OP did not mention prior to his taking the stand that he had any conversation directed to or from Reeva. Nor did he mention any sounds from the bathroom during the bail application. All couples would have shared the screams or the gunshots heard; OP never spoke to her regarding the sounds. With earlier gf, Samantha Taylor, he DID wake her up!

OP had placed a phone on a charger.
He had to go downstairs to get to his phone to call security, PD.

OP was calm in the face of having just killed Reeva.

OP spoke calmly of deactivating the alarm.

Nel: it's amazing that people who'd never met each other would make statements with this degree of corroboration.

Nel points out the screaming stopped AFTER the gunshots.
Had OP been the one screaming, normal reaction would have been to scream even more when he realized he had just shot his loved one.
But the screaming stopped.

PRETORIA – There was never a perceived intruder in Oscar Pistorius’s bathroom on the night he shot Reeva Steenkamp dead – the story was a fabrication.

This is the crux of the state’s case as closing arguments began in the North Gauteng High Court on Thursday where the high profile murder trial is coming to an end.

“We will argue that the accused’s version should not be accepted. If the accused’s version is rejected, it means there was no perceived intruder whatsoever,” said prosecutor Gerrie Nel.

“And that, if accepted, is devastating for the accused. And that is our version.”

Yes, but he has made some very important points about Pistorius never taking responsibility for his actions and the many inconsistencies in his testimony.

PRETORIA – Oscar Pistorius’s version of events on the night he shot and killed Reeva Steenkamp are so improbable that he told at least 13 lies.

State prosecutor Gerrie Nel, in laying out his final arguments in the North Gauteng High Court, has already asked the court to disallow the three different defences put forward by the Paralympian.

“His tailoring of evidence was so significant that we have numbered the incongruencies and have come up with a baker’s dozen,” Nel said.

ONE: Pistorius had confidently stated that he had no idea what a “zombie stopper” was. He then said he could not recall having heard the word. Confronted with video evidence, he conceded having used the term himself.

TWO: After realising that he needed to be in the bedroom for his version to hold true, Pistorius changed his original statement that he was on the balcony when he first heard the alleged intruder and then later blamed his lawyer Barry Roux for the mistake.

THREE: Confronted by the need to create time for Steenkamp to have got out of bed and gone to the toilet without him noticing her, Pistorius “created another fan”. But he had then been unable to show where this fan would have been plugged in when confronted with the fact that there were no available sockets that could have been used.

“This is so impossible that it’s a clear indication of mendacity and deceitfulness,” Nel said.

Paralympian Oscar Pistorius told the court that his father had asked him if he could keep ammunition in his safe.

This, despite the two not having spoken for many years.

Pistorius said that his father put the .38 ammunition in his safe while he was not at home. He could not remember when he did this.

Nel told Pistorius that his father had refused to make a statement in the case

"My father and I haven't had communication between the two of us for many years," he replied.

Later however he said:

"He asked if he could keep the ammunition in the safe."

Pistorius then mentioned his lawyer Barry Roux, suggesting he had told the athlete it was permissible to keep somebody else's ammunition in his own safe without a licence.

"Are you telling me that Mr Roux told you were allowed to keep your father's ammunition in your safe if you're not a licence holder for .38 ammunition?"

A smiling Nel took off his glasses and looked over at Roux, who was sitting and looking down.

Exactly! That's why I posted the above article about his father not admitting that he had asked Oscar to keep ammunition for him.

He always tries to switch the blame, or he asks someone "to take the rap" for him. He doesn't take responsibility for his actions.

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel also harshly criticized the legal team of the double-amputee athlete, saying it floated more than one theory about what happened on the night that Pistorius shot Steenkamp through a closed toilet door in his home. Defence lawyers, Nel said, had argued that Pistorius acted in self-defence, fearing an intruder was in the house, but also raised the possibility that he was not criminally responsible, accidentally shooting Steenkamp because he was “startled.”

“It’s two defences that you can never reconcile,” Nel said as Pistorius sat behind him in the dock. The once-celebrated athlete appeared calm, in contrast to some past occasions during which he retched and wailed in apparent distress.
