A Bartow County mother accused of beating her 1-year-old daughter to death was granted a $1 million bond Tuesday. But the mother’s boyfriend, who is also accused in the infant’s death, was denied bond, the Bartow County District Attorney said.

...“A fractured skull, blunt force trauma to the stomach,” Millsap said in February, describing Journey’s injuries. “The child had healed ribs that had previously been broken. And she also had a femur that had cracked and had already healed.”

The 1-year-old girl who died last week of abuse allegedly at the hands of her mother and the mom's boyfriend had fresh broken bones and internal injuries, including a lacerated liver, paternal grandmother Mellodie Hunt told CBS Atlanta. The child, who had healed from previous injuries, also had broken toes, according to Fox 5.

Journey Ann Cowart was declared dead Thursday after her mother, Brandy Ann Boyd, 25, and the mom's boyfriend, Austin Levi Payne, 24, took her to the emergency room at Cartersville Medical Center. The child, who turned 1 on Jan. 10, according to Bartow County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Jonathan Rogers, reportedly was not breathing when they arrived.

The father of the 1-year-old child who was declared deceased Thursday in the emergency room of Cartersville Medical Center was found dead last year after missing for more than a month.

Bartow County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Jonathan Rogers confirmed Richard "Blake" Cowart, who was 28, fathered the child with Brandy Ann Boyd, 25.

Boyd and her boyfriend, Austin Levi Payne, 24, were jailed late Thursday after the child, a girl, was taken to the hospital, reportedly was not breathing. An examination revealed she had sustained numerous injuries of alleged abuse, Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a press release.

Sweet baby Journey. Her name leaves me with a cold lump in my heart. She was a punching bag for her mother and the BF. They should spend the rest of their lives in jail for the horrendous injuries inflicted upon this baby during her much-too-short lifetime.

Bartow County couple found guilty in baby's death

BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. -- A Bartow County couple has been found guilty of murdering the woman's 1-year-old child in 2014.

The jury began deliberating Wednesday in the trial for Brandy Boyd and her boyfriend Austin Payne. Wednesday afternoon, both defendants were convicted of felony murder, but found not guilty of malice murder.

...Sentencing for the couple will be at later date.
