White supremacist gang member arrested in Colorado corrections director killing

DENVER — Authorities have arrested a member of a white supremacist gang linked to the killing Colorado’s prisons chief, who was shot answering the door of his home last month.

El Paso County sheriff’s spokesman Jeff Kramer says James Lohr was taken into custody early today. Lohr was wanted for questioning in the murder of Colorado Corrections Director Tom Clements. It’s unclear if Lohr has been charged.

The capital murder trial for Mario Andrette McNeill starts today with jury selection in Cumberland County Superior Court - Fayetteville, NC.

McNeill is accused of killing 5-year-old Shaniya Davis in November, 2009.

McNeill, 32, will face a jury that could sentence him to death. Charges against him include first-degree murder, child rape, kidnapping, child abuse, human trafficking and sexual exploitation of a child.

Jury selection is expected to take 2 to 3 weeks. The trial is expected to last six to eight weeks.

I do not know if this trial will be streamed "live." I hope to call (either today or tomorrow) and find out.

Shaniya Davis captured the hearts of many as her story unfolded in 2009. She was brutally raped and murdered and then tossed in the woods. In November, 2009, Shaniya Davis was given up by her mother, Antoinette Davis, to allegedly settle a drug debt.

(CBS) - A kidnapping suspect was taken into custody early Monday but authorities still haven't found the missing 5-year-old girl the woman allegedy took from a Missouri home, CBS affiliate KCTV reports.

Police said 38-year-old Tammi Lampkins, who is also known as Tammi Kelly, called authorities after she saw herself on television and turned herself in, the station reports. But the abducted child wasn't with the woman, and investigators said they didn't know where the girl was Monday morning.

I think you are thinking of Ethan Stacy. Recently there were three days of testimony at a preliminary hearing for Nathan Sloop and there is another day of testimony scheduled for April 19. Once the hearing concludes, the Judge will decide if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial. I think there is more than enough evidence from everything I have read.

Freckles, perhaps you thought of FL because when the Stacy's got their divorce they were living in FL.

A judge in FL oversaw the divorce proceedings between Joe and Stephanie Stacy -- including the custody rights involving their 4-year-old son, Ethan.

SARATOGA, Calif. (AP) - Three boys arrested last week on suspicion of sexually abusing a 15-year-old Northern California girl who later took her own life were initially cited on misdemeanor allegations in the case, authorities said.

The investigation in September turned up only enough evidence to support citations for misdemeanor sexual battery, Santa Clara County sheriff's Lt. Jose Cardoza told the San Jose Mercury News (http://bit.ly/17ahlHh ) on Saturday.

Deputies arrested three 16-year-old boys last week on suspicion of sexual battery against Audrie Pott, a Saratoga High School sophomore who hanged herself last fall after an explicit photo was circulated of the alleged assault.

Two explosions went off near the finish line of the Boston Marathon on Monday, witnesses told NBC News.

Video from the finish line showed screams and an enormous cloud of white smoke, and about 20 seconds between the explosions. The Associated Press reported that bloody spectators were being carried to a medical tent that had been set up to care for tired runners.

Jackie Bruno, a reporter for New England Cable News, said on Twitter that she saw people’s legs blown off.

BOSTON (AP) — Boston police say two people were killed and 23 people were hurt when a pair of bombs exploded near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

The blasts shattered the end of the race Monday, sending authorities out on the course to carry away the injured while stragglers in the 26.2-mile race were rerouted away from the smoking site.

Two bombs exploded near the finish of the Boston Marathon on Monday, killing at least two people, injuring at least 23 others and sending authorities rushing to aid wounded spectators, race organizers and police said.

One runner, a Rhode Island state trooper, said he saw at least two dozen people with very serious injuries, including missing limbs.

The New York Post is reporting that 12 people were killed, with twice as many injured.

Police confirmed with WGN that one and a half-year-old Bryeon Hunter is presumed dead, less than two days after his reported abduction prompted an Illinois AMBER Alert.

A memorial to Bothell resident Susann Smith sits in the driveway of her home. The same home her body was found on Feb. 12.

A potted plant, wilting flowers and a couple of soaked greeting cards were pushed to one side of the driveway, when a cleaning crew arrived with their van on Friday. The crew was there to scrub the Bothell mother's blood from the carpet and walls.

Most neighbors would be happy to see the progress and to move on. But no one has been arrested for Susann’s murder and neighbors on this block are more concerned about who is moving in.

Allan Smith, the women's estranged husband and the only person of interest named by police, told one of his neighbors that he plans to move back into the home in about three weeks.

Facebook posting leads police to driver in upstate NY girl's hit-and-run death 45 years ago

FULTON, N.Y. – Authorities say a Facebook posting has helped police figure out who was driving a car that fatally struck a 4-year-old upstate New York girl 45 years ago.

The Fulton Police Department says Wednesday that 62-year-old Douglas Parkhurst has been identified as the driver of a car that failed to stop after hitting Carolee Sadie Ashby on Halloween night in 1968. Police say he won't be charged because the statute of limitations has expired.

Police say Carolee was crossing a street with her 15-year-old sister and cousin when she was hit. The driver was never caught.

Authorities say a former Fulton resident living in Florida provided Parkhurst's name after reading a retired detective's Facebook post about the cold case.
An Oswego County phone number for Parkhurst has been disconnected.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Cold Case Squad is looking to the public to help solve a mystery.

On Saturday, January 20, 2001, a bulldozer operator was clearing a wooded area on Bilnoski Road near Afton Park and found human skeletal remains on top of the ground.

Searching the area investigators found human remains, pieces of clothing and a set of partial dentures. The investigation focused on the dentures to identify the victim but leads went cold.

Detectives are investigating a homicide in Washington state home owned by a man linked to the D.B. Cooper skyjacking mystery.

A woman called police Friday to report that she had gone to the home in Woodinville, northeast of Seattle, to check on her father and found him dead, said King County Sheriff's Sgt Cindi West.

Reports said that the home is owned by Earl Cossey, 74.

King County Sheriff’s Detectives are asking for the public’s help in the investigation of a Woodinville man who was found slain in his home on Friday.

Earl Cossey, 71, was found dead in his home around 5:30 p.m. by family members who went to check on him when they had not been able to reach him for a few days.

Family members last saw him alive late Monday on April 22.

Cossey, a former skydiving instructor, played a bit part in one of the Northwest's most enduring mysteries.

Boyfriend of missing Minnesota softball star — who wanted to break up with him — shoots self in head as police seek to question him

A Minnesota man wanted for questioning in the disappearance of his on-the-outs girlfriends agreed to speak to police but then shot himself outside the suburban Twin Cities police station.

David Marshall Roe, 24, shot himself on Thursday as police were seeking to question him about the disappearance of his girlfriend, Mandy Matula.



Matula who was last seen at Miller Park in Eden Prairie at around 1:30 a.m. Thursday with Roe. Family members said Matula wanted to break up with Roe, but Roe didn't want the relationship to end.

The spurned boyfriend of a missing college softball star shot himself in the head outside a Minnesota police station as authorities sought to question him about her disappearance, police said.

David Roe, 24, was being treated at Hennepin County Medical Center, though a hospital spokesman said Friday she had "no information" about his condition authorities said.

Police in Eden Prairie, a Twin Cities suburb, said Roe had agreed to speak to investigators about the disappearance of his girlfriend, Mandy Matula, 24, when he drove to police headquarters at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators said Roe was sitting in his SUV when he placed a piece of paper in the window and then stuck a pistol under his chin and pulled the trigger, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported.

Cops didn't say whether the piece of paper had a message on it.

A man who shot himself in the head before police could question him about the disappearance of a Minnesota woman died today, the county medical examiner said.

A woman who answered the phone at the Hennepin County Medical Examiner confirmed David Roe's death to ABC News. Authorities have said they believe Roe, 24, of Victoria, Minn., was with Mandy Matula, of Eden Prairie, Minn., before she was reported missing Thursday morning, according to a news release.

LONG VIEW, N.C. —


A man has been charged with murder in the death of an 18-month-old boy in Long View, according to officials.

They said the children’s mother was not home and the children were being watched by William Howard Lail, the mother’s boyfriend.

Investigators said Lail, 25, has been charged with murder in the death of the toddler. He was also charged with two counts of felony child abuse.

He's accused of killing Jaden and injuring his sister, 3-year-old Kylie, who was taken to an area hospital to be treated for burns.

For those who may have forgotten some of the details regarding Abigail Young and her many lies regarding Lucas Coe and her daughter, Emma Thompson, please read the "pdf" from 2012 (see Link below) - Fourteenth Court of Appeals - Majority Opinion: Affirmed and Opinion Filed 1/10/12 - Abigail Elizabeth Young

For your info, on 7-12-10, Abigail Young was found guilty of causing injury to a child by omission, but the jury found that she did so recklessly rather than knowingly and intentionally. Unfortunately, it was the lesser charge. Had it been knowingly and intentionally, Young could have been sentenced to Life in Prison without Parole.

On 7-13-10, Abigail Young was sentenced to 20 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. She was taken into custody after sentencing. She is currently incarcerated in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice prison in Gatesville, Tx. (For your info, Lucas Coe was sentenced to Life without Parole and will never be eligible for parole)

Abigail Young did not express remorse for the death of Emma Thompson at her sentencing but her attorneys filed an Appeal of her conviction which was Affirmed (denied) by the Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston, Harris County, Tx. Then Young's attorneys filed a Motion for a Rehearing. That was OVERRULED by the Fourteenth Court of Appeals on 2/29/12.

It is clearly evident that Abigail Young did whatever to protect Lucas Coe and his daughter (give them time to get away) while others gave her daughter, Emma Thompson, CPR and tried to revive her. Abigail Young, a highly trained Registered Nurse, did not give her daughter CPR before EMS arrived but others did. She was on the telephone with Lucas Coe per cell phone records that were introduced as evidence during her trial.

ALEXANDRIA, La. - Attorneys have a deadline this month to request that jurors be sequestered for the trial of a man who was declared dead, but surfaced years later as a suspect in the deaths of his girlfriend and her daughter.

Thomas Steven Sanders was declared legally dead after abandoning his family in Mississippi in 1994. He surfaced in 2010 as a suspect in the deaths of a Suellen and Lexis Roberts of Las Vegas.

Authorities say hunters found 12-year-old Lexis Roberts' body in the woods in Catahoula Parish, La., in October 2010. She had been shot and her throat was cut.

Police: Seductress Drugged Man, Stole Money

Wealthy, middle-aged men in Florida are being warned to look out for a beautiful woman who allegedly seduced and then drugged her victim, walking away with nearly $100,000 worth of cash and valuables.

The woman, who according to her alleged victim called herself Crystal and appeared to be in her late 20s, was shown in a sketch released by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.

Authorities said she met a 45-year-old man in a bar, and after it closed, police said, they went to a nearby club for another drink before retiring to the man’s waterfront mansion.

Crystal then mixed her target a vodka cocktail that knocked him out, police said.

She is 14 years old has brown eyes, and black hair. She is about 5'0" tall and weighs about 120 pounds.

She was last seen May 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Jesus Ramirez, 22.

He has brown eyes and black hair. He is about 5'9" and weighs about 165 pounds.

Three women missing for years found alive in Cleveland house

All three women have since been taken to a hospital, where they were reported to be in good medical condition, police said.

Growing crowds on the street where the women were found cheered as police cars drove into the cordoned-off area.

The three women were identified by police as Gina DeJesus, Amanda Berry and Michelle Knight. Police said in a twitter posting that the three were "alive, talking, appeared to be OK."

Local media have reported that Berry vanished in 2003 and DeJesus in 2004...."
