areas of the face.

Edited: This vehicle was reported by the witness to have a black "roof". No color was given for the car. Also stated it was an older--- maybe 1990--- Honda.

The current vehicle is a Red Jetta with a black hood.

That was before I heard about these child cases.

I might be coming in late to this, so I apologize, but I'm confused. There are two distinctly different sketches that have been released. The first sketch to be released was the one with the hoodie that had been published in a 2009 article from Fugitive Watch website after the Safeway incidents, so it could not be considered staged since it was released right after that happened and it was rendered by the woman who had been able to get to her car and lock the doors (the only victim that did not involve a weapon).

The second sketch is the more recent one related to Gilroy and it's the one where the perp has a goatee and a close cut shaved head.

Is there some confusion that there is only one sketch out there? There's one for Safeway for 2009 and then there's a different one for Gilroy for 2011.

AGT's teacher from Central were joking about the black hood on their cars. Assuming AGT went to school around 15-18 years of age, then that means he's had that Jetta for a while.

I believe in the interview with the mom, it showed her car. I don't think it was a white car and I don't think it was a Honda.

Two suspects sought in separate alleged kidnapping attempts

Snip- Police are also searching for a second suspect from what is believed to be an unrelated incident July 26, when a man driving a "dirty" black and white Honda vehicle in the 7600 block of Miller Avenue told a 10-year-old girl to get into his car.

In both incidents, the children refused the suspects' advances and were not harmed, police said. The reported locations are a half-mile from each another and are each roughly a five-minute walk to El Roble Elementary School.

The Gilroy Police Department believes there are two suspects in the two incidents, and they have not made any arrests in either attempted child abduction. They have released a sketch of the Miller Avenue suspect, who is described as a Hispanic male approximately 30 years old with a goatee and short, balding hair or a possible crew cut.

Does FS have a car? Make/model?

Apparently AGT has another car (or has had another car) in the past in addition to the red jetta. It is a blue sedan (Buick?) and it is pictured in his MySpace account several photos. Also, he posted on his MySpace (2008?) that he "rollded" his Jeep. So he's had a few other cars since his Jetta.

My observation is that police usually refrain from stating any connections until the linking facts are rubbed up into their faces (or at least it was the case with my personal experience where our entire neighborhood knew our string of robberies on the same night were related but cops refused to say they were related - until finally the credit card reports were all compared and they shopped at the same store on all the cards). So for them to jump all the way to - He did it -- I wonder what it is they have and not reporting? Or are they just totally reckless?

Gilroy police have re-released a sketch of a man with a goatee who they believe "annoyed" three girls and one boy last summer, which is raising questions if the suspect is the man now charged with kidnapping and murdering 15-year-old Sierra LaMar.

According to Gilroy police Sgt. Chad Gallacinao, one of the child victims has potentially identified a suspect. But Gallacinao wouldn't say whether that suspect was Antolin Garcia-Torres, the 21-year-old Morgan Hill man charged with killing Sierra.

An incident involving a Hispanic male who allegedly attempted to lure a 10-year-old girl into his car July 26, 2011 has drawn recent attention from the community, as some have cited that the sketch released of the suspect looks similar to Antolin Garcia Torres, the murder suspect tied to Sierra LaMar’s disappearance.

The suspect approached a girl outside her home on the 7600 block of Miller Avenue in west Gilroy and ordered her to enter his white Honda. The girl did not comply, but ran into her house and told her family members.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult with a goatee with short balding hair or a crew cut.

Some media outlets have connected the sketch of this suspect to Garcia Torres’ booking photo, but Gilroy Police have not identified the suspect yet or announced any possible link to Sierra LaMar.

“Those are other people drawing those conclusions,” Gallacinao said.

The GPD completed their investigation into this incident, and has submitted it to the District Attorney for review.

-The child annoyances stems from two cases between July 26 and Aug. 3 involving four children between the ages of 9 and 15.

-In August, police said a man invited a boy, 11, and two girls, 9 and 15, away from their home about 3 p.m. in the 900 block of Ortega Circle to a restaurant. The children declined and told their parents, who then called police. In the July case, police said a man tried to lure a 10-year-old girl into his car in front of her home in the 7600 block of Miller Avenue about 5:30 p.m. The girl refused, and ran in and told her parents, who then called police.

-In the August case, the suspect was described as a 20- to 25-year-old Latino man standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. In the July case, the suspect was described as a Latino man about 30 years old with short, balding hair or a possible crew cut.

-Garcia-Torres(Latino) is 21 years old, stands 6 feet tall and weighs between 165 to 200 pounds. Detectives said he drove a red Jetta with a black hood. In the July case, the girl described the suspect's car as a "dirty" white 1990s Honda with a black roof. In the August case, the suspect walked away on foot.

Her pics, IF not taken by cell camera, which also has meta-data, but if taken on on computer webcam, would have a date/time stamp.

The PD would KNOW which were the last known pics AND the source of the pics whether cell phone or web cam based upon the meta data they both utilize.
