The Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking the public’s help in locating a missing teenager, authorities confirmed Wednesday.

FBI Special Agent Darrell Foxworth with the FBI field office in San Diego said investigators are looking for 13-year-old Kaelynne Paez, a teen from Heber, Calif.

According to the FBI, Paez was last seen on the morning of Sept. 9 near Heber Avenue in Imperial County.

“Her family hasn't had any contact with her, so there is a lot of concern with her well-being, where she may be who she may be with,” Foxworth told NBC 7 San Diego Wednesday night.

Kaelynne Paez online dating profile not directly related to disappearance

The missing 13-year-old from Heber may have created an online dating profile before she was taken, though investigators say there isn’t a direct link to her disappearance.

NBC 7 in San Diego reported Kaelynne Paez, who went missing Sunday, had several online profiles on adult dating Web sites that may have been created by Kaelynne.

“One profile featuring a photo that resembles Paez also includes this quote in the ‘About Me’ section: ‘I’m Kaelynne … I love to box, play basketball, hang out, meet new people and yeah I’m single’,” according to the news station’s report.

The profile on DateHookup.com also claimed she is 19 years old, has some college education and is interested in meeting men between the ages of 18 and 25.

Have you seen Kaelynne Paez?

The FBI is seeking the public's help in locating Kaelynne Paez, a 13-year-old girl who is missing from Heber, California.

According to FBI spokesman Darrell Foxworth, circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Paez are suspicious and there is concern for her safety. The FBI will not elaborate on what those circumstances are.

The young teen was last seen when she left her Heber Avenue home in Heber at about 9 a.m. Sunday. Her brother reported her missing to the Imperial County Sheriff's Office at 1:40 p.m.

MISSING: FBI Asking For Help Locating Girl: Kaelynne Paez, Age 13

The FBI is seeking the public’s assistance to locate Kaelynne Paez, age 13, of Heber, California. Paez was last seen the morning of September 9, 2012 in the vicinity of Heber Avenue, in Heber, California. Heber is in Imperial County in Southern California, which is just north of the U.S.-Mexico border.

It appears the girl created profiles on a few adult dating websites, claiming to be 19 years old. The FBI has not given many more details about the girl’s online life, but many wonder if she ran off with someone she met online or worse, was lured by an online predator.

Heber teen found after week missing

The Heber teen who went missing last week has been found, according to a press release from the FBI.

Kaelynne Paez, 13, was recovered safely Sunday, according to the press release. Paez was found by Los Angeles Police Department officers early Sunday morning based on information provided by FBI agents. She was found in a Los Angeles residence.

Paez has been reunited with her family in Heber, according to the press release.

The investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
