During Juan's cross of Jodi on Day 21, Juan mentions the hearing on August 8, 2011. This hearing was where Jodi tried to get Matt McCartney to lie for her about pedophilia accusations against Travis & attempted to slip magazines to him. LaViolette was in this same hearing & told Juan Martinez during questioning that Jodi had told her Travis was masturbating to images on a laptop (not pieces of paper on bed).

Separately, accounts say that Juan was furious about LaViolette's testimony and immediately filed a motion to preclude LaViolette from testifying about Travis Alexander in any way. Mainly because her testimony would be based on a lie from Jodi. Prosecutor could prove this was a lie because it directly contradicted Jodi saying she saw Travis masturbating to pictures on his bed NOT images on laptop.

On August 15, 2011, the judge granted the state's motion to preclude LaViolette from speaking about Travis and limiting her testimony about main issues of abuse.

Separately, I seem to recall that Jean Casarez was recently on HLN speaking about this same hearing where LaViolette and Juan got into it pretty heavily and that LaViolette didn't fare well against him. Apparently Jean didn't think LaViolette would hold up against Juan much better than on that day when he gets her on cross. Does anyone have that video? "

Good Morning Team Travis!! I just want to clarify the ribbon incident yesterday in court... I hope you all know that I want to confirm as much as possible before I post anything & I hope you all will understand why I feel that is necessary... and so we have a STF member (STFM) who has consistently been in the courtroom & was there yesterday. Late last night, our STFM had the opportunity to explain what happened. Yes, the defense did request that supporters remove their ribbons. Our STFM was able to speak w family members who had politely asked everyone to please remove their ribbons... one family member did tell our STFM that this appeared to be a "tit for tat" for something a supporter had done the day before.... yes, juvenile, ridiculous, absurd, immature, crazy... but our STFM said everyone wanted to respect the family's wishes and do whatever they requested....

I know many of you saw my comments regarding the Supreme Court ruling on Carey v Musladin (2006) which set a precedent for just this very thing... I am extremely shocked that this was not addressed at the beginning of the trial & repeated everyday... however, obviously it was not... Be that as it may... I think it is VERY important that we remember that we do NOT want a mistrial and that is why the above ruling is so very significant. The family also does NOT want anything to prejudice the jury and it would be just awful if it was us, the supporters (not maliciously), who cause just one juror to say he/she was influenced by seeing all the family's blue ribbons on ppl in the gallery knowing there was a connection.... w that said.... let's respect the family's wishes b/c I know we don't want to go through another trial can you imagine their thoughts on that? Yes, I totally disagree how this was all handled.... but let's move forward and show our support through our blue ribbon profile pics... and don't forget to post your blue ribbon round your tree, door, plant etc on the page wall.... and I'll add it to our album for the family! Alice is now talking about violent movies. (I'm not sure what fake movies have to do about this trial and Jodi stabbing Travis 29 times, hacks his throat, and shoots him in the head) I guess Alice is saying it's all the movies fault that people don't feel sorry for the victims of abuse.

Alice was sent a box of paperwork on Jodi's case. The first things she got it was limited. Alice flew over and spoke with Jodi for 8 hours and 6-7 hours with her the next day. That's when she decided to accept the case. State objects

Then Alice was sent more information. She's looked at 7 hours of unedited 48 hours video, diaries, IM, text, emails, Travis' text to other women, 20 other interviews with Jodi's family and employers. She spent another 44 hours interviewing Jodi. She looked at photos.

Does it clouds your judgement? No.

Family of orgin- there was "abuse" They were hit with spoons. The parents were to strict. Jodi's father was controlling. Dad was jealous. He was inapproiate with Jodi. Jodi and Carl were ignored when the babies came along.

Jodi and Travis- Alice just said Jodi wanted to get married to OG, but the relationship was coming to an end. Travis came along at the right (or wrong) time. Travis borrowed the dress for Jodi to wear to the PPL event. I guess Travis wined and dined her and all she could see was dollar signs. Alice said that Jodi was more impressed with his Mormon faith. Alice said Jodi wanted to MARRY AND HAVE CHILDREN and she was upset. Alice said the problem was there was a power difference between them.

When they arrive at the Hughes house, Travis pretty much ignores her but then they do the oral sex thing. Alice is saying women have a hard time saying no.
(Really at this point, all Alice is doing is repeating Jodi's story) Travis and Jodi meet at Starbuck, he gives her the Book of Mormon book, he's horny, and Jodi gives him a BJ in the car. Jodi has no boundaries. (You think?) Erinburg meeting Oct 2006- it was all about sex, not romance. Jodi wanted more, Travis just wanted sex (duh, that's what you call a booty call not a proposal of marriage)

Email- Travis' prior treatment of other women, Travis may reject her, Travis' childhood and his relationship with women, information on other women, information that if Travis wanted to date Mrs Hughes' sister, Sky would forbid it. They though Travis needed counsling. Travis treated another woman bad. Travis called Jodi a skank. Travis wouldn't allow Jodi to put their pictures up anywhere. The Hughes say Travis was abusive to Jodi. Alice considers all this information abusive.

Court is finished for the day. They are going to start court at 9:30 Tuesday. The judge sends the jury back to the room and they (judge and attorneys) are talking to the jury (probably about this morning to see if any of them saw anything).

It was revealed that Arias and her cell mate had forged the letters in which Travis confessed to abusing Arias and being a pedophile.
The pair were caught writing secret messages in magazines using pens smuggled into a shampoo bottle. Arias managed to get the letters out of jail through her cell mate's mail and had someone electronically send them to her defense team. A guard found pieces of paper in Arias? trash where she was practising to write like Travis.

There?s also a letter from judge re them being forgeries but can?t locate it right now.

I think what the Hughes' have said since then seems to bear that out. In the end, they told Travis to keep her the hell away from their house. As it turned out, the Hughes were more prescient than they realized. It took a while for Travis to catch on; and, by then it was too late.

Just to clarify- That happened at a friend of Jacob and Holly Memford's house. While Jacob and Holly were visiting their friend, Jodi showed up and the friend let Jodi have it. She was brutally honest with Jodi and told her that she was no longer welcome at her house. Holly was making Mac n cheese in the kitchen at the time for all the kids. Instead of leaving the house (which any normal person would do- and do quickly!) Jodi went into the kitchen where Holly was and sat at the kitchen table staring off and not saying anything for 10-15 minutes. The woman who owned the house was freaked out and went into another room. Finally when Jodi left, they were all stunned at the weirdness of it all.

What happened at Chris and Skye's house was- Jodi and Travis showed up and there was something off about Jodi that they hadn't really caught onto the first time that they met her. Apparently word had gotten around that Jodi was a bit weird and when Jodi was at their house she was practically trying to make out with Travis while he was just sitting in the living room talking to them. (This happened in front of Chris, Skye and their kids) It got stranger that evening when Jodi kept trying to get Skye alone to ask her what she could do better to keep Travis interested in her, etc. By that time they realized that this was one odd duck and decided to have a private conversation with Travis about Jodi and the 3 went upstairs while Jodi was presumably asleep. They told Travis they didn't want Jodi around their family/kids anymore and that if Travis wanted to continue seeing Jodi, they couldn't meet up at their house. (Their house was sort of a mid point for Travis and Jodi to meet up) They no longer wanted anything to do with Jodi. They talked to Travis for about an hour and a half before Skye sensed that Jodi might be listening behind the closed door. As soon as Skye said this, Jodi opened the door and said, "Is there anything wrong?" and shot Chris and Skye a look that made them pretty wigged out and they slept with one eye open all night.
This drove Travis and Jodi's relationship under ground. People just got a creeper vibe from her and started not wanting her around their kids, etc.
